모델 예측 제어 기반 Cascaded H-bridge 컨버터의 균일한 손실, 스위칭 주파수, 전력 분배를 위한 알고리즘 (An Algorithm for Even Distribution of Loss, Switching Frequency, Power of Model Predictive Control Based Cascaded H-bridge Multilevel Converter)

  • A model predictive control (MPC) method without individual PWM has been recently researched to simplify and improve the control flexibility of a multilevel inverter. However, the input power of each H-bridge cell and the switching frequency of switching devices are unbalanced because of the use of a restricted switching state in the MPC method. This paper proposes a control method for balancing the switching patterns and cell power supplied from each isolated dc source of a cascaded H-bridge inverter. The supplied dc power from isolated dc sources of each H-bridge cells is balanced with the proposed cell balancing method. In addition, the switching frequency of each switching device of the CHB inverter becomes equal. A simulation and experimental results are presented with nine-level and five-level three-phase CHB inverter to validate the proposed balancing method.

  • In this paper an improved low frequency selective harmonic elimination-PWM (SHE-PWM) technique for Cascaded H-bridge (CHB) converters is proposed. The proposed method is able to eliminate low order harmonics from the output voltage of the converter for a wide range of modulation indices. To solve SHE-PWM equations, especially for low modulation indices, a modified method is used which employs either the positive or negative voltage polarities of H-bridge cells to increase the freedom degrees of each cell. Freedom degrees of the switching angles are also used to increase the range of available solutions for non-linear SHE equations. The proposed SHE methods can successfully eliminate up to $25^{th}$ harmonic from a 7-level output voltage by using just nine switching transitions or a 150 Hz switching frequency. To confirm the validity of the proposed method, simulation and experimental results have been presented.

  • In this paper, we proposed AC/DC boost converter to improve input current harmonic reduction in SMAW(shielded metal-arc welding). The proposed harmonic reduction with the boost converter design and the UC2854 integrated circuit which controls the converter, The topology of welding power supply is made of a pair of boost converter and welder half-bridge IGBT inverter. The voltage arc is modeled by a variable resistance in series with a voltage source. The results has been confirmed by PSIM simulation tool. The simulation results show that input at current is nearly sinusoidal with low harmonic contents and sinusoidal input current waveform at high power factor.

  • In this paper, an improved full bridge inverter is presented to get multiple output for UV lamp and barrier discharge. It has a structure of two equivalent half bridge inverters and one full bridge inverter. The outputs of the proposed circuit can be controlled using frequency and PWM independently. To verify the proposed circuit, theoretical analysis and experimental results has been done using a prototype power supply.

  • In this paper, a source current controlled-scope of the Voltage source PWM converter is considered from one-phase equivalent circuit. And for the improvement of transient characteristics the state quantity of bridge current that is returned from it's error is controlled. With the result of that the bridge current is controlled, this state quantity is known that it is a equivalent braking resistor.

  • In this paper, a capacitors energy strategy based Cascaded H-bridge Converter (CHBC) for steady DC link voltage is proposed, which allow the CHBC to work while DC power fails. The topology of the CHBC is analyzed to construct the proposed strategy. The capacitors energy strategy is deduced based on the principle that the DC link voltage should be steady, the switch state should be smooth and the switch frequency should be normal. Experiments based on a three-module prototype, including static experiment, start experiment and step change experiment, proves the correctness of the strategy. They also verified the excellent fault tolerance ability and good dynamic performance of the proposed strategy.

  • 직렬연결형 다중레벨 컨버터(cascade multilevel converter)는 각기 절연된 DC전압원과 H-bridge 인버터가 한 단위를 이루고, 각 단위 인버터의 출력을 직렬 연결한 구조로서, 부하(전동기)에 정현파에 가까운 전압을 인가할 수 있는 시스템이다 각 H-bridge인버터의 DC전압원으로는 배터리 또는 커패시터등이 사용되는데, 일반적인 경우 각 H-bridge 컨버터의 입출력 파워가 틀려지게 되며, 따라서 DC전압간 불균형이 발생하게 된다. DC전압간 불균형이 발생하면 원하는 전압벡터를 정확하게 발생시킬 수 없게 되고, 고조파 하모닉이 만들어질뿐 아니라, 경우에 따라서는 DC전압원측에과 전압 또는 저전압 폴트가 발생할 수 있다. 본 논문은 N개의 H-bridge 인버터의 DC전압을 측정하지 않고, 전체 상출력 전압만을 측정하여 각 DC전압을 추정하고, 스위칭 패턴을 변경하여 DC전압을 평형화하는 방법을 제안한다. 모의실험을 통해서 알고리즘의 동작여부를 검증하였다.

  • In this paper proposes the soft-switching boost converter and MPPT control for improving the efficiency of PV system. The proposed converter designed H-bridge auxiliary resonant circuit. By this circuit, all of the switching devices perform the soft switching under the zero voltage and zero current condition. Therefore the periodic switching losses can be decreased at turn on, off. The soft switching boost converter designs for 1.5[kW] solar module of the power conversion. Thus, this soft switching boost converter is simulated by MATLAB simulation using Newton-Method algorithm. As a result, Proposed Soft Switching Converter compared to a typical boost converter switching loss was reduced about 61%. And the overall system efficiency was verified to increase about 3.3%.

  • Recently, the interest on power quality has been hot issue. The equipments cause voltage disturbance and has become more sensitive to the voltage disturbance. This paper deals with 5-Level H-Bridge Line-Inter active Dynamic Voltage Restorer(LIDVR) system. The LIDVR has following advantages in comparison with the DVR with series injection transformer It has the power factor near to unity under normal source voltage, can compensate the harmonic current of the load and the instant interruption, and has the fast response. First, the construction, the operation mode and algebraic modeling of LIDVR are reviewed. And then a voltage controller is proposed to get sinusoidal load voltage with constant amplitude. To find PWM method suitable for H-Bridge converter, two PWM methods are compared and analyzed. Finally, simulation results verify the proposed 5-level H-Bridge LIDVR system.
