Development of Adult Authentication System using Numeral Recognition (숫자인식을 이용한 성인인증기 개발)

  • This paper describes the development of adult authentication system using numerical recognition. Nowadays, the automats are very popular and they are dealing in many item suck as coffee, soft drinks, alcoholic drinks and cigarettes, etc. Among these items, some are harmful to the minor, and so the sale of these to the minor must be prohibited. In relation to this, adult authentication system is required to be equipped to the automat which deals in items harmful to minor. According to these demands, we develop the adult authentication system. This system capture the image of a residence certificate card by the identification card-reader, and recognize its numbers and identify it as adult or minor by main computer, where numeral recognition is accomplished by using image processing methods and neural network recognizer. The characteristic test of the system is carried out, and its result reveals that the system has the error of less than 1%. Thus, It is thought that the system can be used for identifying adult in the automats.

Detection of Harmful Images Based on Color and Geometrical Features (색상과 기하학적인 특징 기반의 유해 영상 탐지)

  • Along with the development of high-speed, wired and wireless Internet technology, various harmful images in a form of photos and video clips have become prevalent these days. In this paper, we suggest a method of automatically detecting adult images by extracting woman's nipple areas which represent obscenity of the image. The suggested algorithm first segments skin color areas in the $YC_bC_r$ color space from input images and extracts nipple's candidate areas from the segmented skin areas through the suggested nipple map. We then select real nipple areas by using geometrical information and determines input images as harmful images if they contain nipples. Experimental results show that the suggested nipple map-based method effectively detects adult images.

  • This paper proposes on the blocking method of Internet harmful sex sites by accoustic signal processing. Pre-existing methods mainly focused on directory-based blocking and words-based blocking. But these methods are not completely blocked the Internet harmful sites. Therefore, we propose the content-based blocking method which compose of the image-based blocking and the accoustic-based blocking. In this paper, we mainly deal with the accoustic -based blocking method. Finally, the effectiveness of this system is demonstrated by several experiments.

  • The case of South Korea's Internet newspapers, harmful advertising is illegal but rampant. The children and youth are not protected, so effective measures are urgently required. Therefore, to achieve self-regulation, a discrimination system model using collective intelligence and collective emotions is proposed. This study is to suggest a Discrimination System Model of harmful contents using collective intelligence and collective emotions as the actual program of self-regulation. The Discrimination System model forms the level of harmful contents by using contents, form, text, size as well as the implied and reminiscent story of image as discriminant factors of a group testing. The formed level is established for harmful contents discriminant criteria after going through the process of generalization again. It can be not clear and ambiguous for internet newspaper banner ads to be measure the level of harmfulness. This Discrimination System will have the strengths of resolving this problem.

Robust Detection of Body Areas Using an Adaboost Algorithm (에이다부스트 알고리즘을 이용한 인체 영역의 강인한 검출)

  • Recently, harmful content (such as images and photos of nudes) has been widely distributed. Therefore, there have been various studies to detect and filter out such harmful image content. In this paper, we propose a new method using Haar-like features and an AdaBoost algorithm for robustly extracting navel areas in a color image. The suggested algorithm first detects the human nipples through color information, and obtains candidate navel areas with positional information from the extracted nipple areas. The method then selects real navel regions based on filtering using Haar-like features and an AdaBoost algorithm. Experimental results show that the suggested algorithm detects navel areas in color images 1.6 percent more robustly than an existing method. We expect that the suggested navel detection algorithm will be usefully utilized in many application areas related to 2D or 3D harmful content detection and filtering.

Algorithm to Estimate Oil Spill Area Using Digital Properties of Image

  • Oil spill accidents at sea result in a wide range of damages, including the destruction of ocean environments and ecosystems, as well as human illnesses by the generation of harmful gases caused by phase changes in crude oil. When an oil spill occurs, an immediate initial action should be performed to minimize the potential damage. Existing studies have attempted to identify crude oil spillage by calculating the crude oil spill range using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite images. However, SAR cannot capture rapidly evolving events because of its low acquisition frequency. Herein, an algorithm for estimating an oil spill area from an image obtained using a digital camera is proposed. Noise that may occur in the image when it is captured is first eliminated by preprocessing, and then the image is analyzed. After analyzing the characteristics of the digital image, a strategy to binarize an image using the color, saturation, or lightness contained in it is adopted. It is found that the oil spill area can be readily estimated from a digital image, allowing for a faster analysis than any conventional method. The usefulness of the oil spill area measurement was confirmed by applying the developed algorithm to various oil spill images.

  • This paper proposes on the technical blocking method of Internet harmful pornographic sites which is the most Internet negative-function. At Present, most technical methods based on web sites back-searching or words filtering for blocking the pornographic Internet sites have limitations. For this, this paper proposes the acoustic and image based blocking method for filtering harmful Internet sites. For this, sexual main body parts are extracted by texture analysis and curve fitting. Also acoustic signals are analyzed using pratt tool and auto-correlation function is adopted for matching between prototype signals and test signals. Finally, the effectiveness of this paper is demostrated by several experiments.

A Hybrid Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm and a Radial Basic Function Network for Image Classification

  • Foraging is a biological process, where a bacterium moves to search for nutriments, and avoids harmful substances. This paper proposes a hybrid approach integrating the bacterial foraging optimization algorithm (BFOA) in a radial basis function neural network, applied to image classification, in order to improve the classification rate and the objective function value. At the beginning, the proposed approach is presented and described. Then its performance is studied with an accent on the variation of the number of bacteria in the population, the number of reproduction steps, the number of elimination-dispersal steps and the number of chemotactic steps of bacteria. By using various values of BFOA parameters, and after different tests, it is found that the proposed hybrid approach is very robust and efficient for several-image classification.

  • Recently, blocking harmful contents such as adult images has been widely researched. However, most of adult image blocking methods use flush color model without shape information. In this paper, we present a new adult image blocking methods based on shape and color information. In the first step, the shape is considered. In the second step, adult images are detected using skin color model. Considering both shape and color, the detection rate can be increased. We evaluate adult image detection performance using sample images.

  • This research proposes the technical solving method for blocking Internet harmful sites such as chatting and image chatting. For this, biometric verification using human front-faces is proposed. Also, signal processing method is proposed for blocking pornographic acts. Finally, the effectiveness of this paper is demostrated by experiments.
