넙치양식장 환경에 따른 생산성에 관한 연구 (An Environmental Effect on Productivity of Flounder Culture Farms)

  • Water temperature of Oliver flounder farm affects Oliver flounder growth and mortality rate. In laboratory experimental tanks, optimal water temperature was $22.5^{\circ}C$($21{\sim}24^{\circ}C$) and cultivatable water temperature was $12{\sim}28^{\circ}C$. The purpose of this study is to identify applicable and useful water temperature of Oliver flounder farm in case of actual farming. The data applied in the analysis was collected from Jeju island. In the study, various analytical methods including productivity analysis, regression analysis, statistical analysis were conducted for 13 Oliver flounder culture farms. The result of analysis can be summarized as follows : First, growth rate on the Oliver flounder culture farms was related to mean of water temperature, variation of water temperature and low water temperature. Second, survival rate on the Oliver flounder culture farms was related to mean of water temperature. In case of including Oliver flounder stocking density, defined as the surface area of Oliver flounder per $m^2$ of water surface area, survival rate strongly related to mean of water temperature, variation of water temperature, cultivating capability and stocking density. Third, production weight per $m^2$ of water surface area was strongly related to mean of water temperature, low water temperature and cultivating capability. Growth rate and survival rate was analyzed into mediate variable character.

단근, 줄기 절단과 식재 밀도에 따른 음나무(Kalopanax septemlobus) 묘목의 활착 및 생장 특성 (Effects of Root Pruning, Stem Cutting and Planting Density on Survival and Growth Characteristics in Kalopanax septemlobus Seedlings)

  • Kalopanax septemlobus (Thunb. ex Murray) Koidz. is natively distributed in Korea. The importance of this species has been increased not only for high quality timber but for medicinal and edible uses. However, increasing market demand of K. septemlobus with illegal cutting and overexploitation has resulted in its rapid depletion and destruction of natural habitat. This study was conducted to understand the survival rate and growth characteristics of planted K. septemlobus seedlings with treatment of root pruning, stem cutting and planting density. The survival rate and growth of height and root-collar diameter for one- and two-year old seedlings with different planting densities were investigated in the clear-cut area of a Pinus densiflora stand for five years. One-year-old seedlings were treated with or without root pruning and planted with three density levels (5,000 trees $ha^{-1}$, 10,000 trees $ha^{-1}$, and 40,000 trees $ha^{-1}$). Two-year-old seedlings were treated with and without stem cutting and planted with the density of 5,000 trees $ha^{-1}$. The survival rate of one-year-old seedlings with root pruning treatment in the density of 10,000 trees $ha^{-1}$ was 92%, while that without root pruning in the density of 40,000 trees $ha^{-1}$ was 67% after five years. The height of one-year-old seedlings has been significantly affected only by planting density in the $5^{th}$ year. The survival rate of the two-year-old seedlings with stem cutting was 75.5% and greater than control (67.3%) in the $5^{th}$ year but no difference in height was shown between the two treatments from three years after plantation.

수온과 염분이 양태 자치어의 성장과 생존에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Water Temperature and Salinity on the Growth and Survival of Larvae and Juvenile of Platycephalus indicus)

  • 실험구의 수온은 13, 16, 19, 22, 25℃로 설정하였고, 염분농도는 각각 7, 14, 21, 28, 32 psu로 설정하였으며, 200 L 플라스틱 원형수조에 부화 자어를 각각 500마리씩 수용하였다. 성장은 수온 25℃(21.62±0.14 mm TL)와 염분 28 psu (15.02±0.05 mm TL)에서 가장 높았고, 수온 13℃ (7.04±0.05 mm TL)와 염분 7 psu에서 가장 낮았다. 생존율은 수온 22℃(69.2%)와 염분 32 psu (84.1%)에서 가장 높았으며, 수온 13℃(15.1%)와 염분 7 psu에서 가장 낮았다. 양태는 강어귀 또는 연안 해역에 서식하여 채집이 가능한 어종으로 다른 해수 어종에 비해 염분 내성이 강하였다.

