This paper presents an augmented reality based modeling system that can provide pottery design experiences to the user. Augmented reality offers natural 3D interaction, a tangible interface, and integration into the real environment. In addition, six modeling techniques that mimics the hand movements in real world deformation process and an occlusion based interaction technique is provided for pottery modeling. The developed interface facilitates fast and intuitive pottery design. The AR pottery system can be used for pottery prototyping/design and educational purposes.
In the prior works on tabletop systems, a projection-based tabletop surface is mostly used to display computer images, and the participants interact with the display surface by hand multi-touching or using some tangible objects. In this research, however, we developed the FishBowl game that employs a scalable tabletop tiled display with infrared camera tracking coupled with PDA mobile interfaces. The focus of this game is to enhance user interactivity and realistic experience by coupling the high-resolution tabletop virtual environment and PDA mobile interface. This paper describes the game design followed by the system design and its detailed implementations. It also discusses the system usability and recommendation for its improvements after interviewing game players and then concludes with future research directions.

Future computer interface was interchanged with person's hands or eyes from traditional mouse. In this research, I developed glove type radio mouse using gyro sensor that is replaced mouse cursor movement with persons's hand movement. Introducing a mobile sensor network technology based on bluetooth, radio mouse connected to computer system wirelessly for overcoming wire mouse's activity restrictions. Also, using USB port interface made be easy to install and to use. Developed glove type radio mouse was confirmed in the possibility of using as well as an input pointing device for presentations or games that needed many kinds of user interaction.

In this paper, we designed a IoT(Internet of Things) sensor block embedded lightweight house deck structures that can be implemented using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer(CFRP). Deck-Sensor interconnection interface block via IoT connectivity Hub that can mount external environmental sensors such as fire sensors on the Deck body itself was also proposed. Additionally we described the configuration of devices for data acquisition and analysis based on IoT environmental detection sensors that can be commonly installed and used on these deck bodies. On the other hand, received sensing data based monitoring user interface(UI) also developed and used for sensing data analysis for remote monitoring center. Through the implementation of such IoT-based sensor data transmission and collection analysis devices and UI software, this paper confirmed the availability of CFRP based lightweight House deck structure and possibility of CFRP deck-based IoT sensor data networking and analysis functions.

The study aims to determine the areas and elements of usability evaluation that reflect the characteristics of the archival contents collections in the National Archives of Korea, and to evaluate the usability of the "Decisions Relating to the Independence Movement" collection for history majors. Through the findings, the relation and importance level that usability evaluation areas and elements have on overall satisfaction can be identified. As a result of this study, the areas of content, search, and interface all had positive effects on overall satisfaction. The interface area holds the greatest influence, and the two elements on each area were found to have a positive effect. On the other hand, users selected the order of importance as "search" first, "contents" second, and "interface" third, showing that interface was considered relatively less important. Based on this, we propose improving the usability direction of the archival contents collection of the National Archives of Korea.
This paper discusses the design of a working system that visually recognizes hand gestures for the control of a window based user interface. We present a method for tracking the fingertip of the index finger using a single camera. Our method is based on CAMSHIFT algorithm and performs better than the CAMSHIFT algorithm in that it tracks well particular hand poses used in the system in complex backgrounds. We describe how the location of the fingertip is mapped to a location on the monitor, and how it Is both necessary and possible to smooth the path of the fingertip location using a physical model of a mouse pointer. Our method is able to track in real time, yet not absorb a major share of computational resources. The performance of our system shows a great promise that we will be able to use this methodology to control computers in near future.
In this paper, we implement a signal-detecting electric circuit based LED lighting control system which is essential in NUI technology using EPIC converting surrounding earth electric field disturbance signals to electric potential signals. We used signal-detecting electric circuits which was developed to extract individual signal for each EPIC sensor while conventional EPIC-based development equipments provide limited forms of signals. The signals extracted from our developed circuit contributed to better performance as well as flexiblity in processes of feature extracting stage and pattern recognition stage. We designed a system which can control the brightness and on/off of LED lights with four hand gestures in order to justify its applicability to real application systems. We obtained faster pattern classification speed not only by developing an instruction system, but also by using interface control signals.

Tight fitting glove pattern is necessary to convey oscillation to the skin from the sensors attached on the hands as found in the haptic device. However, it has been difficult to provide customized glove pattern for haptic device so far. The objective of the paper is to develop a 2D pattern that fit tightly to hands by adopting the recent 3D technology to the clothing science. In this study, the user graphic interface application software(2C-AN) for the semi-automatic garment pattern generation has been utilized to develop the methodology of construct tight-fitting glove pattern for the hand in natural position. A basic pattern was developed directly from the 3D images of hand and the verification of the proposed pattern was also provided.

The hand carry digital media appliances is going to use widely, because the machines became to be small size and light weight for easy carry. Also the demand of various contents was increased for small personal media player:PMP. Now a day PMP was used as a private leisure instruments and will be used as active digital tools like a space culture guiding tools. In this research we will study on the development of user interface for space culture guide contents. Especially we proposed checking tools to be used in test and development phase of UI design for small display appliances.

DATS will connect with IMPS and LHGS to perform the reception of sensor data and the transmission of user's meteorological data, LRIT and HRIT. MODEM/BB will perform the de-commutation of received sensor data as MI and GOCI raw data according to VCID before sending them to MI and GOCI IMPS, respectively. Especially, MODEM/BB in SOC needs to be connected to six clients that consist of the primary and backup IMPS of MSC, KOSC and SOC. On the other hand, LRIT and HRIT delivered from LHGS are encoded as VITERBI and modulated by MODEM/BB. Considering sensor data transmitted from COMS, the assumed format and size of CADU are described in this paper. Finally, results related to the status of received LRIT and HRIT by frame synchronizer in user station are also described.
