Single shortest path routing is known to perform poorly for Internet traffic engineering (TE) where the typical optimization objective is to minimize the maximum link load. Splitting traffic uniformly over equal cost multiple shortest paths in OSPF and IS-IS does not always minimize the maximum link load when multiple paths are not carefully selected for the global traffic demand matrix. However, among all the equal cost multiple shortest paths in the network, a set of TE-aware shortest paths, which reduces the maximum link load significantly, can be found and used by IP routers without any change of existing routing protocols and serious configuration overhead. While calculating TE-aware shortest paths. the destination-based forwarding constraint at a node should be satisfied, because an IP router will forward a packet to the next-hop toward the destination by looking up the destination prefix. In this paper, we present a problem formulation of finding a set of TE-aware shortest paths in ILP, and propose a simple heuristic for the problem. From the simulation results, it is shown that TE-aware shortest path routing performs better than default shortest path routing and ECMP in terms of the maximum link load with the marginal configuration overhead of changing the next-hops.
Several gateway selection schemes have been proposed that select gateway nodes based on a single Quality of Service (QoS) path parameter, for instance path availability period, link capacity or end-to-end delay, etc. or on multiple non-QoS parameters, for instance the combination of gateway node speed, residual energy, and number of hops, for Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs). Each scheme just focuses on the ment of improve only a single network performance, i.e., network throughput, packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay, or packet drop ratio. However, none of these schemes improves the overall network performance because they focus on a single QoS path parameter or on set of non-QoS parameters. To improve the overall network performance, it is necessary to select a gateway with stable path, a path with themaximum residual load capacity and the minimum latency. In this paper, we propose a gateway selection scheme that considers multiple QoS path parameters such as path availability period, available capacity and latency, to select a potential gateway node. We improve the path availability computation accuracy, we introduce a feedback system to updated path dynamics to the traffic source node and we propose an efficient method to propagate QoS parameters in our scheme. Computer simulations show that our gateway selection scheme improves throughput and packet delivery ratio with less per node energy consumption. It also improves the end-to-end delay compared to single QoS path parameter gateway selection schemes. In addition, we simulate the proposed scheme by considering weighting factors to gateway selection parameters and results show that the weighting factors improve the throughput and end-to-end delay compared to the conventional schemes.
In wireless sensor networks, a node that reports information gathered from adjacent assets should relay packets appropriately so that its location context is kept private, and thereby helping ensure the security of the assets that are being monitored. Unfortunately, existing routing methods that counter the local eavesdropping-based tracing deal with a single asset, and most of them suffer from the packet-delivery latency as they prefer to take a separate path of many hops for each packet being sent. In this paper, we propose a routing method, greedy perimeter stateless routing-based source-location privacy with crew size w (GSLP-w), that enhances location privacy of the packet-originating node (i.e., active source) in the presence of multiple assets. GSLP-w is a hybrid method, in which the next-hop node is chosen in one of four modes, namely greedy, random, perimeter, and retreat modes. Random forwarding brings the path diversity, while greedy forwarding refrains from taking an excessively long path and leads to convergence to the destination. Perimeter routing makes detours that avoid the nodes near assets so that they cannot be located by an adversary tracing up the route path. We study the performance of GSLP-w with respect to crew size w (the number of packets being sent per path) and the number of sources. GSLP-w is compared with phantom routing-single path (PR-SP), which is a notable routing method for source-location privacy and our simulation results show that improvements from the point of the ratio of safety period and delivery latency become significant as the number of source nodes increases.
In this paper, a tradeoff between the total energy consumption-per-bit and the end-to-end rate under spatial reuse in wireless multi-hop network is developed and analyzed. The end-to-end rate of the network is the number of information bits transmitted (end-to-end) per channel use by any node in the network that is forwarding the data. In order to increase the bandwidth efficiency, spatial reuse is considered whereby simultaneous relay transmissions are allowed provided there is a minimum separation between such transmitters. The total energy consumption-per-bit includes the energy transmitted and the energy consumed by the receiver to process (demodulate and decoder) the received signal. The total energy consumption-per-bit is normalized by the distance between a source-destination pair in order to be consistent with a direct (single-hop) communication network. Lower bounds on this energy-bandwidth tradeoff are analyzed using convex optimization methods. For a given location of relays, it is shown that the total energy consumption-per-bit is minimized by optimally selecting the end-to-end rate. It is also demonstrated that spatial reuse can improve the bandwidth efficiency for a given total energy consumption-per-bit. However, at the rate that minimizes the total energy consumption-per-bit, spatial reuse does not provide lower energy consumption-per-bit compared to the case without spatial reuse. This is because spatial reuse requires more receiver energy consumption at a given end-to-end rate. Such degraded energy efficiency can be compensated by varying the minimum separation of hops between simultaneous transmitters. In the case of equi-spaced relays, analytical results for the energy-bandwidth tradeoff are provided and it is shown that the minimum energy consumption-per-bit decreases linearly with the end-to-end distance.