  • For the effective seedling production of the hard shelled mussel, Mytilus coruscus, this study assessed the effects of the dietary value of live food, density, water temperature and salinity on growth and survival rate of the larvae. The optimal survival rate and growth rate were examined under differing conditions of water temperature, salinity, and rearing density for 30 days. The three groups were provided different feeding organisms, such as Isochrysis galbana and Teleaulax suecica. The mixtures were provided at a rate of $5{\times}10^4cell\;mL^{-1}$. The best growth was observed in the group with conditions $21^{\circ}C$ water temperature ($16.2{\pm}9.1{\mu}m$), 33 psu of salinity ($16.82{\pm}3.9{\mu}m$), $2500individual\;m^{-2}$ ($17.2{\pm}5.9{\mu}m$), and fed with $5{\times}10^4cell\;mL^{-1}$ of I. galbana and T. suecica mixture ($16.0{\pm}7.3{\mu}m$). The highest survival rate was found in the group at conditions $18^{\circ}C$ water temperature (66.4%), 33 psu of salinity (24.4%), $2500individual\;m^{-2}$ (65.8%), and fed with $5{\times}10^4cell\;mL^{-1}$ of I. galbana and T. suecica mixture (58.8%). We therefore conclude that the suitable culture conditions for the stable production of hard shelled mussel artificial seedlings was at 18 to $21^{\circ}C$ of temperature, 30 to 33 psu of salinity, 2500 to $5000individual\;m^{-2}$ of rearing density, and feeding supplement of $5{\times}10^4cell\;mL^{-1}$ of I. galbana and T. suecica mixture under semi running water system.

Maroon clownfish, Premnas biaculeatus 초기 자어의 최적 성장과 생존을 위한 먹이생물 급이 계열 (Feeding Regime of Phyto- and Zoo Live Food Organisms for the Optimum Growth and Survival of Maroon Clown fish, Premnas biaculeatus Early Larvae)

  • Feeding regimens was investigated for the growth and survival rate of juvenile Maroon clownfish (Premnas biaculeatus) in order to establish a seed production technique for this fish. Three types of feeding regimens were used, and growth and survival were highest under the following regimen: rotifer from day 0, Artemia from day 4, copepod from day 9 and artificial food from day 15, respectively (P<0.05). The average body lengths of the larvae were $6.76{\pm}0.55\;mm$, $7.63{\pm}0.50\;mm$ and $7.33{\pm}0.43\;mm$ in the Nannochloropsis oculata, Isochrysis galbana and control treatments conducted with 3 larvae/L, respectively (P<0.05). There were significant differences in larval growth between the treatments and controls conducted with 6 larvae/L and 9 larvae/L, respectively (P<0.05) but there was no significant difference between the N. oculata and I. galbana treatments (P>0.05). There were no significant differences in larval growth between the treatments at densities of 3-9 larvae/L (P>0.05). At highest density level, the larvae reared in I. galbana had the highest survival rate whereas survival was lowest in the control.

Evaluating the Effect of Jellyfish Chips on the Survival and Growth of Pinus thunbergii Seedlings Planted in a Coastal Area of Ehime Prefecture, Japan

  • This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of jellyfish chips in promoting the survival and growth of Pinus thunbergii seedlings in a coastal area based on a five-year field investigation from 2012 to 2016. Seedling survival rate was significantly higher in the treatment (96%) than in the control (75%) group in 2012. Furthermore, the height of five-year-old seedlings after plantation in 2012 was significantly greater in the treatment (3.41 m) than in the control (2.32 m) group (t=10.151; p-value<0.01). These results revealed that jellyfish chips can improve soil condition by enhancing moisture retention during the early growth stages and supplying nutrients to the seedlings over time. Our findings indicated that jellyfish chips could be used effectively as an organic fertilizer for growing coastal disaster prevention forests.

Populus nigra×P. maximowiczii F1의 삽수직경(揷穗直徑)이 활착(活着)과 수고생장(樹高生長)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Influence of Cutting Diameter on Survival and Height Growth in Populus nigra×P. maximowiczii F1 Clones)

  • Populus nigra${\times}$P. maximowiczii의 적정삽수(適正揷穗) 굵기를 구명(究明)하기 위하여 삽수직경별(揷穗直徑別) Clone별(別) 활착률(活着率)과 수고생장(樹高生長)을 연구(硏究)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 활착률(活着率) 80% 이상(以上)을 기준(基準)할 때 삽수(揷穗)굵기는 최소(最小) 8mm 이상(以上)이어야 하며 수고생장(樹高生長)과의 관계(關係)는 삽목(揷木) 후(後) 2개월(個月)까지는 삽수직경(揷穗直徑)이 클수록 수고(樹高)도 커지나 이러한 효과(効果)는 2개월(個月) 이후(以後) 즉(即) 7월(月)부터 점차 감소(減少)되는 경향(傾向)을 보였다. 삽수(揷樹)의 굵기가 13mm 이상(以上)되면 그 이하(以下)의 삽수(揷穗)보다도 현격(懸隔)히 활착률(活着率)(92.7%)이 높아지며 수고생장(樹高生長)도 좋아지는 경향(傾向)을 보였다. 일일수고생장(日日樹高生長)은 8월중(月中)에 최고점(最高點)에 달(達)했으며 이후(以後) 점차 감소(減少)하면서 10월(月) 상순(上旬)에는 거의 정지(停止)되는 것으로 추정(推定)된다.

