  • The use of half PC slab is increasing to shorten construction period. Because the drying shrinkage of topping concrete is restrained by PC slab, the tensile stress is generated at the topping concrete and the cracks can be occurred at the topping concrete due to drying shrinkage. Therefore, it is important to predict the tensile strain of half PC slab due to drying shrinkage to improve the quality of half PC slab. However, there is no studies on prediction of shrinkage behavior of half PC slab yet. Therefore, in this study, half PC slab was made, and the predictability of tensile strain generated at half PC slab due to drying shrinkage was investigated. The step by step method considering creep was used to estimate the tensile strain of half PC slab. In result, good agreement was obtained between the analytical and experimental values.

  • The reductive pinacol coupling reaction of aldehydes or ketones creating a new C-C bond has been a major tool to produce 1,2-diol compounds. The reaction mechanism is known to be composed of sequential three steps (activation, coupling, and dissociation). In this work, we studied the dissociation step of half-titanocene-based catalytic systems. Cp and $Cp^*$ derivatives of the pinacolato-bridged dinuclear complex were synthesized and evaluated as possible models for intermediates from the coupling step. We monitored $^1H$-NMR spectra of the reaction between the metalla-pinacol intermediates and $D_2O$. New reaction routes of the dissociation step including oxo- and pinacolato-dibridged dinuclear complexes and oxo-bridged multinuclear complexes have been suggested.

  • This paper has shown that the impulse and the unit step responses of 2nd-order systems can be computed by an analytic method. Three different 2nd-order systems are investigated: the prototype system, the system with one LHP(left half plane) real zero and the system with one RHP(right half plane) real zero. It has also shown that the effects of the LHP or the RHP zero are very serious when the zero is getting closer to the origin on the complex plane. Based on these analytic results, this paper has presented two sufficient and necessary conditions for 2nd-order linear SISO(single-input/single-output) stable systems to have the nonovershooting and the monotone nondecreasing step response, respectively. The latter condition can be extended to the sufficient conditions for the monotone nondecreasing step response of high-order systems.

  • In this paper, a three-phase AC-DC high step-up converter is developed for application to microscale wind-power generation systems. Such an AC-DC boost converter prossessess the property of the single-switch high step-up DC-DC structure. For power factor correction, the advanced half-stage converter is operated under the discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). Simulatanously, to achieve a high step-up voltage gain, the back half-stage functions in the continuous conduction mode (CCM). A high voltage gain can be obtained by use of an output-capacitor mass and a coupled inductor. Compared to the output voltage, the voltage stress is decreased on the switch. To lessen the conducting losses, a low rated voltage and small conductive resistance MOSFETs are adopted. In addition, the coupled inductor retrieves the leakage-inductor energy. The operation principle and steady-state behavior are analyzed, and a prototype hardware circuit is realized to verify the performance of the proposed converter.

  • In this paper, we slightly improve the Baby-step Giant-step for certain elliptic curves. This method gives the running time improvement of $200\%$ in precomputation (Baby-step) and requires half as much storage as the original Baby-step Giant-step method.

  • In this study, we propose a small high voltage power supply which use a half-bridge ZCS resonant and Cockroft-Walton on circuit, for ESP (Electrostatic Precipitator). This power supply transfers energy from ZCS resonant inverter to step-up transformer and the transformer secondary is applied to the Cockroft-Walton circuit for generating high voltage as discharging source of electrodes. It is highly efficient because its amount of switching losses are reduced by virtue of the current resonant half-bridge inverter, and also due to the small size, low parasitic capacitance in the transformer stage owing to the low number of winding turns of the step up transformer secondary combined with the Cockroft-Walton circuit. From these results, the best operational condition is obtained at the switching frequency of 9 kHz and the duty ratio of 50 % in this ESP.

  • This paper is shown that the impulse and unit step response of second-order system can be computed by the analytic methods using Laplace transform. Also, the transient response specifications are explicitly formulated by the peak undershoot and maximum overshoot of the step response. Three different second-order systems are investigated: prototype system, system with LHP(left half plane) real zero, and system with RHP(right half plane) real zero. Based on these analytic results, this paper presents the sufficient and necessary conditions for the second-order linear SISO(single-input/single-output) stable system to have the nonovershooting or monotone nondecreasing step response.

  • We propose a high voltage dc-dc converter for a CW (continuous wave) $CO_2$ laser system using a current resonant half-bridge inverter and a Cockcroft-Walton circuit. This high voltage power supply includes a 2-stage voltage multiplier driven by a regulated half-bridge series resonant inverter. The inverter drives a step-up transformer and the secondary transformer is applied to the voltage multiplier. It is highly efficient because of the reduced amount of switching losses by virtue of the current resonant half-bridge inverter, and also due to the small size, low parasitic capacitance in the transformer stage owing to the low number of winding turns of the step up secondary transformer combined with the Cockroft-Walton circuit. We obtained a maximum laser output power of 44 W and a maximum system efficiency of over 16%.
