The This study aims to verify the causal relationship among physically disability persons participation in exercise, heart rate variance, and facial expression recognition. To achieve such research goal, this study targeted 139 physically disability persons and as for sampling, purposive sampling method was applied. After visiting a sporting stadium and club facilities that sporting events were held and explaining the purpose of the research in detail, only with those who agreed to participate in the research, their heart rate variance and facial emotion awareness were measured. With the results of measurement, mean value, standard deviation, correlation analysis, and structural equating model were analyzed, and the results are as follows. The quantity of exercise positively affected sympathetic activity and parasympathetic activity of autonomic nervous system. Exercise history of physically disability persons was found to have a positive influence on LF/HF, and it had a negative influence on parasympathetic activity. Sympathetic activity of physically disability persons turned out to have a positive effect on the recognition of the emotion, happiness, while the quantity of exercise had a negative influence on the recognition of the emotion, sadness. These findings were discussed and how those mechanisms that are relevant to the autonomic nervous system, facial expression recognition of physical disability persons.
The levels of harmful components in aerosols from heated tobacco products (HTPs) have been reported to be significantly lower than in cigarette smoke. However, it remains unclear whether the use of HTPs can mitigate the cardiovascular risks associated with cigarette smoking (CS). The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of a short-term switch from CS to HTP use on cardiac autonomic regulation (CAR). Seven healthy male smokers completed an open-label, randomized, cross-over trial consisting of five days of CS, use of three different HTPs (IQOS use, IQ; lil SOLID use, LS; lil HYBRID use, LH), or non-smoking (NS). Each session was separated by a one-week washout period, and levels of exhaled carbon monoxide (CO) and carboxyhemoglobin (COHb), systolic (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and heart rate variability (HRV) reflecting CAR were assessed before use of the product assigned to each session and at 24, 48, 72, 96, and 120 hr after use. Levels of exhaled CO and COHb were statistically significantly reduced only during NS. There were no statistical changes in SBP and DBP within any session. However, in HRV spectral analysis, log-transformed high frequency (lnHF) increased statistically significantly in IQ, LS, and NS, respectively. Normalized HF (HFnu) was significantly increased in NS and LH, respectively. lnHF and HFnu showed significant interaction effects. The findings of this study suggest that a short-term switch to HTPs instead of CS may lead to different distribution patterns of CAR, primarily driven by enhanced cardiac vagal tone.
The purpose of this study is to statistically investigate the changes in mean differences of the vascular age types and index, heart beating, vessel elasticity, diastolic reserves contents measured by the fingertip plethysmogram before and after the subjects (49 people) visit the Gotjawal forest for two hours. While there is no significant change in the mean differences of vascular age types and index, heart beating, diastolic reserves contents in the control group before and after the visit, the differences in the test groups gets higher than the control group and shows a significant difference. Moreover, the variance analyses of the mean values of the contents shows a significant change after the visit. There is no significant change in the values of vessel elasticity changes between the groups after the visit, but the change of values is significant in the within group, and it is not significant between group by variance analysis. The differences of the heart beating was insignificant in the within group, but significant between group after the visit. In conclusion this study proves the effects of forest bathing, because the HRV index significantly improved after the bathing. Therefore the b-c-d-e/a ratio may be useful for evaluation of HRV.

In the present study, our aim is to investigate whether responses to the head-up tilt (HUT) on nonlinear properties of heart rate variability (HRV) in young and elderly subjects are different or not. Thirteen young-healthy subjects ($24.5{\pm}3.7$ years) and 18 old-aged healthy subjects ($74.5{\pm}7.4$ years) participated in this study. An electrocardiogram (ECG) in the supine posture, at $0^{\circ}$, and in the standing posture, at $70^{\circ}$ of head-up tilt, was recorded. Detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) and approximate entropy (ApEn), measures of short-/long-term correlation properties and overall complexity of heart rate (HR) respectively, along with spectral components of HR variability (HRV) were analyzed for both the supine and HUT postures. We observed that the short-term fractal exponent ${\alpha}_1$ increased during HUT posture (F(1, 29) = 39.79, P = 0.000), especially, the young subjects showed a significantly higher values compared to the elderly subjects. ApEn significantly decreased (F(1, 29) = 8.61, P = 0.006) during HUT posture. HUT posture decreased the complexity in HR dynamics and increased short-term fractal exponent values in young subjects but not in elderly subjects. These results imply that there are differences of response to HUT on nonlinear properties between young and elderly subjects.