Paracyclopina nana (Crustacea, Cyclopoida)의 생존, 개체발생 및 생산력에 관한 조도의 영향: 실험실내 배양 (Effect of Light Intensity on Survival, Growth and Productivity of the Cyclopoid Copepod Paracyclopina nana: A Laboratory Study)

  • To determine the optimum light intensity for mass culture of the brackish-water cyclopoid copepod Paracyclopina nana, survival, growth, and productivity of the copepod were examined at several light intensities (0, 10, 100, 500, 1,000 lx). The survival rate of P. nana from nauplius to adult decreased with increasing light intensity. The highest survival rate was found under the dark condition, with 61.7% surviving; no significant difference was observed between 0 and 10 lx (51.7%) and the lowest survival rate was with 100 lx (26.7%). Survival rates at 500 and 1,000 lx were significantly lower in comparison with other conditions. The developmental period from nauplius to copepodid (5.8 days) and to adult (11.8 days) at 10 lx was significantly shorter than in the other treatments. Daily mean nauplius production of adult females over 7 days at 0, 10 and 100 lx was significantly higher than at 500 and 1,000 lx. In the 1,000 lx treatment, 99% of the adult females died on the $14^{th}$ day. The optimum light intensity for the mass culture of P. nana could be 10 lx, which had no adverse effects on survival, development, or reproduction.

두릅나무 체세포배 유래 소식물체의 순화에 미치는 배양토 및 공급액의 효과 (Effect of Artificial Soils and Aqueous Solutions for Plantlet Acclimatization of Somatic Embryos of Aralia elata)

  • 두릅나무의 체세포배 유래 소식물체의 효과적인 순화 방법을 개발하고자 플라스틱 용기를 사용 4가지 인공배양토 및 MS 액체배지 등 7가지 수용액 처리를 통해 활착률 및 생장을 조사하였다. 상토는 perlite가 vermiculite보다 활착 및 생장에 양호하였고, 입자가 클수록 활착률 및 생장이 좋았다. 액체배지는 2차 증류수 처리가 가장 양호하여 96%의 활착률을 나타냈으며, 염류농도를 1/4 및 1/8로 낮춘 MS배지는 각각 92%의 활착률을 보인 반면 기본배지 및 1/2 MS배지는 활착률이 저조하였다. 한편 0.1% hyponex와 2% sucrose 처리는 84% 및 76%의 활착률을 각각 나타냈다. 결론적으로 두릅나무의 체세포배 유래 소식물체의 순화는 입자가 큰 perlite를 사용하고 증류수 처리 혹은 염류 농도를 낮춘 MS배지 처리로 효과적인 순화가 가능함을 보여주었다.

공동주택단지내 녹화용 수목의 생장특성 (A Study on the growth Characteristics of the landscape Trees in the Apartment Housing Areas)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic data of the growth characteristics of the landscape trees for better landscape planting design, construction and maintenance through the prediction of landscape change as time passes fly the analysis of survival rate, distribution patterns & increment percent of tree height, width, stem diameter (breast or surface) of widely used six tree species in Seongnam-si Eunhang-jugong apartment housing areas (8 years have passed after landsape alanting work). The main results can be summarized as followed. The tree survival rate of Pinus parviflora was the highest rate 89.2% than any other species, but Acer buergerianum showed the lowest survival rate at that of it 35.0%, & that of Picea abies 70.5 %, Metasequoia glyptostroboides 71.6%, Maknolia denudata 38.9%, Acer paimatum was 71.7%, As a whole, the tree survival rate of coniferous trees were relatively high. The tree height increment percent of the deciduous species wert relatively high. And that of Metasequoia glyptostroboides was the highest rate 11.61% than any other species, but that of Magnolia denudata was the lowest rate 5.59% than any other species. According to this results, the increment percent of trees in this apartment areas were comparatively lower than that of each related species planted in nursery area. And this results would be considered when landscape experts do landscape planting design, construction & maintenance. The distribution patterns of present tree size showed a Normal Distribution like any other biological features.
