인명.재해 피해 저감을 위한 폭염특보기준 검토 및 보완에 관한 연구 (Study on the examination and revision about the standard level of the Extreme heat watch warning system for reduction of personal or property injury)

  • The extreme heat watch warning system(EHWWS) that Korea Meterological Administration carried out a preliminary from July 1, 2007, considered both daily maximum temperature and daily maximum heat index simultaneously. It was requested revision of the standard level of EHWWS to solve the difficulty of forecasting occurred when we were considering two parameters simultaneously and we did not considering heat index according to areas. For this, we established three type standard, such as type 1 that considered both daily maximum temperature and daily maximum heat index, Under the extreme heat day that daily minimum temperature was more than $25^{\circ}C$, type 2 that considered daily maximum temperature and type 3 that considered only daily maximum heat index and then analyzed whether these 3 types satisfies the excess mortality of the extreme heat warning or not. As a results, type 1 and 2 were more explain away excess mortality each warning step than type 3. type 2 could also apply case of not to consider heat index according to areas and had a merit for extreme heat forecasting easily because the standard was simple. Therefore we think type 2 is more suitable and reasonable standard for Korea extreme heat watch warning system(KEHWWS) than type 1. In addition, we need to develop model that exactly predicts the excess mortality will be take place during the extreme heat warning and construct KEHWWS.

Evaporation Heat Transfer Characteristics of $CO_2$ in a Horizontal Tube

  • The evaporation heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ (R-744) in a horizontal tube was investigated experimentally. The experiments were conducted without oil in a closed refrigerant loop which was driven by a magnetic gear pump. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver. a variable-speed pump. a mass flow meter. a pre-heater and evaporator (test section). The test section consists of a smooth. horizontal stainless steel tube of 7.75 mm inner diameter. The experiments were conducted at mass flux of 200 to $500\;kg/m^{2}s$. saturation temperature of $-5^{\circ}C\;to\;5^{\circ}C$. and heat flux of 10 to $40\;kW/m^2$. The test results showed the evaporation heat transfer of $CO_2$ has greatly effect on more nucleate boiling than convective boiling. The evaporation heat transfer coefficients of $CO_2$ are highly dependent on the vapor quality. heat flux and saturation temperature. The evaporation heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ is very larger than that of R-22 and R-134a. In making a comparison between test results and existing correlations. the present experimental data are the best fit for the correlation of Jung et al. But it was failed to predict the evaporation heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ using by the existing correlation. Therefore. it is necessary to develop reliable and accurate predictions determining the evaporation heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ in a horizontal tube.

The test section consists of a smooth, horizontal stainless steel tube of inner diameter of 4.57 mm. The experiments were conducted at mass flux of 200 to $500\;kg/m^2s$, saturation temperature of -5 to $5^{\circ}C$, and heat flux of 10 to $40\;kW/m^2$. The test results showed the heat transfer of $CO_2$ has a greater effect on nucleate boiling more than convective boiling. Mass flux of $CO_2$ does not effect nucleate boiling too much. In comparison with test results and existing correlations, the best fit of the present experimental data is obtained with the correlation of Jung et al. But existing correlations failed to predict the evaporation heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$, therefore, it is necessary to develope reliable and accurate predictions determining the evaporation heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ in a horizontal tube.

하천수 열원 2단 압축 열펌프시스템의 부분부하 운전특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Part-Load Performance of a River Water Source 2-Stage Heat Pump)

  • The river water heat source heat pump has the advantage in the performance compared to air source heat pump. Although its better performance, the large temperature difference between load and source makes system performance worse by nature. In this study, 2-stage compression is considered as the solution of this problem. Generally, heat pump is designed for maximum capacity rate, but it actually operates at part load condition in many cases. Therefore, an information on the part-load character is very important in view of the system overall performance. In this study, part-load performance tests of a R134a 2-stage compression heat pump were carried out over the river water and supply heating water temperature changes. The experimental results show that the system performance is influenced by the part load rates, river water temperature, load temperature, etc.

