  • A 2-D model of fluid flow, mass transport and electrochemistry is analysed to examine the effect of current density at the current collector depending on active layer thickness of catlyst in polymer elecrolyte fuel cells. The finite element method is used to solve the continuity, potential and Maxwell-Stefan equations in the flow channel and gas diffusion electrode regions. For the material behavior of electrode reactions in the active catalyst layers, the agglomerate model is implemented to solve the diffusion-reaction problem. The calculated model results are described and compared with the different thickness of active catalyst layers. The significance of the results is discussed in the viewpoint of the current collecting capabilities as well as mass transportation phenomena, which is inferred that the mass transport of reactants dictates the efficiency of the electrode in the present analysis.

  • Due to the increase of the use of precast concrete structures in multistory buildings, this paper deals with the behavior of an specific type of beam-column connection used in this structural system. The connection is composed by concrete corbels, dowels and continuity bars passing through the column. The study was developed based on the experimental and numerical results. In the experimental analysis a full scale specimen was tested and for numerical study, a 3D computational model was created using a finite element analyze (FEA) software, called DIANA. The comparison of the results showed a satisfactory correlation between loading versus displacement curves.

  • The aim of this paper is to present theorems on the exitence of zeros for mappings defined on convex subsets of topological vector spaces with values in a vector space. In addition to natural assumptions of continuity, convexity, and compactness, the mappings are subject to some geometric conditions. In the first theorem, the mapping satisfies a "Darboux-type" property expressed in terms of an auxiliary numerical function. Typically, this functions is, in this case, related to an order structure on the target space. We derive an existence theorem for "obtuse" quasiconvex mappings with values in an ordered vector space. In the second theorem, we prove the existence of a "common zero" for an arbitrary (not necessarily countable) family of mappings satisfying a general "inwardness" condition againg expressed in terms of numerical functions (these numerical functions could be duality pairings (more generally, bilinear forms)). Our inwardness condition encompasses classical inwardness conditions of Leray-Schauder, Altman, or Bergman-Halpern types.

  • In this paper, using proximal-point mappings technique of Raccretive mappings and the property of the fixed point set of set-valued contractive mappings, we study the behavior and sensitivity analysis of the solution set of the system of parametric generalized quasi-variational inclusions involving R-accretive mappings in real uniformly smooth Banach space. Further under suitable conditions, we discuss the Lipschitz continuity of the solution set with respect to parameters. The technique and results presented in this paper can be viewed as extension of the techniques and corresponding results given in [3, 23, 24, 32, 33, 34].

  • The electro-hydraulic pump is usually used in testing equipments which require one control function. But until now, it is not applied to industrial equipments which are exposed to severe working environment and require various control functions. This paper proposes a technique which controls continuously flow, pressure and power by utilizing switching control mode. Mathematical model is developed from the continuity equation for the pressurized control volume and the torque balance for the swash plate motion. To simplify the model we make the linear state equation by differentiating the nonlinear model. We analyze the stability and disturbance by using the state variable model. Finally, we review the control performances of flow, pressure and power by tests using PID controller.

  • The maintenance of continuity on food processing has created a need for the rapid reinstatement of many types of frozen fish to an ambient temperature and good condition. A number of thawing methods are in current use have also several disadvantages in thawing time. discoloration mass loss caused by drying, capital and running cost. These damages are, it is claimed, either eliminated or improves by the vacuum system. An experimental study on the thawing for hair tail and Yellow croaker by the vacuum system were carried out. The Yellow croaker thawing time with this vacuum system took out 170 minutes to reach from $-10.3^{\circ}C\;to\;-0.8^{\circ}C$ at 20mmHg abs. and hair tail thawing time 220 minutes to reach from $-12.2^{\circ}C\;to\;0^{\circ}C$ at 20mmHg abs.

  • In the present study, the numerical prediction of the oil amount leaked from the hole of a damaged tank is investigated using the improved MPS (Moving Particle Semi-implicit) method, which was originally proposed by Koshizuka and Oka (1996) for incompressible flow. The governing equations, which consist of the continuity and Navier-Stokes equations, are solved by Lagrangian moving particles, and all terms expressed by differential operators should be replaced by the particle interaction models based on a Kernel function. The simulation results are validated though the comparison with the analytic solution based on Torricelli's equilibrium relation. Furthermore, a series of numerical simulations under the various conditions are performed in order to estimate more accurately the initial amount of leaked oil.

  • Let T be a bounded linear operator on a complex Hilbert space $\mathfrak{H}$. An operator T is called class A operator if ${\mid}T^2{\mid}{\geq}{\mid}T{\mid}^2$ and is called class $A({\kappa})$ operator if $(T^*{\mid}T{\mid}^{2{\kappa}}T)^{\frac{1}{{\kappa}+1}}{\geq}{\mid}T{\mid}^2$ for a positive number ${\kappa}$. In this paper, we show that ${\sigma}$ is continuous when restricted to the set of class $A({\kappa})$ operators.

  • For a positive integer k, an operator T is said to be k-quasi-*-paranormal if ${\parallel}T^{k+2}x{\parallel}{\parallel}T^kx{\parallel}{\geq}{\parallel}T^*T^kx{\parallel}^2$ for all x $\in$ H, which is a generalization of *-paranormal operator. In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for T to be a k-quasi-*-paranormal operator. We also prove that the spectrum is continuous on the class of all k-quasi-*-paranormal operators.

  • The proposed tracking algorithm approaches geometrical method or position, direction, width of vessel. This algorithm using continuity of vessel in spatial coordinates used to determine direction of the center point, after estimating boundary point in dynamic region. Therefore the tracking of vessel's contour is tracked contour as direction of entire contour in coronary artery. This algorithm is automatically processed by DIP as a compared with conventional method, because searching area varies adaptively to allocate searching region from extracted information at past. And ML estimation expressed robust method or angiography as evaluating sample values after preprocessing.
