Medication adherence is a basic and important element in diabetes management, and it has been known the adherence rate should be keep over 80% to get positive result in diabetes management. In order to increase medication adherence, there have been smart phone apps that record medication, exercise, and diet. However, diabetes patients are generally over 50s, and most of them do not use smart phones. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a medication adherence help system that support both smart phone apps and feature phone SMS. Furthermore, we introduce system architecture for the system. Our work will help ICT-based diabetic management system developers to consider some issues for mobile based diabetic management systems..

In this paper, we study the relationship between the U.S. daily stock returns and the corresponding Korean returns. More specifically, we examine whether the previously realized U.S. stock returns would help predict the current Korean returns. We find that for dose-to-close daily stock returns, the U.S. returns would help predict the Korean returns. However, for open-to-close stock returns, the U.S. intraday stock returns would not help predict the corresponding Korean returns. After distinguishing investors by their nationality and types, we then examine whether there is a relationship between investors' net purchase of Korean stocks and the previous days' U.S. stock returns. We find that the amount of international investors' net purchase of Korean stocks today would vary significantly with the previous days' U.S. stock returns. The Korean individual investors and the Korean investment trust companies, however, would follow the opposite investment pattern.

현재 국내에서 가장 많이 쓰이는 분산 미들웨어 기술은 크게 세가지로 구분할 수 있다. OMG(Object Management Group)의 CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture), 마이크로 소프트사의 DOCM/COM+ 그리고 썬(SUN)사의 EJB(Enterprise Java Beans)이다. 이 분산 미들웨어 기술들은 분산환경에서 시스템들간의 운영체제나 프로그래밍 언어에 관계없이 객체 서비스를 제공하여 독립적이고 표준화된 환경을 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 한국통신 초고속사업 중 NMS HelpDesk System(고장관리시스템)의 구축사례를 소개한다. 개발된 시스템은 분산 미들웨어 기술을 이용하여 DCOM/COM 응용시스템, CORBA 서버, 데이터베이스 응용시스템, 그리고 최종 운영자용 웹 인터페이스 시스템 둥으로 구성된 대규모 분산시스템이다.

The purposes of this study were to investigate the factors of CRM activity and the difference in CRM activities of department stores and to analyze the effect of CRM activities on customer satisfaction and loyalty. Investigators interviewed the buyers of three department stores in Daejeon area and surveyed 468 people aged over 20 who did shopping those stores. The data were analyzed with factorial analysis, multiple regression analysis, path analysis, ANOVA, Scheffe Test, etc., using the SPSS 10.0. The results of this study were: 1) Six factors were identified: ＇benefit ＆ information＇, ＇service＇, ＇customer invitation＇, ＇customer contact＇, ＇special management＇, and ＇purchase-related help＇; 2) CRM activities of three department stores were different, and department store buyers and customers were different in perception on CRM activities; and 3) Customer satisfaction was affected by the CRM factors like ＇service＇, ＇customer invitation＇, ＇purchase-related help＇, ＇benefit ＆ information＇, and ＇customer contact＇ Customer loyalty were affected directly by customer satisfaction, ＇benefit ＆ information＇ and ＇service＇, and indirectly by ＇customer invitation＇, ＇purchase-related help＇, ＇customer contact＇ through customer satisfaction.

The purpose of Phase I clinical trial is to identify the maximum tolerated dose with specific toxicity rate. The standard TER design does not guarantee the pre-specified toxicity rate. It depends on the dose-toxicity curves. Therefore it is necessary to check the expected toxicity rate of various dose-toxicity curves before we conduct clinical trials. We developed TERAplusB library to help this situation, especially in cancer research. This package will help design the cancer clinical trial. We can compare the expected toxicity rates, the expected number of patients, and the expected times calculated with various dose-toxicity curves. This process will help find the best clinical trial design of the proposed drug.

In 2006, 41% of newly-married Korean men living in agriculture or fishery area were married to foreign wives. These foreign wives suffer social, cultural, and psychological maladjustment. They need support in understanding Korean culture & language, economic independence, and mental health. This horticultural therapy program (HT program) was practiced to help the foreign wives gain emotional stability, to help them adapt to rural society, and to help them improve the relationship with their families. The participants of this HT program were 10 foreign wives, 5 Chinese, 2 Vietnamese, 1 Japanese, 1 Thai, and 1 Filipina. Total sessions were 12, and each session lasted for two hours. This program started April and ended July in 2007. After this program, self-esteem of participants increased from 29.6 to 33.5, and stress decreased from 77.3 to 64.7. Participants also expressed sense of satisfaction and accomplishment after the program.

To figure out the impact of debt financing on the profits of industrial enterprises, it starts with calculating the first differences against the logarithms of the cost profit ratios and the debt asset ratios of Chinese industrial enterprises during 179 months from 2002 to 2016; next, it runs the cointegration test and afterwards the regression test to analyze the obtained first differences, and still next uses the Simulink software to get the regularity of those changes. It finds out that there is not only a long-term stable relationship between the enterprises' profits and debts, but also a steady time series trend within a short term. The profit rate positively correlates to the debt asset ratio, and profit for the current term positively correlates to the profit for the previous term. It indicates that properly raised debts can help increase the profit rate of the industrial enterprises, and a higher previous profit level can help improve the current profit level.

This paper presents a method for detection of an emergency signal expressed by arm gestures based on motion segmentation and face area detection in the surveillance system. The important indicators of emergency can be arm gestures and voice. We define an emergency signal as the 'Help Me' arm gestures in a rectangle around the face. The 'Help Me' arm gestures are detected by tracking changes in the direction of the horizontal motion vectors of left and right arms. The experimental results show that the proposed method successfully detects 'Help Me' emergency signal for a single person and distinguishes it from other similar arm gestures such as hand waving for 'Bye' and stretching. The proposed method can be used effectively in situations where people can't speak, and there is a language or voice disability.

With the development of science and technology, virtual reality (VR) has become increasingly popular, being widely used in various fields such as aviation, education, medical science, culture, art, and entertainment. This technology with great potential has changed the way of human-computer interaction and the way people live and entertain. In the field of animation, virtual reality also brings a new viewing form and immersive experience. The paper demonstrates the production of VR animation and then discusses camera's position in VR animation. Where to place the VR camera to bring a comfortable viewing experience. The paper, with the proxemics as its theoretical framework, proposes the hypothesis about the camera position. Then the hypothesis is verified by a series of experiments in animation to discuss the correlation between camera position and proxemics theory.

This research shows how the perception of digital shadow work varies depending on the user's period of use of digital services in applications, which are key areas of digital services. The purpose of this research is to investigate how the digital shadow work type changes over time. This research adopted a qualitative research method for location-based service "help application" users and examined the change in perception from the app service acceptance stage to the app service continuous use stage with two-times interviews of ten users by a longitudinal research design. This study conducted a longitudinal analysis focusing on how digital shadow work occurs in the application subscription process, exploring phenomenologically how the type changes throughout the process over time.