Using driving simulator, we analyzed the driving behavior of an older driver on intersection and measured the pychological load to HRV. As a results, older drivers started to enter the more complex intersection on a great distance and on low velocity for safety driving. On the other hand, the value of HRV would be lower on more complex intersections. It suggested that an older driver allowed for his own losses of physiological and cognitive function and recognized low level of driving confidence relatively.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to explore the correlation between efficacy and various factors of the acne patients. Method : We reviewed 30 acne patients who visited Allergy/Derma-cosmetic Clinic at Kyung Hee Neo Medical Center from June, 2006 to December, 2007 and were treated with herbal medicine and acupuncture for 4 weeks. We investigated premenstrual aggravation of acne, facial burning sensation, constipation, Heart Rate Variability(HRV) results and regional distribution of acne. And we evaluated inflammatory acnes according to the Korean Acne Grading System(KAGS). Results & Conclusions : 1. The average age of total patients was 23.0 years old. The most frequent age group was 21-25 years old. Patients evaluated as KAGS Grade 2 were most common. 2. In total patients, inflammatory acne were reduced significantly after 4 weeks of treatment. 3. The result of analysis on premenstrual aggravation of acne, facial burning sensation and constipation, there weren't any difference of treatment results on statistical meaning. 4. The results show that there were significant correlations between the Low Frequency at HRV and the rate of acne reduction. (Pearson correlation = -0.565) 5. If the distribution of acne did not involve the T-zone of the face, chest, or back of the body, inflammatory acne were significantly decreased after 4 weeks of treatment.
In this paper, the power spectral analysis of heart rate variability(HRV) was performed to evaluate effects of orthostatic stress with head-up tiIt on autonomic nervous system(ANS) for 25 healthy male subjects(age : 24 $\pm$ 5 yr.) and a new method was proposed to assess the autonomic balance. The ECG and respiration signals were recorded at tiIt angles of $0^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$and $0^{\circ}$ successively for 10 minutes per each stage under the condition of frequency controlled respiration(0.25Hz). Heat rate(HR) gradually increased ils the angle increased Similarly, according to the increment of angle, normalized low frequency component(0.05-0.15Hz) gradually increased, whereas normalized high frequency component (0.20-0.30Hz) was reduce4 From these results it is speculated that orthostatic stress head-up tiLt, results in the prevalence of sympathetic tone in autonomic balance with the increment of sympathetic tone and the decrement of parasympathetic tone, which seems to meanthat autonomic nervous system plays a major role in compensating for disturbances of cardiovascular system due to it.

Obiective : The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of acupuncture treatment for chronic headache patients using power spectrum analysis of the heart rate variability(HRV). Methods : 15 clinical experiment participants were gathered and through a questionnaire patients who experienced headache for more than 4 hours a day and more than IS days per month were qualified as Chronic Headache patients. Treatment was afplied 2 times a weeks for 8 weeks. The acupoints, GV2O, HN23, ST8, HN46, TEl7, GB2O, LI2O, LI11, LI14, ST36, and LR3 were stimulated for 20 minutes. The effects of acupuncture treatment were analyzed using power spectrum analysis of the HRV. HRV was recorded before and after acupuncture treatment. Results : HRV before and after treatment was compared after 8 weeks of acupuncture treatment. Increase in mean values of SDNN and RMSSD were observed but the increases were not statistically significant. Increase in mean values of TP, LF and HF were observed but, the increase was significant(p<0.05) only in TP. Conclusions : The results suggest that acupuncture treatment on chronic headache patients can increase the activity of autonomic nervous system. Further use of HRV for quantitative analysis of acupuncture treatment on autonomic nervous system related symptoms is suggested.
