Shiatsu and aromatherapy followed with 34.4% and Homeopath had the lowest rate of 2.80%. When CHPs were asked if they had received any training in complementary therapy, 33.1% indicated that they had studied soojichim and 13.2%stated that they had learned oriental medicine. Aromatherapy, massage, and shiatsu followed with 11.2%, 8.4%, and 5.6% respectively On the other hand, none of the CHPs had received training in homeopath. In terms of using complementary therapy during the past 5 years, 23.9% had been treated with oriental medicine, and 18.896 had received soojichim. 5.9% had received aromatherapy, 5.3% had used massage, and 5.1% had experience with shiatsu. None of the practitioners had used homeopath during the past 5 years. Significantly many number of practitioners indicated that they had excellent treatment results with all hinds of complementary therapy, and there were rare cares of side effects. When they were asked if they wanted complementary therapy to become part of the curriculum during re-training or training for public service personnels, 78100 wanted soojichim, 69.2% wanted oriental medicine, and 67.9% wanted aroma therapy. 63.9% wanted shiatsu to be included, and 63.1% wanted massage. When CHPs were asked if they wanted to use complementary therapy during primary health care, 63.6% wanted to use soojichim, 52.9% wanted massage, and 51.9% wanted to use aroma therapy. Oriental medicine also showed a high rate of 50.1%. On the other hand, only a small percentage wanted to use chiropractic or homeopath with 17.0% and 12,2% respectively. Among the CHPs, there were some who had administered complementary therapy during the past 5 years. 84% had administered soojichim, 4.6% had administered oriental medicine, and 2.5% had administered massage 2.5% of the CHPs answered that they had administered aromatherapy. However, none of them had administered apitherapy or homeopath. Most of patients showed positive responses, and the rate of side effect was very low. As shown in the above results, although CHPs have a high rate of interest, reliance, and experience in recommending complementary therapy, only a low percentage of them had received any training in complementary therapy. In addition, since there were little side effects when they received or administered complementary therapy, they hoped complementary therapy, which can be beneficial to health, to be introduced to the curriculum. Therefore, in order to provide community members with complementary therapy and the correct information regarding the selection of complementary therapy that could be beneficial to health, a policy of continuous interest and support is needed so that CHPs can he provided with a systemic and rational curriculum of complementary therapy.

  • China and Japan are geographically close and the two countries had shared the Chinese Character Culture and the thoughts of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism since the ancient age. They also actively exchanged culture in various areas. Some cultural exchanges had been caused by surrounding environment and culture had been introduced to other country in a natural way; while some cultural exchanges had been forcibly introduced through artificial process. It is believed that such cultural phenomenon must have had impact on the make-up cultures of the two countries and it was assumed that there must have been commons and differences in the make-up cultures of the two countries. This study explored the historical background of the Ching dynasty of China and the Edo Age in Japan, which are in the same time frame, and studied the aesthetic consciousness of the two countries at the time. Then the make-up style of ladies in the two countries had been studied to find out how their aesthetic consciousnesses had been expressed in the make-ups of the two countries. Then the commons and differences in make-up skills between the two countries had been identified. According to the study results, the main stream of aesthetics during the Ching dynasty in China can be classified into Confucianism aesthetics and Taoism aesthetics. On the other hand, the main stream of aesthetics during the Edo Age in Japan can be classified into "mitate(見立)", "ikki(いき)" and "garumi(かるみ). The skin care in the make-up culture of Ching dynasty in China was based on "rouge (?脂, yanzhi)" and "powder(粉, fen)". The Ching ladies loved the make-up style using rouge. It had been same both in the high society and common people. The eyebrow care was delicate and curved so that the feminine beauty with elegant spirit could be emphasized. The skin care in the make-up culture of Edo Age in Japan focused on even applying of white powder so that the face would look soft. The eyebrow make-up was a very important part of the make-up. The shapes of eyebrow had been advanced in various styles and there had been eyebrow make-up styles such as "crescent-shaped brow (三日月), "crane style brow (鶴眉) and "Tang style brow (唐眉). The lips had been applied of thick red color, imitating the make-up skill of the ladies in the entertainment business. The lips make-up skill expressing the lips in two colors had been quite popular. Among the make-up skills during the Edo Age in Japan, the "black teeth (齒黑)" can be said as the most unique make-up style of Edo Age.

  • First, We classified man-made lakes in Korea as 4-type lakes, that is, there were River-run lakes, Dendritic lakes, Reservoir-lakes, River-mouth lakes, We studied on the environmental factors of 3-type lakes except River-mouth lakes, compared these lakes with natural lakes in foreign country. Environmental factors were watershed area, lake storage, mean depth, hydraulic retention time. As a results, 3-type lakes in Korea had remarkable differences one another according to above-mentioned environmental factors. First, We recognized that River-run lakes had higher nutrient loading according to having wider watershed area than natural lakes, and had lower algal growth rate according to shorter hydraulic retention time than natural lakes. Dendritic lake had higher nutrient loading than natural lakes, longer retention time than River-run lake. Reservoir-lakes had environmental factors between Dentritic lakes and River-run lakes. Therefore, If this studies had no quantitative results about various factors, We recognized that man-made lakes in korea had different environmental factors as compared with natural lakes, and had clear classification among 3-type lakes.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the demensioal stability and wettability of several rubber impression materials. Impressions were made from a metal master die machined to stimulate five full veneer crown preparations symmetrically placed in an arch form. Cast from impressions were measured about ; 1) intrapreparation distance 2) lower base diameter 3) length. For comparing materials were formed against a smooth surface. The advancing contact angle of a saturated aqueous solution of $CaSO_4$ on the impression materials was measured after 1 minute. Mean contact angle were calculated and results were analyzed. Results were as follows : 1. As the intrapreparation distance, hydrophilic addition-cured silicone had the smallest change and condensation-cured silicone had the largest one. 2. As the lower base diameter, traditional addition-cured silicone had the smallest change and polyether had the largest one. 3. As the height, traditional addition-cured silicone had the smallest change and polyether had the largest one. 4. As the contact angle, polyether had the smallest change and condensation-cured silicone had the largest one.
