A Study to Acquire Sharp Images in the Haas(Skull PA Axial Projection) (Haas 촬영법에서 선예한 영상 획득을 위한 연구)

  • The Study In order to obtain a sharpness Image from Skull PA axial projection (Haas) in a head axial X-ray Examination, this study changed the posture angle using Skull Phantom and evaluated the image subjectively to 5 radiologists who worked in the Department of Imaging at University Hospital. In the prone position, the head was lowered 4 cm from the back of the head, entered 25° toward the head, and the image evaluation score was high with 20 points, such as the back bone, dorsum sellae projected in the large hole, and posterior clinoid process. In addition, the score significance was verified, and the Cronbach Alpha value was evaluated to have good reliability of 0.789. As a result of calculating the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) by setting the region of interest (ROI) of the image, it was the highest at 5.957 for 25° incident at the back of the head and 6.430 for 30° incident at the back of the head. As a result of the study, in order to obtain a sharp image of the back of the head bone, dorsum sellae, and posterior clinoid process when shooting in the axial direction after the head, it is filmed by tilting 25° toward the head from 4 cm below the back of the head. In order to obtain a sharp image of rock pyramid symmetry, petrous ridge, sagittal suture, and lambdoid suture, it is thought that it will be helpful for clinical use if you shoot it 8cm down from the back of the head and tilt it 30° toward the head.

Generation characteristics of disinfection by-products (DBPs) by chlorination in sewage effluent (하수처리장 방류수의 염소소독부산물 발생 특성)

  • This study was performed to investigate the disinfection efficiency and the generation characteristics of disinfection by-products (DBPs) in the sewage effluent. In the case of total coliforms, disinfection efficiency higher than 99%, the required contact time was 30 min at chlorine dose of 0.5 mg/L, 20 min at 1.0 mg/L, and 10 min at 1.5 mg/L, respectively. When the sewage effluent was disinfected with chlorine dose of 0.5 mg/L for 10 min, the maximum generation concentration of trihalomethanes (THMs), haloacetonitriles (HANs) and haloacetic acid (HAAs) were $32.2{\mu}g/L$, $2.97{\mu}g/L$, and $16.29{\mu}g/L$, respectively. The concentration of chloroform was $28.4{\mu}g/L$ corresponding to 88.1% of the THMs. The concentration of HANs and HAAs were found to be inconsiderable. The average residual chlorine concentration of sewage effluent was 0.4 mg/L, the generation concentration of THMs was maximum $1.72{\mu}g/L$ and average $2.79{\mu}g/L$. HANs and HAAs were under the detection limit by GC/MSD.

Changes of Tap Water from the Preparation of Green Tea Leaves (녹차엽 주입에 따른 수돗물의 수질 변화)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the physicochemical characteristics with the elapsed time of $1\~10$ minutes after adding green tea leaves in the tap water. The results are summarized as follows: 1. $UV_{254}$ measurement increased sharply in direct opposition to increasing conductivity slowly. It is expected that the water soluble organic matters were better extracted than minerals. 2. Residual chlorine decay coefficients evaluated by assuming first-order reaction was increased in proportion to adding weights of green tea leaves. 3. In DBP formation experiments, residual chlorine decreased when reaction time was elapsed. whereas DBPs such as HAAs and THMs increased with the passing of time. From these results, it was showed that residual chlorine decay was related with the formation of DBPs. Therefore, use of boiled tap water in preparation of green tea is suggested if the residual chlorine in the tap water is high.

The Effect of Physical Chemistry Factors on Formation of Disinfection by-products (소독부산물 생성에 미치는 물리화학적인 인자 영향)

  • This research studied the effect of factors that are able to form disinfection by-products (DBPs) of chlorination, including natural organic matter (NOM) with sewage, bromide ions, pH and contact time. Trihalomethane (THMs) yield of $0.95{\mu}mol/mg$ was higher than other DBPs yield for the chlorinated humic acid samples. THMs yield of sewage sample was $0.14{\mu}mol/mg$ and haloacetonitriles (HANs) yield in the sewage samples were $0.13{\mu}mol/mg$ but only $0.02{\mu}mol/mg$ for the humic acid samples. As the concentration of bromide ions increased, brominated DBPs increased while chlorinated DBPs decreased, because bromide ions produce brominated DBPs. THMs were highest $(55.55{\mu}g/L)$ at a pH of 7.9 and haloacetic acids (HAAs) were highest $(34.98{\mu}g/L)$ at a pH of 5. Also THMs increased with increasing pH while HAAs decreased with increasing pH. After chlorination, the rate of THMs and HAA formation are faster at initial contact time and then reaches a nearly constant value after 24 hours. This study considers ways to reduce DBP formation by chlorination.
