  • In this paper, we propose two algorithms for classifying services with similar delay characteristics into three classes and allocating radio resources according to priority in LTE-A system where H2H and M2M services coexist. The first is to allocate resources from the higher priority class to the lower priority class, and each class gives priority to H2H over M2M, and the other is to give priority to H2H regardless of delay characteristics except for the class with the highest priority. The RA success probability was analyzed according to the access rate(${\alpha}$) of M2M devices in each class. In comparison with the conventional systems, it was improved from 0.5 to 0.52 for ${\alpha}_{2M}=0.05$ in two classes. In the three classes, the success probability was slightly increased from 0.5 to 0.57 for ${\alpha}_{2M}={\alpha}_{3M}=1$ and from 0.5 to 0.58 for ${\alpha}_{2M}=0.5$ and ${\alpha}_{3M}=0.1$. Although 6 services are considered in the proposed scheme, the RA success probability is almost similar to the previous scheme because the average arrival rate of H2H of each class is set to the same.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the dissolution patterns of variety of orally administered drug products available on the market. It aimed to understand their dissolution behaviors on the basis of the biopharmaceutics classification system (BCS) concept. On the tenets of BCS, several active pharmaceutical ingredients were selected: fluoxetine hydrochloride (class I), naproxen sodium (class ll), pyridostigmine bromide (class III), furosemide (class IV) and simvastatin (class IV). Typical dissolution media used in this study were pH 1.2, pH 4 & 6.8 phosphate buffers, and water. In cases, particular dissolution media specified in the KP and/or USP were used. Dissolution patterns of fluoxetine hydrochloride and pyridostigmine bromide products were characterized by their rapid release In addition, their dissolution characteristics were relatively unaffected by the type of a dissolution medium. Similar dissolution patterns were observed with pH 1.2, pH 4 & 6.8 phosphate buffers and water. By sharp contrast, poor dissolution patterns were noticed with naproxen sodium products, when pH 1.2 and pH 4 phosphate buffer were used. Improvements in its dissolution were achieved by switching the dissolution media to pH 6.8 phosphate buffer or water. Unsatisfactory dissolution data also were observed with a simvastatin product, when it was subject to dissolution tests by use of a surfactant-free pH 1.2, pH 4 & 6.8 phosphate buffers and water. All the release patterns reported in this study were best understood when BCS concepts were implemented. Our results demonstrated that a BCS-based drug classification should be considered first to choose a dissolution test/method and set up dissolution specification.

  • The reference-class problem is known as a problem that frequentism on the nature of probability is supposed to encounter. Alan H$\acute{a}$jek argues that other theories on the nature of probability also meet this problem inevitably and claims that we can resolve the problem by regarding conditional probabilities as primitive. In this paper I shall present an adequate way of understanding the reference-class problem and its philosophical implications by scrutinizing his argument. H$\acute{a}$jek's claim is to be classified into the following two: (i) probability is relative to its reference class and (ii) what is known as the 'Ratio' analysis of conditional probability is wrong. H$\acute{a}$jek believes that these two are to be closely related but I believe these two should be separated. Moreover, I shall claim that we should accept the former but not the latter. Finally, regarding the identity condition of reference class I shall distinguish the extensional criterion from the non-extensional one. I shall claim that the non-extensional criterion is the right one for the identity condition of reference class by arguing that the reference-class problem should be regarded as an instance of the qua-problem.

  • Abstract. For a positive square-free integer m, let K = ℚ($\sqrt{m}$) be a real quadratic field. The relative class number Hd(f) of K of discriminant d is the ratio of class numbers 𝒪K and 𝒪f, where 𝒪K is the ring of integers of K and 𝒪f is the order of conductor f given by ℤ + f𝒪K. In 1856, Dirichlet showed that for certain m there exists an infinite number of f such that the relative class number Hd(f) is one. But it remained open as to whether there exists such an f for each m. In this paper, we give a result for existence of real quadratic field ℚ($\sqrt{m}$) with relative class number one where the period of continued fraction expansion of $\sqrt{m}$ is 6.

  • Let $k = Q(\sqrt{m})$ be a real quadratic field. In this paper, the following theorems on p-divisibility of the class number h of k are studied for each prime pp. Theorem 1. If the discriminant of k has at least three distinct prime divisors, then 2 divides h. Theorem 2. If an odd prime p divides h, then p divides $B_{a,\chi\omega^{-1}}$, where $\chi$ is the nontrivial character of k, and $\omega$ is the Teichmuller character for pp. Theorem 3. Let $h_n$ be the class number of $k_n$, the nth layer of the $Z_p$-extension $k_\infty$ of k. If p does not divide $B_{a,\chi\omega^{-1}}$, then $p \notmid h_n$ for all $n \geq 0$.

  • To investigate the relationship of skeletal maturity among the normal occlusion group and each malocclusion groups, the author used hand and wrist X-ray of 133 Korean 13 year old boys (normal occlusion 30, Class I malocclusion 35, Class II malocclusion 35 and Class III malocclusion 33) and assessed their skeletal maturity. In this study, fourteen skeletal maturity stages were selected from; Radius, Hamate, Pisiform, Ulnar sesamoid of the metacarpophalangeal joint of the first thumb, proximal phalanges of the first, second and third finger, middle and distal phalanx of the third finger. The difference of skeletal maturity of each malocclusion groups in relative to normal occlusion group and that of each malocclusion groups were analyzed. The findings of this study can be summerized as follows: 1. Average skeletal maturity stage of each groups were MP3cap stage in normal occlusion group, H-2 stage in Class I malocclusion group, midstage between S and H-2 stage in Class II malocclusion group, MP3cap stage in Class III malocclusion group. 2. There was no significant difference in skeletal maturity of Class I malocclusion and Class III malocclusion groups in relative to normal occlusion group. 3. There was significant retardation of skeletal maturity in Class II malocclusion group in relative to normal occlusion group. 4. There was no significant difference in skeletal maturity between Class I and Class II malocclusion groups. 5. There was no significant difference in skeletal maturity between Class I and Class III malocclusion groups. 6. There was significant retardation of skeletal maturity in Class II malocclusion group in relative to Class III malocclusion group.

  • We investigate some generalization of a class of Hankel-Clifford transformations having Fox H-function as part of its kernel on a class of Boehmians. The generalized transform is a one-to-one and onto mapping compatible with the classical transform. The inverse Hankel-Clifford transforms are also considered in the sense of Boehmians.

  • We consider M/M/1 feedback queues with multi-class customers. We assume that different classes of customers have different arrival rates, service rates and feedback probabilities. Using the h-transforms of McDonald(999) we derive an importance sampling estimator for an overflow probability that the total number of customers in the system reaches a high level before emptying.
