  • For this study, a new hydraulic control unit which designed in compact compared to the currently manufactured hydraulic control unit for ABS has been introduced and its experimental model has been made. Based on the basic principle as ABS using braking force characteristics against slip ratio of tire, half car model bench tester were designed and made to make an analysis of braking effect of the new hydraulic control unit. Experiment for slip ratio characteristics of tire has been carried out using half car model bench tester and with the results of this experiment and control experiment of the new hyraulic control unit, the experiment result of the characteristics of tire and control experiment were compared to find out their correspondence. And furthermore, slip ratio characteristics of the new hydraulic control unit has been studied based on the experiment result of slip ratio characteristics of tire through simulation and compared with experiment result.

  • This paper describes the static and dynamic characteristics of body mount system which are to be considered in the early design stage. At every location of body mount the static load and dynamic response to road input were calculated using the half car model. Normal mode analysis for the half car model was also performed. In the analysis the design parameters such as the stiffness of mount rubbers and their distribution on mount location were examined for improving ride comfort especially in the lower frequency range.

  • To improve the ride comfort and handling characteristics of a vehicle, an active suspension which is controlled by external actuators can be used. An active suspension can control the vertical acceleration of a vehicle and the tire deflection to achieve the desired suspension goal. For this purpose, Model Predictive Control (MPC) scheme is applied with the assumption that the preview information of the oncoming road disturbance is available. The predictive control approach uses the output prediction to forecast the output over a time horizon and determines the future control over the horizon by minimizing the performance index. The developed method is applied to a half car model of four degrees-of-freedom and numerical simulations show that the MPC controller improves noticeably the ride qualities and handling performance of a vehicle.

ANFIS 기반 경로추종 운동제어에 의한 모형차량의 자동주차 (Autonomous Parking of a Model Car with Trajectory Tracking Motion Control using ANFIS)

  • In this study an ANFIS-based trajectory tracking motion control algorithm is proposed for autonomous garage and parallel parking of a model car. The ANFIS controller is trained off-line using data set which obtained by Mandani fuzzy inference system and thereby the processing time decreases almost in half. The controller with a steering delay compensator is tuned through simulations performed under MATLAB/Simulink environment. Experiments are carried out with the model car for garage and parallel parking. The experimental results show that the trajectory tracking performance is satisfactory under various initial and road conditions

  • Sound transmission from the luggage comparment into the car cabin is important in the viewpoint if exhaust and road noises of passenger cars. In this paper, acoustic modal coupling between passenger and luggage compartments through loudspeaker holes at parcel shelf is dealt with for a sedan type passenger car with rigid rear seat. For these purposes, a half-scaled model car is tested and computed by the indirect BEM. Predicted acoustic transfer functions are compared with experimental ones and they agree reasonably well. It is found that the fore-aft resonance frequencies of the passenger cavity in the absence of coupling holes are tend to shift to higher frequencies when the luggage compartment is coupled to the passenger cavity.

승용차 차실모델의 진동 및 소음특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the vibration and noise characteristics of vehicle compartment model)

  • It is desirable to predict the noise and vibration problems of a passenger car in its design stage for a better ride quality. Dominant frequencies of the noise inside a car range from about 50 Hz to 300 Hz and these are frequently caused by the coupling of the acoustic normal modes of the compartment cavity and structural modes of the body. In this paper, car interior noise problem is investigated in view of vibration-acoustic modes coupling and numerical simulation is performed on the interior noise. In the simulation, experimental modal data of the vehicle structure are utilized to improve the accuracy of the analysis. The results are in good agreement with those of experiment on a half scaled vehicle compartment model. Especially, strongly coupled modes can be predicted, which give useful informations to solve noise problems of real car at design stage.

광무선통신기술을 이용한 차량간 메시지전달링크의 링크전송확률 분석 (Transmission Probability of Car-to-Car Message Delivery Link based on Visible Light Communications)

  • 본 논문의 연구내용은 차량간 통신에 응용이 가능한 조명용 LED 광통신 링크의 링크전송성공율 분석에 관한 연구로서, 가시광통신에 기반한 차량간 메시지 전달 시스템을 모델링 하고, 광수신 파워를 통해 신호대 잡음비 (signal-to-noise ratio)를 계산하고, 이에 따른 링크 전송성공확률을 계산함으로써, 가시광통신에 기반한 차량간 무선통신이 가능함을 검증하는 것이다. 저속이동 또는 정지 중인 차량의 후미등을 광송신기로 사용하고 후방차량의 전방에 장착된 광수신기를 이용하는 메시지 전달시스템에 있어, 각 차량의 위치가 정규확률분포를 따를 때, 광송신기 및 광수신기의 물리적 특성에 따른 링크전송성공확률을 계산한다. 먼저, 정규확률분포에 따라 차량의 위치를 랜덤하게 생성한 후, 각각의 광링크에 해당하는 BER을 계산하였다. 이를 통해, 전체 링크 중 $BER{\leq}10^{-6}$을 만족하는 링크의 비율을 링크전송성공율로 정의한 결과, 송신 광파워가 400mW이고 광송신기의 semi-angle at half power가 30도인 최적화되지 않은 차량간 광링크의 경우, 링크 전송성공율 90% 이상이 가능함을 확인하였다.

가상시험기법을 이용한 승용차 전륜 알루미늄 서브프레임 내구설계 (Durability Design of a Passenger Car Front Aluminum Sub-frame using Virtual Testing Method)

  • Durability performance evaluation of automotive components is very important and time consuming task. In this paper, to reduce vehicle component development time and cost virtual testing simulation technology is used to evaluate durability performance of a passenger car front aluminum sub-frame. Multibody dynamics based vehicle model and virtual test simulation model of a half car road simulator are validated by comparisons between rig test results and simulation results. Durability life prediction of the sub-frame is carried out using the model with road load data of proving ground which can evaluate accelerated durability life. We found that the durability performance of the sub-frame is sufficient and it can be predicted within short time compared to rig test time.

대차 틸팅 기구의 동적 해석 (Dynamic Analysis of a Bogie Tilting Mechanism)

  • Using a conventional railway, a tilting train was applied as a means of improving vehicle speed curve negotiation without any modification of infrastructure. In order to achieve the optimal car-body position control through the tilting mechanism, a dynamics analysis was required after the kinematics analysis of the tilting mechanism. For this, the geometric relationship of the linkage-type tilting mechanism was defined. Then, the equations of motion for the half car-body were derived. With the derived equations, the effect of the parameter change on performance was analyzed. The analysis result can be used in the optimum design of a tilting mechanism that considers the track environment, vehicle and operational conditions in which the tilting vehicle is applied.

바람잡음을 고려한 자동차에서의 음성인식 성능 향상 (Improvement of Speech Recognition Performance in Running Car by Considering Wind Noise)

  • This paper describes an efficient method for improving the noise-robustness in speech recognition in a running car by considering wind noise. In driving car, mainly three kind of noises engine noise, tire noise and wind noise, are severely affect recognition performance. Especially wind noise is an important factor in driving car with window opened. We analyzed wind noise in various driving conditions that are 60, 80, 100 km/h with window fully opened, window half opened. We clarified that the recognition rate is significantly degenerated when the wind noise components in the frequency range above 200 Hz are large. We developed a preprocessing method to improve the noise robustness despite of wind noise. We adaptively changed the cutoff frequency of the front-end high-pass filter from 100 through 200 Hz according to the level of the wind noise components. By this method, the recognition rate is considerably improved for all kind of driving conditions
