아테놀올의 체내동태에 대한 신장해의 영향 (Effect of Renal Failure on Pharmacokinetics of Atenolol in Rabbits)

  • The pharmacokinetics of atenolol (25 mg/kg, i.v.) in the folate-induced renal failure rabbits was studied. Renal failure was induced by the i.v. injection of folate (50, 100, and 200 mg/kg). At folate dose of 100 and 200 mg/kg, the serum creatinine concentration (Scr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) increased significantly compared with control rabbits. Plasma concentrations and AUC of atenolol increased significantly at folate dose of 100 and 200 mg/kg. The elimination rate constant $(K_{el})$ and total body clearance $(CL_t)$ of atenolol decreased significantly, and half-life ($t_{1/2}$) and mean residence time (MRT) of atenolol increased significantly at folate dose of 100 and 200 mg/kg. The serum creatinine concentration $(S_{cr})$ correlated well (p<0.05) with half-life $(t_{1/2})$ and elimination rate constant $(K_{el})$ of atenolol, as well as BUN with AUC and total body clearance $(CL_t)$ of atenolol.

  • To evaluate the pharmacokinetic properties and tissue distribution of a newly developed recombinant human erythropoietin (GC-rhEPO), we analyzed the plasma and tissue levels of erythropoietin by an ELISA after intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SC) adminstration to the male rats at the doses of 20, 100, 500 or 2,500 unit/kg. After single IV bolus injection of GC-rhEPO, the plasma concentration was rapidly increased and decreased with two phases with half-lives of 13.4 min and 2.94 hours. AUC was increased dose- dependently but plasma half-lives remained constant regardless of GC-rhEPO doses. Following SC administration, the plasma concentration increased slowly with half-life of 9.2 hours and reached peak at 8 hours. Mean residence time and bioavailability were 18.2 hours and 44%, respectively. After single IV dose of 100 unit/kg, tissue GC-rhEPO level was higher in bone marrow and spleen, while the depletion rate was slower in liver and bone marrow, indicating the higher affinity of GC-rhEPO to bone marrow. Taken together, the experimental results indicate that GC-rhEPO contained the typical pharmacokinetic properties and the tissue distribution patterns inherent to human erythropoietin.

20세기 초반 패션에 나타난 파시즘 (Fascism Expressed in the First Half of the Twentieth Century Fashion)

  • Fascism is a term that began to be used from the late 1930s, means an idea and a system that the strong power of the state intervenes or control people's life based on the argument that the existential value of individuals is found only in the total. Fascist looks, which resulted from World War I and II, had brought a new pattern in women's fashion inspired by men's military uniforms. Thus, the purpose of this study was to identify fascist fashion trends in the first half of the twentieth century and to infer various aesthetic values of fascism expressed in fascist fashion looks. The results of this study indicated that expressions of fascism reflected the current ideology of rebellion and appealed to the original national sentiment of the masses. Fascism occurred in response to the contradiction of capitalism and its general crisis had emerged as an ideology with the highest popularity symbolizing power and government during the first half of the twentieth century. It was expressed in military looks as self-centered nationalism and yearning for minorities. Second, fascist fashion looks were not only for political and sexual temptation with the image of power but also for the display of women's status and roles through the bold expression of sexual attractiveness. Finally, fascist fashion looks expressed medieval images praising the feudal age in imagination that contained heroism and at the same time achieved integration under strict social hierarchical order.

  • Hirudin is a potent inhibitor of thrombin, which was originally obtained from the medicinal leech (Hirudo medicinalis) Now it is being produced through the recombinant technology on a large scale. Recombinant hirudin has been assayed for the anticoagulant activity by the measurement of clotting time and the inhibition of thrombin actvity using a chromogenic substrate. The assay range of partial thromboplastin time and thrombin time is within $0.2{\sim}1.0 {\mu}g/mι.$ Thrombin time is more sensitive to the measurement of clot. Ex vivo study showed the level of hirudin in rat plasma was highest in 10 min and then it was eliminated slowly. The half-life of r-hirudin was 80~110 min depending on the assay methods. Intraveneous injection of russel viper venom was used for thrombus induction combined with vents cava ligation. Inhibition of venous thrombosis was observed with i.v. hirudin. It was dependent on the concentration of hirudin.

리팜피신과 이소니아짓의 약물상호작용 (Drug Interaction of Rifampicin and Isotiazid)

  • Rifampicin suspension was administered orally at a does of 34mg/kg to six rabbits after 5, 10 and 20mg/kg pretreatment of isoniazid twice daily for 9 days. The blood level of rifampicin was decreased significantly by isoniazid 10mg/kg 20mg/kg pretraetment. The renal clearance(CLr) of rifampicin was increased by isoniazid 20mg/kg and the biliary clearance(CLb) was incresed by isoniazid 10mg/kg and 20mg/kg pretreatmetn. Elimination rate constant(K) and time to reach maximum concentration(tmax) were increased by isoniazicl pretreatment. But half-life and maximum concentration(C max) were decreased. Relative bioavailability was decreased significantly by isoniazid 10mg/kg and 20mg/kg pretreatment.

  • A new photochromic spiroxazine dye having a pyridinium s-triazine moiety has been prepared. It shows a reversible photochemical color change from colorless to reddish-purple in ethanol solution. In ethanol solution the half life time of the open form was 150sec, which was shortened by raising temperature. Silica-immobilized spiroxazine(6). Fine power of silica-immobilized spiroxazine was changed intensely blue from colorless by U.V. light or sunlight.

