  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of the men's costumes of the ruling class of the Heian period by studying the costumes demonstrated in the ${\ll}$Won-si-mul-eo-heo-gwon${\gg}$, a picture album of the Heian period. The findings of this study are as follows. The costumes shown in the ${\ll}$Won-si-mul-eo-heo-gwon${\gg}$, can be classified into two types. One of the types is the costumes that were newly made in the Heian period such as Jik-eui, Su-eui, Ha-seub, Sok-dae-jang-sok. The other type, period including Omoja, Ji-gwan, Pyo-go is the costumes that were made by modifying the costumes of the previous. The costumes of the Heian period were evolved into a new type of outfit by changing the way of wearing them, their form, and their color. The costumes became various in types, became bigger in form, and used various colors. As a result, the costumes of the Heian period were developed into more colorful and fancier compared to those of the previous period. The costumes of the Heian period can be interpreted as japanized-embracing and japanizing the culture of the continent-costumes of the previous period rather than as simply copying the costumes of the continent. The driving force of this phenomenon can be analyzed as the effect of japanization that was widespread in the culture in general of the Heian period. This japanization made it possible to create peculiar and genuine costumes of the Heian period.

  • A Caulobacter crescentus epoxide hydrolase(CCEH) from a recombinant Escherichia coli was purified to homogeneity using a three-step procedure. The CCEH protein was purified 7.3-fold with a 22.9% yield in overalll activity. The optimal reaction temperature and pH were determined to be $37^{\circ}C$ and pH 8.0, respectively. The addition of 10%(v/v) dimethylsulfoxide as a cosolvent improved the enantioselectivity of CCEH for a batch kinetic resolution of racemic indene oxide.

  • This paper attempts to maximize the operator's revenue while simultaneously providing a multi-constraint, multi-hop and deterministic QoS provisioning for real time traffic in IEEE 802.16m based 4G networks. The optimal solution to such a problem is NP-complete and therefore not feasible to be solved in a tolerable polynomial time. For this reason, we also provide a simple price based greedy heuristic to be used along with the admission control. Simulation results for different QoS schemes show that the heuristic produces a revenue that is very close to the optimal revenue, and is far more aggressive than the size based and other common algorithms that are computationally feasible to be implemented in IEEE 802.16m.

  • In this paper it is focused on the relation between CLR (Cell Loss Ratio) and blocking probability, GoS(Grade of Services) parameters in the wireless ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) access network which consists of access node and wireless channel. Traffic model of wireless ATM access network is based on the cell scale, burst scale and call connection level. The CLR equation due to buffer overflow for wireless access node is derived for CBR (Constant Bit Rate) traffic. The CLR equation due to random bit errors and burst errors for wireless channel is derived. Using the CLR equation for both access node and wireless channel, the CLR equation of wireless ATM access network is derived. The relation between access network CLR and blocking probability is analyzed for CBR traffic.

  • The Vapor-liquid equilibrium data for the binary system of 2-methyl-2-propanol-2-butanone are measured at subatmospheric pressure of 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700 and 760 torr. This study shows that the relations between logarithmic values of relative valatility(log ${\alpha}$)and liquid phase composition(${\chi}$) in the above binary systems are expressed as a linear function. When the linear relationships of between logarithmic values of relative volatilities and liquid phase compositions in the binary systems of various pressure intersect at a point, this empirical equation can be applied to the systems of this kind. From these relations the vapor-liquid equilibrium data are estimated and compared with the measured values to be in a good agreement with in accuracy ${\pm}0.0021$ for the various pressure.

  • We made a new sample design for life and consciousness survey of Kyungpook people in 2007. We used the 10% sample survey data of 2005 population and housing census as a survey population. After stratification, we allocate proportionally samples within strata after examining various characteristics in previous survey, which includes economic activity state, an income level per year, and housing possession. And we calculated weight in a new sample design and derived estimators and a formula of standard error using the weights.

  • To develop lipstick products with superior moisturizing effect using moisture base, bound water capacity and water holding capacity were investigated by DSC. Bound water capacity of the lipstick sample excluding moisture base is found to be 5.12 %. DSC measurement showed that bound water capacity and the concentration of moisture base were positively correlated. Additionally, DSC measurements and in vitro effective water holding capacity measurement showed similar patterns. Therefore, measuring of bound water capacity by DSC can predict the moisturizing effect of lipstick products.

  • There was no difference in total light transmissivity of covering materials. But the light transmittance of J-2 in greenhouse was by 78.25 which was higher than any other film. The high light transmittance of J-2 was come from low water condensation and dust attached in film surface. The ultraviolet light of J-3 was completely intercepted. The ultraviolet transmittance rate of others was from 62 to 76%. In no heating oriental melon cultivation, the air temperature in tunnel was 15 to $21^{\circ}C$ higher than outer, and the soil temperature in tunnel was 20 to $25^{\circ}C$ higher than outer. Air temperature and soil temperature of J-2 were higher than any other film.

  • The objective of this study was carried out to elucidate the effect of LEDs (light emitting diodes) irradiation in relation to early growth and inorganic elements in leaf lettuce (Lactuca sativa L. 'Rollo Rosa'). In morphological changes of leaves, shoot elongation and hypocotyl length showed poor growth in red light irradiation, while the red + blue light irradiation induced shorter plant height and much greater leaf numbers resulting in increased fresh weight. In change of the Hunter's color and SPAD values, lettuce seedlings grown under in red + blue and fluorescent light irradiation had a higher $a^*$ value, otherwise SPAD values were not changed in these light irradiations. Interestingly, relative chlorophyll contents showed 1.8 times increased redness in the treatment of red + blue light irradiation. Inorganic element (N, Ca, Mg, Mn, and Fe) and ascorbic acid contents were increased in lettuce plants grown under LEDs light irradiation compared to those of lettuce grown under the fluorescent light which showed higher P and Mn contents. In conclusion, it is considered that red + blue light irradiation which stimulates growth and higher nutrient uptake in leaf lettuce could be employed in containers equipped with LEDs.

  • In this study, a resonant column testing system which is the largest in Korea has been developed to evaluate the dynamic deformation characteristics of coarse granular geomaterials, and the performance and the applicability of the testing system have been verified. The system has been developed as a typical Stokoe type device whose boundary conditions are fixed bottom and free top with additional mass, and can adopt a large specimen with 200 mm in diameter and 400 mm in height. The driving and measurement instruments are configured as high performance and precision systems, hence the automated testing system is appropriate to drive enough stress and to measure the behavior precisely for the test in practical manner. The dynamic response of the mechanical components and the applicability of the system have been evaluated using metal specimens as well as polyurethane specimens, and its precision was verified by comparing its results with those from other equipment and/or methods. To confirm the applicability of the large system for coarse geomaterials, the resonant column test results from both large and normal scale apparatus for the same material were compared and it was found that the result can be partially affected by scale. Finally, the dynamic deformation characteristics of coarse geomaterial which is used for construction of large dam was evaluated using the large system and its practicality could be confirmed.
