정수장에서 소독부산물의 생성특성 (Formation Characteristics of DBPs by Chlorination in Water Treatment Plant)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the formation of DBPs(Disinfection By-products) such as trihalomethane(THMs) and haloacetic acid(HAAs) by chlorination in raw water and finished water of Water Treatment Plant(WTP). The formation of THMs was increased with the increase of pH and reaction time. HAAs was found as a high formation at a pH 7 and low formation at pH 9. THMFP(Trihalomethane Formation Potential) was the highest formation potential in raw water of Pu-1 and the lowest in raw water of Pa-1. In case of HAAFP(Haloacetic acid formation potential), So-1 showed the highest value, while Pa-1 showed the lowest value. It was investigated the relationship between HAAs and organic matters which were described as DOC(dissolved organic carbon) and $UV_{254}$. In both DOC and $UV_{254}$ versus HAAFP, Pu-1 showed the good correlation coefficients($r^2$) with 0.95 and 0.84, respectively. For three WTP investigated, DBPs(THMs + HAAs) was shown over the range of $42.00{\sim}49.36{\mu}g/L$. This result might be due to the different characteristic of organic matters in raw water and the difference of chlorine dosage for a water treatment.

단결정 반금속 비스무스 단일 나노선의 Shubnikov-de Haas 진동 (Shubnikov-de Haas Oscillations in an Individual Single-Crystalline Semimetal Bismuth Nanowire)

  • The magneto-transport properties of an individual single crystalline Bi nanowire grown by a spontaneous growth method are reported. A four-terminal device based on an individual 400-nm-diameter nanowire was successfully fabricated using a plasma etching technique that removed an oxide layer that had formed on the surface of the nanowire. Large transverse ordinary magnetoresistance (1401%) and negative longitudinal ordinary magnetoresistance (-38%) were measured at 2 K. It was observed that the period of Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations in transverse geometry was $0.074^{T-1}$, $0.16^{T-1}$ and $0.77^{T-1}$, which is in good agreement with those of bulk Bi. However, it was found that the period of SdH oscillation in longitudinal geometry is $0.24^{T-1}$, which is larger than the value of $0.16^{T-1}$ reported for bulk Bi. The deviation is attributable to the spatial confinement arising from scattering at the nanowire surface boundary.

남조류의 염소처리에 따른 미량의 염소 소독부산물 생성에 관한 연구 (Formation of Disinfection By-Products from Blue-green Algae by Chlorination)

  • Formation of disinfection by-products (DBPs) including trihalomethans (THMs), haloacetic acid (HAAs), haloacetonitriles (HANs) and others from chlorination of algogenic organic matter (AOM) of Microcystis sp., a blue-green algae. AOM of Microcystis sp. exhibited a high potential for DBPs formation. HAAs formation potential was higher than THMs and HANs formation potential. The percentages of dichloroacetic acid (DCAA) and trichloroacetic acid (TCAA) formation potential were 43.4% and 51.4% in the total HAAs formation potential. In the case of HANs formation potential, percentage of dichloroacetonitrile (DCAN) formation potential was 97.7%. Other DBPs were aldehydes and nitriles such as acetaldehyde, methylene chloride, isobutyronitrile, cyclobutanecarbonitrile, pentanenitrile, benzaldehyde, propanal, 2-methyl, benzyl chloride, (2-chloroethyl)-benzene, benzyl nitrile, 2-probenenitrile and hexanal.

음용 원수의 염소소독에 의한 소독부산물 생성패턴에 관한 연구 II (A Study on Formation Pattern of DBPs by Disinfection of Drinking Raw Water II)

  • 한강과 낙동강에서 채취한 원수에 염소소독제인 hypochlorite를 $10{\mu}g/mL$의 농도로 투여한 후 1시간 ~ 14일까지 TOC (total organic carbon), 잔류염소량 및 14종의 염소소독부산물 생성율을 조사하였다. 그 결과 TOC 및 탁도는 큰 차이가 없었으며 잔류염소량은 한강에서 투여 후 1시간 경과 시 $6{\mu}g/mL$ 이상에서 14일째에 $1.23{\mu}g/mL$으로 감소한 반면 낙동강의 경우 3일 이후 거의 존재하지 않았다. 7일 후 발생한 총 소독부산물의 농도는 한강의 경우 101.3 ng/mL (789.6 nM)이며 이 중 THMs (trihalomethanes)가 68%로 가장 큰 비중을 차지하였다. 그 외에 HAAs (haloacetic acids, 19%), chloral hydrate(10%)가 검출되었으며, 낙동강의 경우 총 소독부산물의 농도가 98.4 ng/mL (678.6 nM)이며 이 중 HAAs가 57%로 가장 큰 비중을 차지하였다. 그 외에 THMs (34%), HANs (haloacetonitriles, 5%) 및 chloropicrin등 질소화합물의 농도가 증가하였다. 이는 낙동강의 경우 한강에 비해 상대적으로 많이 포함된 암모니아성 질소가 소독제인 염소와 반응하여 클로라민을 생성함으로써 염소에 의한 소독효과와 클로라민에 의한 소독효과를 함께 나타내기 때문인 것으로 사료되며 전체적인 소독부산물들의 생성비율 경향을 살펴보면 소독제의 종류에 따라 소독부산물의 생성패턴에 차이가 있으나 산성도가 큰 HAAs의 초기 생성농도가 높고 점차 THMs의 생성속도가 증가하였다.