The Wireless Mesh Network technology is able to provide an infrastructure for isolated islands, in which it is difficult to install cables or wide area such as battlefield of armed forces. Therefore, Wireless Mesh Network is frequently used to satisfy needs for internet connection and active studies and research on them are in progress However, as a result of increase in number of hops under hop-by-hop communication environment has caused a significant decrease in throughput and an increase in delay. Considering the heavy traffic of real-time data, such as voice or moving pictures to adaptive WMN, in a military environment, it is restricted for remote units to have their Mesh Node to get real-time services. Such phenomenon might cause an issue in fairness. In order to resolve this issue, the Location-based Packet Scheduling Scheme, which can provide an fair QoS to each mesh node that is connected to each echelon's AP and operates based on WRR method that gives a priority to emergency message and control packet. The performance of this scheme is validated.

This paper describes a design of an adaptive baseband modem based on TDMA(time division multiple access) with a relay protocol function for wireless personal area networks. The designed baseband modem is controlled by a master synchronization signal and can be configured a relay network up to 14 hops. For efficient data relay communications, the internal buffer design is optimized by implementing a priority memory bus controller to a single port memory. And the priority memory bus controller is also designed to minimize the number of synthesized logic gates. To implement the synchronization function of the narrowband TDMA relay communication, the number of gates has been reduced by dividing the frame synchronization circuits and the network slot synchronization circuits. By using these methods, the number of gates are used about 37%(34,000 gates) on Xilinx FPGA XC6SLX9 which has 90,000 gates. For the 1024-bit frame size with a 32-bit synchronization word, the communication reception rate is 96.4%. The measured maximum transmission delay of the designed baseband modem is 230.4 msec for the 14-hop relay communication.

Alternative radio-navigation technologies aim at providing continuous navigation solution even if one cannot use GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System). In shadowing region such as indoor environment, GNSS signal is no longer available and the alternative navigation system should be used together with GNSS to provide seamless positioning. For soldiers in battlefield where GNSS signal is jammed or in street battle, the alternative navigation system should work without positioning infrastructure. Moreover, the radio-navigation system should have scalability as well as high accuracy performance. This paper presents a TWR (Two-Way-Ranging)-based cooperative positioning system (CPS) that does not require location infrastructure. It is assumed that some members of CPS can obtain GNSS-based position and they are called mobile anchors. Other members unable to receive GNSS signal compute their position using TWR measurements with mobile anchors and neighboring members. Error propagation in CPS is analytically studied in this paper. Error budget for TWR measurements is modeled first. Next, location error propagation in CPS is derived in terms of range errors. To represent the location error propagation in the CPS, Location Error Propagation Indicator (LEPI) is proposed in this paper. Simulation results show that location error of tags in CPS is mainly influenced by the number of hops from anchors to the tag to be positioned as well as the network geometry of CPS.

In this Paper, we propose a multi-hop transmission in cognitive underlay network. In Secondary network, We assume that a secondary source S attempts to transmit D its signal to a secondary destination via N+1 hops with help of N relays $R_1$, $R_2$, ${\ldots}$, $R_N$. At hop k between relay $R_k$ and relay $R_{k+1}$. we assume that there is a primary user $PU_k$. In this paper, we assume that these channels are Rayleigh fading channels. In underlay network, the secondary transmitter has to adapt its power so that the interference caused at the primary user is less than a maximum interference threshold. considering the hop transmission between the transmitter and the repeater, we find transmit power and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR). Between the transmitter from the receiver depending on the number of relay in the underlay network, we compared to find the transmit power and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR). Finally we find optimal number of relay and optimal threshold value.

A Fat-Tree topology has multiple paths between any pair of hosts. The delay for the multiple paths with an equal number of hops depends mainly on the queuing delay. However, most of the existing load-balancing schemes do not sufficiently exploit the characteristics of Fat-Tree. In most schemes load-balancing is performed at a flow level. Packet-level load-balancing schemes usually require the availability of special transport layer protocols to address packet reordering. In this paper, we propose a new packet-level load-balancing scheme which can enhance network utilization while minimizing packet reordering in Fat-Trees. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme provides as high TCP throughput as a randomized flow-level Valiant load balancing scheme for a best case.
Indium oxide nanocrystals ($In_2O_3$ NCs) with sizes of 5.5 nm-10 nm were synthesized by hot injection of the mixture precursors, indium acetate and oleic acid, into alcohol solution (1-octadecanol and 1-octadecence mixture). Field emission transmission electron microscopy (FE-TEM), High resolution X-Ray diffraction (X-ray), Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) were employed to investigate the size, surface molecular structure, and crystallinity of the synthesized $In_2O_3$ NCs. When covered by oleic acid as a capping group, the $In_2O_3$ NCs had a high crystallinity with a cubic structure, demonstrating a narrow size distribution. A high mobility of $2.51cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ and an on/off current ratio of about $1.0{\times}10^3$ were observed with an $In_2O_3$ NCs thin film transistor (TFT) device, where the channel layer of $In_2O_3$ NCs thin films were formed by a solution process of spin coating, cured at a relatively low temperature, $350^{\circ}C$. A size-dependent, non-monotonic trend on electron mobility was distinctly observed: the electron mobility increased from $0.43cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ for NCs with a 5.5 nm diameter to $2.51cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ for NCs with a diameter of 7.1 nm, and then decreased for NCs larger than 7.1 nm. This phenomenon is clearly explained by the combination of a smaller number of hops, a decrease in charging energy, and a decrease in electronic coupling with the increasing NC size, where the crossover diameter is estimated to be 7.1 nm. The decrease in electronic coupling proved to be the decisive factor giving rise to the decrease in the mobility associated with increasing size in the larger NCs above the crossover diameter.
