  • 본 논문에서는 직류차단기 내부 아크 러너 구조에 따라 아크에 작용하는 구동력 차이에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 아크 러너 기울기를 변화에 따라 아크 구동력을 계산하였으며, 결과 값들에 대한 비교 분석을 통해 아크 구동력 차이의 발생을 확인하였다. 구동력 차이의 발생 원리를 알아보고 아크구동력 향상 방안에 대해 연구하였으며, 결과 방안을 차단시간 단축 요소로써 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) offers the advantages of simple and robust motor construction, high speeds and high efficiencies over a wide operating range of torque and speed, excellent controllability. However, SRM has the disadvantages of high current harmonics, and low power factor because of a capacitor filter is inserted in the power converter and inductance of SRM is high, it has pulse waveform of current. This paper deals with an energy efficient converter fed SRM system with the reduced harmonics and improved power factor and with higher efficiency. The validity of the proposed scheme is verified via experiment. We are implemented the proposed control system using 80C196KC micro-controller.

  • To have cost down and get improved image quality and performance of plasma display panel, several factors have been developed including development of low price material and improvement in production for PDP front plate. In this work, viscosity and surface characteristics of transparent dielectric were investigated to find the optimum and low price materials fabrication condition of transparent dielectric paste. It was found that uniformity and transmissivity of green and fired dielectrics had some relationship with the kinds and content of binder, and solvent as well.

  • This paper proposes a sensorless control strategy for the Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) by using the parallel reduced-order Extended Kalman Filter. The sensorless control strategy is composed with two EKFs alternately computed every sampling period with a new model. The new model is based on the extended electromotive force (EEMF) which has a simple structure, making position estimation possible without approximation. The proposed strategy can save computation time and estimate rotor speed and position. To verify the merit of the proposed strategy, simulation and experimental results validate the theoretical analysis and show the feasibility of the proposed control strategy.

  • This paper proposes a novel diagnosis scheme using Extend Kalman Filter (EKF), especially, in subject to the open-phase faults of the inverter switches. The stator resistances of PMSM are estimated by the EKF in real time. The proposed diagnosis scheme is implemented without any extra devices. Moreover, since it uses a simple algorithm by analyzing only estimated stator resistances of each phase, the detection speed becomes fast. The feasibility of the proposed fault diagnosis scheme is proved by several simulation and experimental results.

Split LDPC Codes for Hybrid ARQ

  • In this paper, we propose a new rate-control scheme, called splining, to construct low-rate codes from high-rate codes by splitting rows of the parity-check matrices of LDPC codes, which can construct rate-compatible LDPC codes having good initial transmission performance. Good low-rate codes can be constructed by making the number of distinct check node degrees as small as possible after splitting. The proposed scheme achieves good cycle property, low decoding complexity, and fast convergence speed, especially compared to the puncturing. Especially, rate-compatible repeat accumulate-type LDPC (RA-Type LDPC) code is constructed using splitting, which covers the code rates from 1/3 to 4/5. Through simulation it is shown that this code outperforms other rate-compatible RA-Type LDPC codes for all rates and can be decoded conveniently and efficiently.

  • A forcasting scheme for daily solar irradiance on agricultural field sis proposed by application of chaos theory to a long term observation data. It was conducted by reconstruction of phase space, attractor analysis, and Lyapunov analysis. Using the methodology , it was determined whether evolution of the five climatic data such as daily air temperature , water temperature , relative humidity, solar radiation, and wind speed are chaotic or not. The climatic data were collected for three years by an automated weather station at Hwasung-gun, Kyonggi-province. The results showed that the evolution of solar radiation was chaotic , and could be predicted. The prediction of the evolution of the solar radiation data was executed by using ' local optimal linear reconstruction ' algorithm . The RMS value of the predicting for the solar radiation evolution was 4.32 MJ/$m^2$ day. Therefore, it was feasible to predict the daily solar radiation based on the chaos theory.

  • This paper studies the effect of pad at initial stage and wear during braking on the dynamic contact pressure distribution. Wear is influenced by variable factor (contact pressure, sliding speed, radius, temperature) during dynamic braking and variation in contact pressure distribution. Many researchers have conducted complex eigenvalue analysis considering wear characteristic with Lim and Ashby wear map. The conventional analysis method is assumed the pad has smooth and flat surfaces. The purpose of this paper is to validate that wear rate induced by braking is considered for the precise squeal prediction. After obtaining pad wear from experiment, it is incorporated with FE model of brake system. Finally, the comparisons in fugitive nature of squeal will be carried out between the complex eigenvalue analysis and noise dynamometer experiment.

  • In order to analyze the characteristics of tidal current power generation system, we measured output power in M-G Set (Motor-Generator Set) and MATLAB/Simulink. We installed M-G Set (Motor-Generator Set) and did a simulation using MATLAB/Smulink. The simulation consisted of the tidal current turbine, PMSG, converter, and three-phase PWM inverter. Also, the speed control of the generator was performed using machine side converter. And we measured output voltage, current, power of the generator and the output power of three-phase PWM inverter.

  • For boarding comfort and pleasant boarding sensitivity of passenger in passenger ship, there are a few methods such as motion sickness rate or MSI(Motion Sickness Incidence) to assess safety of passenger ship. To find out MSI or motion sickness rate of the training vessel Kaya of Pukyong National University, we use lots of various factors: sea condition, incident angle in main sail way, economic speed, calculation position of motion sickness, sea state, work place and reduce zone of ship. In this paper, we adopted Maxsurf Seakeeper program based on Strip Theory and carefully compared theoretical results with experimental results.
