The scores of anxiety and depression were measured by a questionnaire with 10 questions on anxiety and 13 questions on depression. It was developed from the Korean Manual of Symptoms-Checklist-90 revision. The collected data were processed using the SPSS PC program and analyzed using $\chi^2$-test and t-test. The result of this study are as follows : 1. The percent of body fat for the experimental group who participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program was lower than that of the control group. 2. The degree of back strength, flexibility (trunk flexion) and balance of the experimental group that participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program was higher than that of the control group. 3. The vital capacity of the experimental group that participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program was higher than that of the control group. 4. The total cholesterol level and atherogenic index of the experimental group that participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program were lower than those of the control group. 5. The scores for anxiety and depression in the experimental group that participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program were lower than those of the control group. • Purpose: This study was conducted to verify the effectiveness of a cost management education program, focusing on the differences between a web-based group and a mobile-based group. Method: This was a quasi-experimental study using a two-group pretest-posttest design. Participants were 74 nurses in a web-based group and 69 nurses in a mobile-based group. Data were collected between January 2 and February 10. The cost management education program was configured such that the participants studied eight modules over four weeks. The after-program post-test was conducted for one week. Results: Both the web-based group and the mobile-based group showed significantly higher values for cost management knowledge (S=5.98, p<.001 and S=2.76, p=.006, respectively). The web-based group had statistically significantly higher values for cost management knowledge (S=4,461.50, p<.001) than the mobile group. Conclusion: The cost management education program showed improvement in knowledge in both the web-based and mobile-based groups; however, the web-based approach was more effective for nurses. A cost management education program which can be implemented effectively across all range of nurses is recommended.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the self-growth group counseling program on the self-concept and the interpersonal relationships of depressed children in elementary school. A total 20 children who were screened by CDI criteria participated in this study, these students were randomly assigned to the experimental group(N=10) and the control group(N=10). The self-growth group counseling programs were implemented for ten week period. The research hypothesis were as follows: 1-1 : The scores on the self-concept measure of the experimental group received the self-growth group counseling program will be higher than the control group. 1-2 : The post-test scores on the self-concept measure of the experimental group received the self-growth group counseling program will be higher than the pre-test scores. 2-1 : The scores on the interpersonal relationships measure of experimental group received the self-growth group counseling program will be higher than the control group. 2-2 : The post-test scores on the interpersonal relationships measure of the experimental group received the self-growth group counseling program will be higher than pre-test scores. 3-1 : The scores on CDI of the experimental group received the self-growth group counseling program will be lower than the control group. 3-2 : The post-test scores on CDI of the experimental group received self-growth group counseling program will be lower than pre-test scores. The results of the study were as follows: First, the scores of the self-concept and the interpersonal relationships measures of the experimental group students appeared to be higher than the control group. However among the self-concept measure, the score of the emotional self showed no statistically significant differences between the groups. Second, within the experimental group, the scores of the self-concept and the interpersonal relationships measures of the post-test appeared to be higher than the pre-test. Third, the scores on CDI measures also showed significant mean differences between the experimental group and the control group, and between the pre- and post-tests. These findings suggested that the self-growth group counseling program interventions were functioned as for improving the self-concept and the interpersonal relationships, and for decreasing the depressed level of children. The implications and limitations of the study were discussed, and the suggestions for further researches were made.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effectiveness of concepts on global warming, practical will and belief on global warming mitigation by experiments based on global warming program. For this study, 60 $6^{th}$ grade students were selected in two elementary schools. They were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The students of the experimental group took part in global warming program focusing experiments for 10 lessons during 2 weeks. The students of the control group were taught according to the regular curriculum of $6^{th}$ grade about global warming. To identify the effects of this program, both groups' students were tested on concepts on global warming, practical will and belief on global warming mitigation before and after the program implementation. Also the students of the experimental group wrote an essay and gave an interview about the program after implementation. The results were that the experimental group gained higher scores than the control group in the concepts on global warming. • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of a taegyo program on parents-fetal attachment and parenthood in first pregnancy couples (mothers and spouses). Methods: The research design was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest experiment. Study participants were 52 first pregnancy couples visiting two medium-scale obstetrics and gynecology clinics located in Gwangju. A total of 52 couples were assigned to the experimental group (25 couples) and the control group (27 couples). The experimental couples were provided with a taegyo program for 4 weeks. Data were analyzed by chi square test, t-test, and ANCOVA using the SPSS program. Results: Post-treatment maternal- fetal attachment, paternal-fetal attachment and motherhood significantly increased in the experimental group as compared to the control group, but post-treatment fatherhood, anxiety, blood pressure and pulse of participants in the experimental group showed no significant difference from those in the control group. Conclusion: From these results, it is suggested that the taegyo program has beneficial effects in enhancing parent-fetal attachment and motherhood in first pregnancy couples. Therefore, a taegyo program can be recommended as a nursing intervention program for first pregnancy couples.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of a group counseling program on high school students' depression and suicidal ideation. Methods: This research was conducted as a quasi-experimental pretest and posttest control and experimental group methodological comparison study. The subjects were 25 high school students (Exp=12, Cont=13) in U City. The depression and suicide prevention program in this study was based on the Ellis' ABC Model. The experimental group participated in the program through eight sessions, but the control group did not receive treatment. Data were collected from November 4 to November 28, 2008, and analyzed using the SPSS/WIN program by frequency, Mann-Whitney, means, standard deviation and Wilcoxon signed rank test. Results: There was statistically significant difference in depression (z=-2.983, p=.003) between the two groups. Suicidal ideation also decreased significantly(z=-2.847, p=.004) in the experimental group. Conclusions: After the eight sessions of the group counseling program for preventing depression and suicidal ideation, it was found that the program was effective to lower the score of depression and suicidal ideation. The results of this study suggest that a school-based prevention program for adolescents should be developed according to depression and suicidal ideation level.
