A Study on the Design and Performance Evaluation Technology of Fieldbus Pneumatic Solenoid Valve/Sensor System (필드버스 공압 솔레노이드 밸브/센서시스템 설계 및 성능평가 특성해석)

  • For pneumatic system control, we need a data transmission system with high speed and high reliability or information interchange between main computer and solenoid valves and I/O devices. This paper presents a set of design techniques for a data communication system that is mainly used for pneumatic system control. For this purpose, we first designed hardware modules for an interface between central control module and local node that handles the operation of solenoid valves. In addition we developed a communication protocol for construction of RS-485 based multidrop network, and this protocol is basically designed with a kind of polling technique. Finally we evaluated performance of the developed system. The field test results show that, even under high noise environment, the data transmission of 375Kbps rate is possible up to 1,000m without using repeater. In addition, the system developed in this research is proved to be used easily for extension of a communication network because of its module structure.

  • The Digital Multimedia Broadcasting(DMB) system is developed to offer high quality audio-visual multimedia contents to the uses by the various portable terminals in the mobile environment. Integrated complex reception platform is required to receive multimedia broadcasting services transmitted from various transmission media. In this paper, we present the design and implementation technic for providing the both of terrestrial and satellite DMB services simultaneously using the same hardware platform. The implemented complex receiving terminal to accommodate these DMB services simultaneously need composed of it RF module. it baseband module, it complex control module and the complex de-multiplexer module. The complex control module is designed using uClinux operating system. The complex de-multiplexer, which perform the functions of the address decoder and each DMB stream de-multiplexer, is implemented. with FPGA device. The implemented platform is tested in a real environment and its performance is satisfied with required performance criteria.

  • Digital Radio Frequency Memory (below, DRFM) performs RF signal data store, delay and re-transmission. DRFM is wildly used as core module of Jammer, EW simulator, Target Echo Generator etc. This paper suggests a hardware design of DRFM which is composed RF section(RF Input/Output Module, Local Oscillator Module) and Digital section(ADC module, memory, DAC module), and confirm the validity of the propose by the test result.

  • This paper describes the implementation of a 4 channel embedded DVR system. It receives analog video from CCD cameras and converts to 640${\times}$480 CCIR-656 digital video by 30 frames/sec. These digital images are compressed to the wevelet transformed image using hardware codec which is capable of 350:1 real-time compression and decompression. The DVR is working on linux and it implemented on an embedded system which is based on StrongARM processor. For the interface between processor system module and image processing module, GPIO and memory control module are used, device drivers are developed. Linux kernel source is customized. This paper provides techniques of embedded system development and embedded linux porting.

  • With the prevalence of mobile devices, many organizations introduce MDM BYOD and try to increase the level of security with them. However, device control of mobile devices in application level cannot be a solution against the fundamental problems. In this paper, we propose a more flexible and more secure method to control the hardware devices using Linux Security Module in the kernel level with the mandatory access control.

Development of An Engine Modeling and an Engine Control Module for an LPG Engine (LPG 엔진 모델링 및 ECM 설계에 관한 연구)

  • Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) has been widely used for commercial light-duty vehicles worldwide. Since LPG has a higher octane number and a lower maximum combustion temperature than gasoline , it becomes more popular fuel for reducing exhaust emissions. In tihs study, mathematical models of air intake and fuel delivery system are presented, and a PI-controller is designed for air-fuel ratio control. Hardware and software of an engine control module (ECM) are designed for an LPG engine. The ECM is built using a Motorola MC68HC05. In order to control the air-fuel ratio at stoichiometry, the PI-control algorithm is implemented in the ECM. The experiment results show the proto LPG ECM and its control scheme perform well to meet the stoichiometric air-duel ratio requirement.

  • The guidance control module is needed for control of a GPS guided bombs to improve the accuracy and availability of a conventional bomb. In this paper, we present the development of hardware design, software design and test environments of it. And we also show the process of the tests and the results verifying and proving for its required functions and performances through ground tests and flight tests.

  • In this paper, we study and develope a special secure Dongle to be adapted in GSM SmartPhone for secure voice communication to the serial 20-pin connector in SmartPhone. We design and implement the Dongle module hardware, firmware, and software including cipher crypto-synchronization and cipher algorithm. Also we study and emulate the SmartPhone GUI software interface including communication software module to the Dongle. Finally, we analyze the performances of crypto-synchronization in some noisy environment and also we test the secure Dongle module.

  • Mobile IPv6는 차세대 인터넷 프로토콜인 IPv6를 기반으로 단말기기간에 이동성을 제공하는 프로토콜이다. 하지만 Mobile기기간의 정보 유출 및 서비스 거부 등과 같은 공격에 대해 보안 서비스의 필요성이 대두되었다. 이에 IPSec 프로토콜은 이러한 요구사항을 만족시켜 줄 수 있는 다양한 보안 서비스를 제공함에 따라 Mobile IPv6에서는 필수 구현사항으로 채택하고 있다. 이에 IPSec 프로토콜을 하드웨어로 모듈화함으로써 소프트웨어상에서 발생하는 단점을 제거하고. 하드웨어상의 Mobile기기와도 손쉽게 인터페이스 할 수 있도록 구현하였다. IPSec Core Module은 AH 및 ESP를 각각 송수신하는 모듈과 IPSec Control 모듈로 구성 하였으며. IPv6 테스트 망을 이용하여 전용 FPGA보드상에서 그 기능을 검증하였다.

  • In this paper, an open architecture control system for automatic container cranes is investigated. A standard reference model for cranes, which consists of three modules; hardware module, operating system module, and application software module, is proposed. A hybrid control architecture combining deliberative and reactive controls for the autonomous operation of the cranes is proposed. The main contributions of this paper are as follows: First, a new reference platform for the crane control system is proposed. Second, by analyzing the structure of a container crane, implementation strategies for the automatic container crane are described.
