  • 첨단교통관리시스템, 첨단교통정보시스템, 첨단대중교통시스템, 첨단화물운송시스템, 첨단차량 및 도로시스템으로 구성된 한국형 ITS는 적절히 설계, 전개, 운용된다면, 교통체증, 연료, 비용, 공해, 사고 등의 감소와 함께 운전자의 수행도 및 효율성의 향상을 꾀할 수 있다. 그러나, 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해서는 운전자 및 조작자의 새로운 기술과 시스템들에 대한 중요성 및 시스템의 통합이 중요한 요건으로 작용되며, 인간공학은 이러한 과정에 있어 운전자 및 시스템조작자의 물리적, 인지적 한계를 규명하고 이를 시스템 설계에 반영하는 설계 가이드라인 작성에서 실제 평가까지의 과정에 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 즉, TMC, AVHS 등의 시스템과 함께 주요한 차내 정보시스템인 항법장치, HUD, RDS-TMC등에 걸쳐 널리 적용되고 있으며, 인간공학은 각각의 시스템뿐만 아닌 전체 ITS의 성공적인 시장성 확보와 전개에도 중요한 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인으로 간주되고 있다. 또한, ISO TC 204 등에 의해 수용되고 있는 인간공학 표준화작업은 장차 ITS의 국제시장 진출 및 산업화를 위한 중요한 문제로 대두되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 국내외 TS에서의 이간공학 적용 및 표준화 동향을 제시함으로써, 한국형 ITS의 인간공학 적용 및 표준화 연구를 위한 기반적인 내용의 제공과 함께, 국내의 연구 및 표준화 작업을 위한 방안을 제시한다.

  • The current study investigated the effect of user interface design on metaverse user's objective task performance, perceived usefulness, presence, and enjoyment. Using a 2 × 2 within-subject repeated measure experimental design, we found that users perceived the interface to be significantly more useful when additional visual cues existed and performed better for the given task. Additionally, a repeated-measure mediation analysis revealed that the effect of richer information in the interface on users' enjoyment as a function of need satisfaction was mediated by perceived usefulness. Theoretical and practical implication are derived from the result of the current study.

  • New equipment that is useful for driving is developing every day. Navigation is one of the most popular equipment among them. Telematics market including navigation is getting bigger and bigger. However, traffic accident from using telematics equipment is also increasing. Drivers may lose glance using navigation, and driver's workload will also grow by driver's distraction. This thesis is base on the study about the influence on the drivers' workload by using the telematics equipment. Previous study of drivers' workload used psychological method and behavior test method, but it was less connection with telematics equipment. The main object of this thesis is measuring the workload according to the telematics usage by HMI (Human Machine Interface) in the virtual reality. Therefore, we developed GPS simulator, and made an experiment of whether using the navigation or not on the highway and an experiment of the location of navigation in downtown. The result of these experiments is that workload when driver used navigation was higher than when driver didn't use navigation. In addition, workload was different according to the location, and HUD (Head-Up Display) was especially higher than other locations but also its information delivery ability was the best.

Analysis of Homogenized Laser Beam Display by a Polymeric Stretchable Diffuser (스트레쳐블 폴리머 디퓨저를 이용한 균질 레이저 디스플레이 해석)

  • A stretchable polymeric membrane shaped diffuser was used to homogenize the coherent laser beam. The developed RGB module was used to focus and defocus test by beam combiners. Average oscillation frequency was set at 180Hz~300Hz and it resulted in the best homogenization effect in visual range. The blue laser module turned out to be the worst case for the transmission and primary reason is believed to be the short length of irradiated laser beam. The developed system removed the speckling and the brightness was decreased by 10 ~ 20% for the RGB laser. Overall the brightness was decreased by 13% and homogenity with respect to the temporal axis was improved from 30fs to 110fs.

  • In this paper, the intelligent smart monitor system is implemented for the next generation vehicle. to mitigate the numerous effects of distractions within the vehicle, it is vital to put critical information where the driver can use it without affection focus on the road ahead. Audible alarms are useful supplements when used in conjunction with visual displays. But driving is an overwhelmingly visual task. To optimize a vehicle's active safety systems, more than just audible alarms are necessary. The driver needs a visual interface that focuses his or her attention on the road ahead. The most commonly viewed information in a vehicle is from the instrument cluster, where speed, tachometer, fuel, engine temperature, fuel gauge, turn indicators and warning lights provide the driver with an array of fundamental information. TFT LCD, LCD Back light led, plane mirror, lens and controllers parts were designed to intelligent integrated smart monitor system. Finally, in this paper, we analyze intelligent integrated smart monitor system for driver safety vehicles.

