Automatic Control of pH and EC by Programmable Logic Controller in Nutriculture of Tomato(Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) (토마토의 양액재배시 Programmable Logic Controller에 의한 pH와 EC의 자동조절)

  • Using the programmable logic controller (PLC), a kind of microcomputer, a facility to control EC and pH automatically in nutriculture of tomato was developed. A program for the automatic control of nutriculture was written in ladder diagram language. EC and pH levels of nutrition solution could be maintained at 1.70-1.72 and 6.1-6.5, respectively, during the entire growing period. Better fruits and higher yield were obtained in automatic control plot than in the control plot. Inorganic elements in plant were higher in the former than in the latter.

State Feedback $H^{\infty}$ Controller Design for Linear Systems with Time-delays (시간지연을 가지는 선형 시스템에 대한 상태궤환 $H^{\infty}$제어기 설계)

  • This paper presents a state feedback $H^{\infty}$ controller design method for linear systems with delayed states and inputs. We derive a sufficient condition that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable for all time-delays and that the $H^{\infty}$-norm of the closed-loop transfer function is less than or equal to some prescribed level $\gamma$. And we propose a sufficient condition for the existence of a state feedback $H^{\infty}$ controller using a form of linear matrix inequality(LMI). Furthermore, we show that the state feedback $H^{\infty}$ controllers can be obtained from solutions satisfying LMI.

  • In this paper, the standard Dole, Glover, Khargoneker, and Francis (abbr. : DGKF 1989) $H_{\infty}$ controller $(H_{\infty}C)$ is extended to the nonlinear feedback linearization-$H_\infty$-based sliding mode controller (NFL-$H_\infty$-based SMC). A stability proof of the closed-loop stability is done by a Lyapunov function candidate using an addition form of the sliding surface vector and the estimation error.

  • In this paper, we are considered various possible disturbance conditions in order to design controller, $H_{\infty}$ optimal controller is successfully designed to control in such as situations. To do this, we are determined weighting function and design parameter $\gamma$ to method of trial and error by Glover-Doyle algorithm. To compare with $H_{\infty}$-PSS and conventional-PSS which is applied in nominal system and load variations, the dynamic characteristics of $H_{\infty}$-PSS controller was verified which has a good response.

  • As h-bridge multilevel inverter is connected with series of single phase power cell, so it obtain high voltage using low voltage power semi-conductor and output voltage similar to sine wave. In this topology, the number of power cell increases in proportion to the output voltage level. Therefore, there are drawbacks that are responsibility against operating ability of main controller and signal wire increase. However, we can overcome this problems by the substitution of serial communication for the PWM signal in power cell control. Additionally, it has merits of reliability and maintenance. This paper deals with the synchronization and phase-shift method of power cell PWM using CAN(Controller Area Network) communication interrupt in H-bridge multilevel inverter. The advantages of proposed method are signal-line simplification using serial communication between main controller and cell controller, burden reduction in main controller, modularization of power cell, easy protection of each power cell, expandability improvement and reliability increase of control signal and power cell. This paper establishes propriety and reliability of proposed method through experiment of 13-level H-bridge multilevel inverter.

  • This paper presents matrix inequality conditions for H$_2$optimal control of linear time-invariant descriptor systems in continuous and discrete time cases, respectively. First, the necessary and sufficient condition for H$_2$control and H$_2$controller design method are expressed in terms of LMls(linear matrix inequalities) with no equality constraints in continuous time case. Next, the sufficient condition for H$_2$control and H$_2$controller design method are proposed by matrix inequality approach in discrete time case. A numerical example is given in each case.

  • A delay dependent fuzzy $H_2/H_{\infty}$ controller design method for delayed fuzzy dynamic systems is considered. Using delay-dependent Lyapunov function, the asymptotical stability and $H_2/H_{\infty}$ performance problem are discussed. A sufficient condition for the existence of fuzzy controller is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). A simulation example is given to illustrate the design procedures and performances of the proposed methods.

A study on proportional multiple-resonance controller for harmonic distortion compensation of single phase VSIs (단상 전압 소스 인버터의 고조파 왜곡 보상을 위한 비례 다중 공진 제어기에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, simulation and experimental results are presented, including the implementation of a digital controller for robust output voltage control of a single-phase voltage source inverters (VSIs) and total harmonic distortion (T.H.D.v) analysis. Typically, the VSIs uses a proportional integral (PI) controller for the current controller on the inner loop and a proportional resonant (PR) controller for the voltage controller on the outer loop to control the output voltage. However, non-linear loads still produce high-order odd harmonic distortion. Therefore, in this paper, a proportional multiple resonance (PMR) controller with a resonance controller for odd harmonic frequencies is proposed to suppress harmonic distortion. Analyze the frequency response of controllers for VSI plants and design PMR controllers. Through simulation, the total harmonic distortion characteristics of the output voltage are compared and verified when PI and PMR are used as voltage controllers. Both linear and non-linear loading conditions were considered. Finally, the effectiveness of the PMR controller was demonstrated by applying it to a 3kW VSIs prototype.
