무선 DVI 동글장치를 위한 스파이럴 구조를 갖는 폴디드 모노폴 안테나에 관한 연구 (A Study on Folded Monopole Antenna with Spiral Shape for Wireless DVI Dongle Applications)

  • In this paper, we proposes a internal antenna for wireless DVI dongle device using the folded monopole structure. The proposed antenna uses a basic structure of spiral and monopole. The antenna optimized for parameters length, gap, width, and rectangle of folded monopole antenna using the spiral structure. To confirm the characteristics of the antenna parameters, HFSS from ANSYS Inc. was used for the analysis. We used an FR4 dielectric substrate with a dielectric constant of 4.4. The DVI dongle size of the proposed antenna is $50{\times}40{\times}1.6mm$, and the size of the antenna area is $10{\times}40mm$. There is a value of return loss less then -10dB in 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz, band and the maximum antenna gain is -4.13dBi. The utilization possibility of the wireless DVI Dongle antenna have a folded monopole with spiral shape could be confirmed according to compare and analyze the simulation and measurement data.

  • In this paper, we proposed an internal multiband loop embedded monopole antenna for mobile handset that could be used for smart phones. The proposed antenna has a volume of 40 mm(W) ${\times}$ 15 mm(L) ${\times}$ 5 mm(H), ground plane size is 40 mm(W) ${\times}$ 80 mm(L), and covers the GSM900 (Global System for Mobile communications : 880-960 MHz), K-PCS (Korea-Personal Communications Service : 1750-1870 MHz), US-PCS (US Personal Communications Service : 1850-1990 MHz), WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access : 1920-2170 MHz), Wibro (2300-2390 MHz), Bluetooth (2400-2483 MHz) and WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network : 2400-2483.5 MHz) bands for VSWR (voltage standing wave ration) less than 3. The proposed loop adding design at middle section of longest branch showed wide impedance bandwidth for the lowest resonance frequency band. The proposed antenna have a lowest resonance frequency band from 738 MHz to 1075 MHz for S11 value of -6dB. A HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator) of the Ansys Corporation based on a finite element method is employed to analyze the proposed antenna in the design process and to compare the simulation and experimental results.

  • A narrow slot in the broad wall of a rectangular waveguide is analysed using a Spatial Network Method[1] which takes account of the waveguide wall thickness. In essence, SNM is used to solve arbitrary shape and materials constant, derived from maxwell's equations to find the tangential electric fields on the upper and lower surfaces of the slot. In this paper, applying to the offset and length[2] which yield a zero equivalent shunt susceptance, analysing single and 4 array slot antenna. The current of the transient analysis shows each the times. Analysed result of SNM is verified by the method of moment and HFSS.

무배전기식 불꽃 점화 시스템의 점화 플러그 케이블에서 발생되는 전자파의 분석 (Analysis of Electromagnetic Wave for Spark Plug Cable in Distributorless Spark Ignition System)

  • 무배전기식 불꽃 점화 시스템의 스파크 플러그 케이블에서 발생되는 전자파에 대한 분석이다. 무배전기식 불꽃 점화 시스템인 경우에는 점화코일이 고주파 발생원이고 스파크 플러그 케이블과 스파크 플러그는 전자파를 복사하는 안테나로 동작 할 수 있다. 스파크플러그 케이블과 스파크 플러그의 길이를 측정하여 ${\lambda}/4$ 수직 접지 안테나로 동작하는 안테나로 고려하여 HFSS를 이용하여 공진주파수를 계산하였다. 계산된 공진주파수와 엔진룸에서 복사되는 전자파의 전력 스펙트럼 분포를 측정한 결과를 분석하여 무배전기식 불꽂 점화 시스템이 특정한 주파수 대역에서 고주파 에너지를 복사한다는 것을 알 수 있다.

A High Performance Solenoid-Type MEMS Inductor

  • A solenoid-type MEMS inductor with a quality factor over 10 at 2 GHz has been developed using an electroplating technique. The integrated spiral inductor has a low Q factor due to substrate loss and skin effects. It also occupies a large area compared to the solenoid-type inductor. The direction of flux of the solenoid-type inductor is parallel to the substrate, which can lower the substrate loss and other interference with integrated passive components. To estimate the characteristics of the proposed inductor over a high frequency range, the 3D FEM (Finite Element Method) simulation is used by using the HFSS at the Ansoft corporation. The electroplated solenoid-type inductor is fabricated on a glass substrate step by step by using photolithography and copper electroplating. The fabrication process to improve the quality factor of the inductor is also developed. The achieved inductance varies within a range from 0.5 nH to 2.8 nH, and the maximum Q factor is over 10.

  • 본 논문은 실험적 고찰을 통해 고주파 전송선 회로의 시그널 인테그러티를 정확하게 검증하는 방법을 제시하였다. 패키지 공정을 이용하여 제조한 배선의 공정편차, 표면 거칠기 효과, 표피 효과, 시뮬레이션을 위한 경계조건 등은 시뮬레이션의 정확도에 상당한 영향을 끼친다. 이러한 영향을 장해석기(HFSS)에 적용할 수 있는 변수로 변환하여 보다 정확하게 시그널 인테그러티를 검증 할 수 있도록 한다. 단일 신호선과 두 개의 전자기적으로 결합된 신호선에서의 신호 천이 특성을 측정 데이터와 제안하는 방법의 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교를 통해 제안한 방법의 정확성을 검증하였다.

