Adaptive Fuzzy Output Feedback Control based on Observer for Nonlinear Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning System

  • A Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system is a nonlinear multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system. This system is very difficult to control the temperature and the humidity ratio of a thermal space because of complex nonlinear characteristics. This paper proposes an adaptive fuzzy output feedback control based on observer for the nonlinear HVAC system. The nonlinear HVAC system is linearized through dynamic extension. State observers are designed for estimating state variables of the HVAC system. Fuzzy systems are employed to approximate uncertain nonlinear functions of the HVAC system with unavailable state variables. The obtained controller compares with an adaptive feedback controller. Simulation is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed adaptive fuzzy method.

  • Numerical simulation is conducted to clarify the heat transfer and fluid flow characteristics of HVAC(Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning} for double-deck train. The HVAC system is installed under the roof of carbody. In the lay-out of HVAC system, air duct must be installed to supply air to 1st and 2nd floor respectively. The standard k-epsilon turbulent models and SIMPLEC algorithm based on finite volume method are used to solve the physical HVAC model. To assure convergence, QUICK scheme for momentum equation and the first order upwind scheme for turbulent equations are used. From the results of simulation, the temperature and velocity magnitude are also distributed uniformly in the interior of passenger car.

  • In this study. the acoustic power balancing method to analysis HVAC system noise is presented. The method can consider not only forward but also backward propagations of noise generated by the operation of air supply units and aerodynamical disturbance at duct elements. This can be done by estimating sound transmission and reflection properties of duct elements. and balancing acoustic powers of total HVAC system. To verify the accuracy of the presented method. numerical analysis for a HVAC system is carried out and the results are compared with those obtained by a traditional empirical method. suggested by National Environmental Balancing Bureau.

  • In this paper, we introduce noise prediction program of HVAC system to assist low-noisy design of ship's cabin. The developed program calculates sound power levels at HVAC components considering primary and secondary noise generated by fan and duct element, duct element noise attenuation, and duct break-in noise based on the authentic empirical method suggested by NEBB and acoustic power balancing method. Sound pressure level at cabin with or without ceiling system is evaluated by the diffuse-field theory considering diffuser and duct break-out sound powers. Moreover, the program provides intuitive pre- and post-processors using modem GUI functions to help efficient modeling and evaluation of cabin and HVAC component noise. To validate the accuracy and convenience of the program, noise prediction for a HVAC system is demonstrated.

고속 염기서열 분석법을 이용한 자동차 공조 시스템(HAVC systems)의 악취 연관 곰팡이 군집 특성 (Characterization of odor-associated fungal community in automobile HVAC systems using a high-throughput DNA sequencing method)

  • The Automobile HVAC system is a habitat for odor-associated fungal communities. We investigated the odor-associated fungal community in an automobile HVAC system using a high-throughput DNA sequencing method. The fungal community structure was evaluated via metagenome analysis. At the phylum level, Ascomycota and Basidiomycota were detected, accounting for 43.41% and 56.49% of the fungal community in the HVAC system, respectively. Columnosphaeria (8.31%), Didymella (5.60%), Davidiella (5.50%), Microxyphium (4.24%), unclassified Pleosporales (2.90%), and Cladosporium (2.79%) were abundant at phylum of Ascomycota and Christiansenia (36.72%), Rhodotorula (10.48%), and Sporidiobolus (2.34%) were abundant at phylum of Basidiomycota. A total of 22 genera of fungi were isolated and identified from the evaporators of the HVAC systems which support fungal growth and biofilm formation. Among them, Cladosporium, Penicillium, Aspergillus, and Alternaria are the most representative odor-associated fungi in HVAC systems. They were reported to form biofilm on the surface of HVAC systems with other bacteria by hypha. In addition, they produce various mVOCs such as 3-methyl-1-butanol, acetic acid, butanoic acid, and methyl isobutyl ketone. Our findings may be useful for extending the understanding of odor-associated fungal communities in automobile HVAC systems.

  • HVAC&R systems are the most energy consuming building services, representing approximately half of the final energy use in the building sector. Despite their significant energy use, there is a lack of a consistent and homogeneous framework to efficiently guide research. This research is about the energy consumptions of HVAC&R systems, with the aim of establishing a common idea for the analysis of building energy efficiency. Our approach deals with the concept of an HVAC&R set that is composed of subsystems. A matrix combination evaluation is examined, and a total of 960 sets can be implemented in a large scale office building. A method as a tool for energy evaluations of HVAC&R systems, and HEET as a energy simulation program, were developed.

This research reviews energy consumption of HVAC&R systems with the aim of establishing a common idea for the analysis of energy efficiency. The paper focuses on energy flow of the HVAC&R which include air-conditioning, transport and heat generation system for low-energy buildings.

  • 원자력 시설의 공기조화 시스템은 일반시설의 공기조화 시스템에 비하여 더 안정되고 여유있게 설치 및 시공되어야 한다. 그 목적은 최적 작업환경유지, 오염 공기로부터의 작업자 보호, 외부배기로 인한 대기오염 방지 등이다. 낮은 공기오염조차 막는 것이 원자력시설의 안전한 운전을 위해 기본적인 것이다. 설계 시 시스템의 융통성을 갖는 설계가 필요한데 이는 나중에 시스템의 수정보완 등을 고려할 때 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 원자력시설의 공기조화계통 설계에 고려해야 할 내용 및 외국시설에 대하여 검토하였는바, 원자력시설의 공기조화계통 설계에 활용될 수 있겠다.

플라스틱 연료탱크 생산 설비에서의 소비 전력 저감을 위한 공조 시스템 설계 및 경제성 평가 (Design and Economics of HVAC System for Reduction of Power Consumption in Blow Mold Machine)

  • This study was carried out to improve the electric power consumption of HVAC in the blow mold machine(BMM) and work environment. The experiment was conducted with the simulated HVAC system of 1/15 of the actual BMM. The temperature of main facility and two preheaters was fixed at 200 and $60^{\circ}C$ respectively in all test conditions. The measured points of temperature were chosen as critical locations considering the work environment. The tendency of temperature distributions decreases as the duct was closed to the main facility. The reduction rate of power consumption of HVAC increases up to 32.3% when both duct and cooling systems are operated. Also the efficiency of HVAC is improved about 9% through the modified design of duct system. It notes that the electric power consumption of HVAC can be reduced by the optimum design and operating condition of duct and cooling system.