  • Recently great efforts and investment have been made in order to evaluate concrete durability by steel corrosion. But most of study is relatively or qualitatively estimated, therefore it has a great limitation in evaluating a remaining service life of concrete. In this research, steel corrosion rate was measured quantitatively by polarization resistance method and multi-regressed considering chloride, carbonation, coverage depth, relative humidity, W/C, and the use of deicing salts. And a half cell potential method was used at th same time for the purpose of comparing with polarization resistance method.

산소발생 폐쇄식 SCBA의 서비스 수명 예측 프로그램 -예비연구- (Program for Estimating Service Time for Oxygen Generating Closed-Circuit SCBA -Pilot Study-)

  • A oxygen generating closed-circuit SCBA for escape from fire will be newly developed and then a program for estimating service time for it should be required. A SCBA made on an experimental basis consisted of five components such as half facepiece (mask), $KO_2$ box, oxygen reservoir, $CO_2$ remover and hood. The half mask had a good fitting performance since fit factors for 10 subjects were all above 100. It was found that height of subjects should be the best variable to estimate service time. Measured service time was inversely correlated with height of subjects. Service life time could be estimated by interpolation and extrapolation using inverse relationship between height and measured service time, for example, 28 minutes for male and female of 170 cm during resting, 10 minutes at the walk of 4 km/h and 5 minutes at the walk of 6 km/h considering safety margin of 20%. The study implies that program for estimating service time for the SCBA should require subject's height, speed of walk (4 km/h and 6 km/h) and fit testing. Considering safety margin, selecting younger subjects would be better. The study on the number of subjects and selecting facial dimensions should be more needed for the final program.

Alteplase와 pamiteplase에 의한 MMPs 조절 효과 비교 (Comparison of Effects between Alteplase and Pamiteplase on MMPs Regulation)

  • 뇌졸중 환자에 사용되는 tPA치료법은 혈전을 용해시키고 혈액의 흐름을 용이하게 해 주기 때문에 매우 중요하게 사용되고 있다. 동물 실험모델을 이용한 이전의 실험결과에 따르면 tPA뿐 아니라 tPA의 일종인 pamite-plase 역시 30분 이내 탁월한 혈전 용해의 효과를 보여주었다. 그러나 fPA치료법은 단시간 처리와 출혈, 부종과 같은 여러 가지 부작용이 수반될 수 있으며 이들은 MMP-9의 활성 조절과 깊은 관련이 있는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 임상에 사용되는 tPA의 한 종류인 alteplase와 이러한 부정적인 효과를 극복하기 위해 개발된 pamiteplase의 MMP-9활성에 미치는 효과를 비교 분석하였다. 랫트의 뇌로부터 추출한 신경세포에서 alteplase의 처리는 농도의존적으로 MMP-9의 발현을 촉진시켰고 활성화된 형태의 MMP-2역시 증가되는 양상을 보였다. 반면, pamiteplase의 경우 MMP-2와 MMP-9의 발현양상에 영항을 미치지 않았다. 유사한 효과는 뇌신경계를 구성하는 다른 세포인 성상세포에서도 관찰되었다. 즉 대뇌의 성상세포를 분리, 배양하여 이들의 효과를 확인한 결과 신경세포에서와 마찬가지로 alteplase의 경우 농도의존적으로 증가하였고 pamiteplasse의 경우 변화를 나타내지 않았다. Pamiteplase는 뇌신경구성세포에서 출혈과 부종을 유도하는 데 관련이 있는 것으로 보고된 MMP-9의 활성에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 보아 alteplase에 비해 보다 효과적인 치료제로서의 가능성을 보여주고 있다.

서울 지역 그룹홈 아동과 청소년의 식생활 실태 조사 (A Survey on the Dietary Life Status of Group Home Children and Adolescents in Seoul Region)

  • This research involved a survey on the dietary patterns of children and adolescents living in group homes, to find out their wrong eating habits and to devise measures for correcting their problems. The BMIs of the subject children and adolescents in group homes were measured, and the result showed that although many of them appeared to have normal weights, about 42.2% were actually underweight. Most of them had meals regularly, three times a day at fixed times. However, half of them frequently skipped breakfast because of the lack of time in the morning. In addition, more than half of them had the habit of having imbalanced diets, especially with low vegetable intake. The score for their satisfaction toward meals at group homes were highest (3.97) with the taste of food, while it was relatively lower (3.61) with the variety of food than with the other items. The average score for their snack intake was 3.47, showing that the majority of them had the habit of eating snacks, while the largest portion (26.0%) of them preferred bread and cookies. According to the result of the analysis on their food intake, overall calorie intake was about 82~96% of estimated energy requirements, while that of the male subjects aged 12 or older was about 82% of the standard energy requirements. Their overall intake of calcium and potassium was lower than recommended nutrition intake, but sodium intake was higher than 3 times recommended intake. Especially, in addition to calcium and potassium, the male subjects aged 15 or older showed low intake of dietary fiber, iron, zinc, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin C and folate also; whereas the female subjects aged 15 or older showed low intake of iron, zinc, riboflavin and folate also. Taken together, it was concluded that government level of dietary life-related support and management would be necessary for the healthy growth and development of children and adolescents in group homes.