Development of Low Altitude Terrain Following System based on TERain PROfile Matching (TERPROM 기반의 저고도 지형추적시스템 개발)

  • A flight capability to take a terrain following flight near the ground is required to reduce the probability that a fighter aircraft can be detected by foe's radar fence in the battlefield. The success rate for mission flight has increased by adopting TFS (Terrain Following System) to enable the modern advanced fighter to fly safely near the ground at the low altitude. This system has applied to the state-of-the-art fighter and bomber, such as B-1, F-111, F-16 E/F and F-15, since the research begins from 1960's. In this paper, the terrain following system and GCAS (Ground Collision Avoidance System) was developed, based on a digital database with UTAS's TERPRROM (TERrain PROfile Matching) equipment. This system calculates the relative location of the aircraft in the terrain database by using the aircraft status information provided by the radar altimeter and the INS (Inertial Navigation System), based on the digital terrain database loaded previously in the DTC (Data Transfer Cartridge), and figures out terrain features around. And, the system is a manual terrain following system which makes a steering command cue refer to flight path marker, on the HUD (Head Up Display), for vertical acceleration essential for terrain following flight and enables a pilot to follow it. The cue is based on the recognized terrain features and TCH (Target Clearance Height) set by a pilot in advance. The developed terrain following system was verified in the real-time pilot evaluation in FA-50 HQS (Handling Quality Simulator) environment.

  • Head-Up Display, an information-providing display, is a device that provides necessary information through a vehicle window for a driver when driving, with which the driver secures the visibility and acquires information necessary for driving. Head-up displays in early days were mostly installed in imported vehicles but increasingly, being installed in medium and large-sized domestic vehicles, they secures convenience of driving and information acquirement. The information display element of each of currently released brand cars not only has limits in consistency and in displaying interface but also reveals the limitation of a way to apply GUI, being applied to dot reflective form in terms of the technology type. Accordingly, this study draws real time information element described as necessary during driving through case survey and analysis, and aims to provide a user with new GUI guideline through transparent display technology recently developed based on results analyzed with priority of POI(Point of Interest) information.

Implementation of Vertigo Warning function for FA-50 aircraft

  • Fighter pilots are taking 'Advanced Pilot Training' courses to perform their missions perfectly even under adverse conditions. However, there are accidents that fall due to problems with the human body's equilibrium in the acceleration of flight, falling into the 'Vertigo, Spatial disorientation' phenomenon. As such, accidents that fighters fall due to spatial disorientation frequently occur not only in Korea but also abroad. In this study, we implemented the 'Vertigo' warning function in the fighter. First, we analyzed the aircraft's mission computer and the currently implemented warning functions. And we studied the coordinate system to utilize the aircraft attitude information. Based on this, we wanted to provide a visual warning to the HUD when the fighter flies over a certain time in the inverted flight position. Implementing this feature is expected to improve pilot flight safety. In addition, based on the results of this study, we propose a method to implement warning functions through linkage with other subsystems.

Vanishing Line based Lane Detection for Augmented Reality-aided Driver Induction

  • In this paper, we propose the augmented reality(AR) based driving navigation based on robust lane detection method to dynamic environment changes. The proposed technique uses the detected lane position as a marker which is a key element for enhancing driving information. We propose Symmetrical Local Threshold(SLT) algorithm which is able to robustly detect lane to dynamic illumination environment change such as shadows. In addition, by using Morphology operation and Connected Component Analysis(CCA) algorithm, it is possible to minimize noises in the image, and Region Of Interest(ROI) is defined through region division using a straight line passing through several vanishing points We also propose the augmented reality aided visualization method for Interchange(IC) and driving navigation using reference point detection based on the detected lane coordinates inside and outside the ROI. Validation experiments were carried out to assess the accuracy and robustness of the proposed system in vairous environment changes. The average accuracy of the proposed system in daytime, nighttime, rainy day, and cloudy day is 79.3% on 4600 images. The results of the proposed system for AR based IC and driving navigation were also presented. We are hopeful that the proposed research will open a new discussion on AR based driving navigation platforms, and thus, that such efforts will enrich the autonomous vehicle services in the near future.