  • A cylindrical constant volume combustion bomb is used to investigate the combustion characteristics and to analyzer the heat quantity of inhomogeneous charge methane-air mixture. To analyze the heat quantity, some definitions including the CHR ratio, the UHC ratio and the HL ratio are needed and are calculated. It is shown that the effect of stratification is not significant in case of the overall excess air ratio of 1.1, mainly due to the higher heat loss and lower thermal efficiency compared to those of homogeneous condition. In the case of the overall excess air ratio of 1.4, as the initial charge pressure decreases, the CHR ratio has been decreased while the HL ratio has been increased, Generally, as the initial charge pressure increases, the amount of injection mixture has been decreased and has resulted in lower mean velocity and turbulence intensity for injection mixture. Also, the injected mixture is too rich to result in mixing deficiency in combustion chamber. From these results, it could be possible to acquire the improvement of thermal efficiency and the reduction of heat loss simultaneously through the 2-stage injection in CNG direct injection engine.

수평 다채널 관에서의 유동 비등 열전달 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on Characteristics of Flow Boiling Heat Transfer in Multi channels)

  • Two-phase flow boiling heat transfer in micro-channels was experimently investigated. The test section consisted of 15 rectangular micro-channels with a depth of 0.45mm, width of 0.20mm. The experiments were performed for heat fluxes ranging from 5.6 to 46.1kW/m2 and mass fluxes from 150 to 450kg/m2s using FC-72 as the working fluid. According to the results, at the low heat flux region, heat transfer coefficient strongly depends on the heat flux, while heat transfer coefficient at the high heat flux region was independent on the heat flux. Four correlations were used to predict the heat transfer coefficient. The measured heat transfer coefficient was compared with four correlations. It was found that Kaew-On and Wongwises's correlation well predicted the measured data, within the MAE of 40.3%.

  • The plate heat exchanger is characterized. by low pressure drop and high heat transfer coefficient. The experimental study has been performed on the condensation heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of the plate heat exchangers in this study. In the present study, a brazed type plate heat exchanger was investigated at a chevron angle of $45^{\circ},\;55^{\circ},\;and\;70^{\circ}$ with R410A. Condensation temperatures were varied from $20^{\circ}C\;and\;30^{\circ}C$, and mass flux was ranged from $13{\sim}34\;kg/m^{2}s$ with constant heat flux ($=5\;kw/m^{2}$). The heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop increased with the chevron angle. Average condensation heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops are decreased with increasing condensation tempeature.

승용 전조등 LED 램프의 방열판 자연 냉각특성 (Natural Cooling Characteristics of a Heat Sink for LED Headlight used in Passenger Cars)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the cooling characteristics of a heat sink for an LED headlight used in passenger cars. To this end, this study conducts the experimental and numerical analysis of the heat sink heated at constant heat fluxes without air flow applied. In the experiments, heat was transferred at a constant heat flux through the bottom of a heat sink. The measured temperature on pre-selected locations of the heat sink was in good agreement with the numerically predicted one. The experimental and numerical results indicate that the convective heat transfer coefficient for the natural convection mode was decreased by increasing the heat flux applied to the bottom of heat sink, lowering the cooling capabilities.

지열 히트펌프 시스템의 계절별 지중 열교환 특성 및 지반내 온도 변화 (Temperature monitoring and seasonal borehole heat exchange rate characteristics of a geothermal heat pump system)

  • The geothermal heat pump system is designed for cooling and heating for three stories building (2,435 $m^2$) includes total 79 heat pumps. Therefore, the monitoring system is installed for each floor and the data is automatically transmitted to the monitoring system. Heat exchange rate and temperature of a geothermal heat pump system have been monitored for a long period. The seasonal operation of geothermal heat pump shows the different shape of heat exchange rate for cooling and heating. Ground water flow can influence on heat exchange rate and thermal storage of the system. In order to define the hydraulic characteristics and groundwater temperature variation, the relationships among air temperatures, groundwater temperatures, water table, and precipitation are analysed.
