  • The demand for improved rail transportation safety is growing due to the increased speeds of current railways. In addition, freight trains with heavier axle loads are required to run on conventional railways. In order to meet these requirements, increased rail weights and the application of a CWR system have been introduced on conventional railways. The H type sleeper, which has higher lateral resistance than the existing mono sleepers, has been recently developed to increase track stiffness and reduce track irregularities. In this paper, the effects of a H-type sleeper on track behavior were investigated by 3-Dimensional F.E. analysis.

  • In this study, as a part of research which is to make 50kg NSI PC sleeper Turnout, the main objective of this study are the development of the PC sleeper and the applications H-type guard, 1/40 cant in the turnout, the same position of the switch, incident angle=0, the same skelton. we completed development and laid 50kg NSI PC sleeper turnout at the Shintanjin station. Now we are inspecting the turnout in site every weeks.

  • It is estimated that the running of locally-developed next generation High Speed Trains with maximum speed of 400km/h will help to deteriorate track components. It was presented rail defect coding system in UIC 712R includes the definitions of damage types of rail, maintenance procedures, and etc to detect and maintain. It is necessary to make a track maintenance manual determining track maintenance periods using the standardization of damage types of track components such as: sleeper, fastener, elastic pad. In this paper, the damage types of high speed track components are investigated by referring domestic and foreign literatures. And then the damage types of rail given in UIC 712R is reclassified more particularly and classified damage types of track components using internal high speed railway. In conclusion, this paper suggests standardization for damage types of track components on internal high speed railway.