  • We observed period of SdH oscillation in an individual Bi nanowire with the transverse and longitudinal magnetic fields along the axis of the nanowire grown by OFF-ON. Our results provide good qualitative description of the cyclotron behavior of the single-crystalline Bi nanowire in the ballistic regime.

Influence of Food Ingredients on the Formation of Heterocyclic Aromatic Amine in Cooked Pork Patties

  • The effects of cooking method, cooking time and various food ingredients on the formation/ inhibition of heterocyclic aromatic amines (HAAs) in pork products were investigated. Three HAAs, 2-amino-3,8-dimethylimidazo [4,5-f] quinoxaline ($MeIQ_x$), 2-amino-3,4,8-trimethylimidazo [4,5-f] quinoxaline ($DiMeIQ_x$) and 2-amino-1-methyl-6-phenylimidazo [4,5-b] pyridine (PhIP) were measured in pork products using solid-phase extraction and HPLC. Pork patties were boiled, oven-broiled and pan-fried to internal temperatures of 71, 77 and $88^{\circ}C$. Generally, HAA concentrations increased with increasing internal temperature, and HAA formation was greatest with pan-fried. Selected food ingredients (vitamin E, sodium nitrite, sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium ascorbate, Nanking cherry tissue and cherry tissue extract) inhibited HAA formation in pork patties fried at $225^{\circ}C$ for 10 min/side, with the greater inhibition provided by cherry tissue and its methanolic extract.

용액의 성분 및 농도에 따른 이온교환 특성 연구 (A Study on Ion Exchange Characteristics with Composition and Concentration of Solution)

  • 본 논문에서는 용액의 농도가 이온교환 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 농도는 $Na^+\;50$, 125, 250ppm, $Cl^-\;165$, 315, 610ppm, 입자성 물질의 유입 농도 0ppm, 유속 500ml/min, 이온교환 수지는 ROHM&HAAS IR 120 양이온 수지와 ROHM&HAAS IRA 402 음이온 수지를 사용하였다. 수지탑 배열은 혼상-혼상-음이온 수지탑 순으로, 이온교환 수지탑의 양 음이온교환 수지의 조성 비율은 1:2 로 실험한 결과 이온교환 수지탑 성능은 유입 용액 성분 및 농도에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이온교환 수지탑 배열 순서에 따라 파과시점이 연장되며, 파과순서는 음이온의 경우 $Cl^-\;<\;NO_3\;^-\;<\;F^-$, 양이온의 경우 $Na^+\;<\;K^+\;<\;Ca^{2+}$ 순 이였으며, 용액의 농도가 증가할수록 파과시간이 단축되었다.

실리콘 연마에서 패드 버핑 공정이 연마특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Pad Buffing process on Material Removal Characteristics in Silicon Chemical Mechanical Polishing)

  • This paper investigated the effect of the pad buffing process on the material removal characteristics and pad stabilization during silicon chemical mechanical polishing. The pads surface were controlled by the buffing process using a buffer made by the sandpaper. The buffing process is based on abrasive machining by using a high speed sandpaper. The controlled pad by the buffing process show less deformation deviation and stable material removal rate during the CMP process. In addition, the controlled pad ensure better uniformity of removal rate than comparative pads. As a result of monitoring, the controlled pad by the buffing process demonstrated constant and stable friction force signals from initial polishing stage. Therefore, the tufting process could control the pad surface to be uniform and improve the performance of the polishing pad.

Effects of barrier height on electron scattering mechanisms in $\delta-doped$ InAlAs/InGaAs/InAlAs Heterostructures

  • The effects of conduction band offset on 2 dimensional electron gas (2DEG) in N-InAlAs(AlAsSb)/InGaAs/InAlAs (AlAsSb) metamorphic heterostructures (MMHS) are studied. A combination of the Shubnikov-deHaas oscillations and the Hall measurements is used to investigate the electron transport properties of these structures. The mobility in the second subband is higher than that in the first subband in all heterostructures. This is attributed to the fact that electrons in the first subband we, on average, closer to the interface and are therefore scattered more strongly by ionized impurities. The results suggest that intersubband scattering rate is more dominant in structures with higher conduction band offset whereas alloy scattering is found to be more dominant in the higher band offset system.