  • This paper deals with analysis of complex grounding system using electromagnetic simulation method. Electrical devices could be damaged by transient voltage such as a lightning surge. Therefore the measures to protect the equipments from transient, such as a lightning are required. The ground system is important in this respect. The representative parameter of grounding system performance is earth ground resistance. Precise prediction of earth resistance is required, because it is difficult to modify and change after the completion of the grounding system construction. Numerical modeling is often used in numerical analysis to identify the electrical characteristics of the grounding system. However complex systems are difficult to predict grounding characteristics by numerical analysis. If the total electric field of the earth in general is similar to the antenna model, in that the incident electric field and expressed as a sum of the scattering field. In this study, the electromagnetic field simulation tool "ANSYS HFSS" module containing the antenna model was used to analyze performance of ground system. Both the simple and complex grounding system were analyzed by simulation tool and experimental method. As a result simulation method is effective to predict performance of a complex ground system.

마이크로파 가변 소자용 K-band Coplanar Stripline 공진기 설계 (K-band Coplanar Stripline Resonator for Microwave Tunable Devices)

  • In order to develop a tunable resonator which can be easily operated by DC bias and applied for microwave tunable filters and devices using ferroelectric thin or thick films, the non conductor backed-and conductor backed- coplanar stripline resonators have been designed and analyzed. They have been designed to be operated at 25 GHz which involve coplanar stripline input and output ports. The resonators have been simulated and analyzed using Ansoft HFSS. The research has been focused on the Quality factor of the coplanar stripline resonator. The conductor Q, box Q, and radiation Q of the resonators have been analyzed and calculated according to the substrate thickness & conductor width of the resonators. From these parameters, the loss factors of the coplanar stripline resonator have been investigated. The conducting Q of the coplanar stripline resonator has no relation with the thickness of dielectric substrate and increases as the conductor width increases. The box Q has no much relation with the thickness of substrate and the conductor width, which is above 2000. The radiation loss increases as the thickness of substrate and the conductor width increase. To decrease the radiation loss of the coplanar stripline resonator, a conductor backed coplanar stripline resonator has been proposed which has the unloaded Q of 170.

저전력, 고주파, 고효율 자성박막 변압기 설계 및 제작에 대한 연구 (Design and Fabrication of Low-Power, High-Frequency, High-Performance Magnetic Thin Film Transformer)

  • In this paper, the low power (1.5 W) solenoid-type magnetic thin-film transformers utilizing a $Ni_{81}Fe_{19)$ core material were designed and fabricated for 5 MHz-drive DC-DC converter application. The $20\mum$ thick copper films were used as the coils. The transformers fabricated in this work have the sizes of $3.08 mm\times25.5 mm\; and\; 6.15 mm\times12.75 mm.$ The optimum design of solenoid-type magnetic thin film transformers was performed utilizing the conventional equations, a Maxwell computer simulator (Ansoft HFSS V7.0 for PC), and parameters obtained from the magnetic properties of NiFe magnetic core materials. frequency characteristics of inductance, dc resistance (R), coupling factor (k) and gain of developed transformers were measured using HP4194A impedance and gain-phase analyzer. The fabricated transformers with the size of $6.15 mm\time12.75 mm$ exhibit the inductance of $0.83 \muH$, the dc resistance of $2.3\Omega$$\Omega$, the k of 0.91 and the gain of -1 dB at 5 MHz, which show the comparable results to those reported in the recent literatures. The measured high-frequency characteristics for the fabricated transformers agreed well with those obtained by theoretical calculations .

UWB 통신을 위한 테이퍼드 슬롯 안테나 설계 (Design of Tapered Slot Antenna for UWB Communications)

  • 본 논문에서는 UWB 통신 시스템의 테이퍼드 슬롯 안테나를 제안하였다. 테이퍼드 슬롯 안테나는 넓은 대역폭 특성과 진행파 안테나의 지향성 방사를 갖는다. 제안된 테이퍼드 슬롯 안테나는 Ansys사의 HFSS를 사용하여 설계하였으며, 반사손실 및 정재파비, 방사패턴 등을 분석하였다. 안테나의 동작 대역은 2.7 ~ 4.8 GHz 대역에서 -10 dB S11 및 $VSWR{\leq}2$(2.1 GHz)를 만족하였다. 안테나의 방사패턴은 E-평면(YZ plane)과 H-평면(XZ plane)에서 특정한 방향으로 신호를 전송하는 지향성 방사패턴을 보였으며, 이득은 4.5 GHz 대역에서 7.3 dBi의 높은 이득을 보였다. 따라서 제안된 테이퍼드 슬롯 안테나는 넓은 대역폭 특성과 위치인식에 적합한 지향성의 특성을 보인다.
