Tensile Load Transmission Capacity of H-shaped Beam by Stud Connectors (스터드 커넥터로 연결된 H형강보의 인장하중 전달성능)

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate tensile load transmission capacity of H-shaped beam about design load by stud connector. The basic test of stud connecter was conducted and two specimens of full-scale size were tested under monotonic tensile loading condition. The parameter of tests is the size of the H-shaped beams. The results show that tensile load transmission capacity of H-shape beam about design load by stud connectors is excellent observing to the design code of steel structures of Architectural Institute of Korea.

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate in-plane and out-of-plane moment transmission capacity of H-shaped beams about design load by stud connector. Four specimens were tested under monotonic moment loading condition in each case to evaluate those. The parameter of tests is the size of the H-shaped beams. The results show that moment transmission capacity of H-shape beams in the serviceability limit state by stud connectors is excellent observing to the design code of steel structures of Architectural Institute of Korea.

  • Square hollow section columns and H-section beams have recently been increasing1y used. Rigid column-beam connections cannot be made for the structural system and thus some measures to improve the rotational stiffness of connections should be developed. For this purpose, several types of connections. such as H-section beams connected to concrete-filled square hollow section columns, have been contrived and put to experiment. Since the experimental works are usually difficult and expensive. Particularly test of all the types of connections with similar behavior may not be feasible. Instead, the numerical analysis will be adopted predict the flexural stiffness of connections. In this work, FEM modeling techniques are examined and parametric analysis study has been carried out. The major parameters considered are concrete strength, thickness of steel column, magnitude and eccentricity of axial forces.

  • This paper is concerned with a theoretical study on the local load-carrying capacities of Concrete-Filled Circular Tubular(CFCT) column to H-beam connections by yield line theory. In this paper, the three cases which are assumed the yield line are involved. The first model is a simplified yield line model. The second model is modified by x and kx factors. The last one is a Morita's model. The local load-carrying capacities of CFCT column to H-beam connections has been studied both experimentally and theoretically using the yield line theory. The purpose of this paper is to suggest the basic data for developing the non-diaphragm connection.

  • This paper is a study on the structural behavior of CFCT(Concrete-Filled Circular Tubular) column to H-beam connections with longitudinal rib. The important parameters are being longitudinal rib or not. variable column thickness(5.8mm. 9.2mm. 12.0mm. 15.0mm) around the joint between CFCT and H-beam and the width of flange to diameter. Test results are summarized for the strength, initial stiffness, failure mode and energy absorption capacities of each specimen. These are compared with the theoretical results(Yield line theory, numerical analysis). Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the stiffness and the strength of connections to evaluate the structural behavior of the CFCT column to H-beam connections with longitudinal rib.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the structural behavior of concrete-filled steel tubular column-H beam connections with exterior stiffeners. As a preliminary test, simple tensile test on the column to H-beam flange connections stiffened were conducted The paramaters of tensile test are the thickness(T=9, 12, 15m) and the width(W=50, 75, 100, 150mm) of exterior stiffeners. The simple tensile test were conducted to 7 kinds of specimens. Estimating the load, displacement, and strain from each kind, results of simple tensile test were compared with results of second test. On the basis of simple tensile test, test on the column to H-km connections stiffened with the sames under monotonic and cyclic load were conducted. Specimens of 5 for the second experiment were made. In analysis, comparing each strengthes and stiffnesses we estimated deformation capacity. Comparing and estimating each yielding strength ratios and maxium-strength ratios on the basis of yield line theory, new strength formula of beam-to-column connections was suggested.

Specimens of 5 are made for monotonic and cyclic loading test. In analysis, estimating the yielding strength and maximum strength of specimens on the basis of yield line theory, strength formula of beam-to column connections with concrete-filled steel tubular column was suggested.

The first, we made experiment on the Column to H-beam flange connections stiffened with simple tensile loading. The paramaters of tensile experiment are the area of each plates. The simple tensile experiment is conducted to 5 kinds of specimens. Eestimating the load, displacement, and strain from each kind, we compared them with results of second experiment. The second, we made experiment on the Column to H-beam connections stiffened with the sames under monotonic and cyclic load. we made specimens of 5 for the second experiment. In analysis, comparing each strengthes and stiffnesses we estimated deformation capacity. Comparing and estimating each yielding strength ratios and maxium-strength ratios on the basis of Yield line theory, we suggested new Strength Formula of Beam-to-Column Connections.

  • This paper is the first step on the study of the industrialization of the mid-story steel building structures. The purpose of this study is to investigate the structural behavior of concrete-filled square steel tubular column to H-beam connections using angles and high tension bolts. The tests are carried out with five types of specimens under static loading and the main parameter is the thickness of angles. Yield-line theory which obtains connection strength by way of the lowest value based on upper-limit theory is applied to predict strength formulas.

Behavior of Steel Beam Connections under Cyclic Loading (반복하중을 받는 철골보 접합부의 거동)

  • Behavior of H-beam connections under cyclic loadings is investigated experimentally in this study. The purpose of this study is to study the effect of steel properties and coping shape on the hysteretic behavior of H-beam connections. Five beam-to-column connection specimens were fabricated and tested under cyclic loadings. The load-rotation curves of the beam connections were mainly obtained. Deformation capacity and energy dissipation capacity of the connections are compared each other. The connections fabricated from SS400 showed good deformability and energy dissipation capacity, but those from SM490 showed brittle fracture at the connection. The coping shape at the connections showed a little difference in cyclic behavior.
