  • PURPOSE. This study aims to evaluate the accuracy of different shade selection techniques and determine the matching success of crown restorations fabricated using digital shade selection techniques. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Teeth numbers 11 and 21 were prepared on a typodont model. For the #11 tooth, six different crowns were fabricated with randomly selected colors and set as the target crowns. The following four test groups were established: Group C, where the visual shade selection was performed using the Vita 3D Master Shade Guide and the group served as the control; Group Ph, where the shade selection was performed under the guidance of dental photography; Group S, where the shade selection was performed by measuring the target tooth color using a spectrophotometer; and Group I, where the shade selection was performed by scanning the test specimens and target crowns using an intraoral scanner. Based on the test groups, 24 crowns were fabricated using different shade selection techniques. The ΔE values were calculated according to the CIEDE2000 (2:1:1) formula. The collected data were analyzed by means of a one-way analysis of variance. RESULTS. For the four test groups (Groups C, Ph, S, and I), the following mean ΔE values were obtained: 2.74, 3.62, 2.13, and 3.5, respectively. No significant differences were found among the test groups. CONCLUSION. Although there was no statistically significant difference among the shade selection techniques, Group S had relatively lower ΔE values. Moreover, according to the test results, the spectrophotometer shade selection technique may provide more successful clinical results.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of parent-child relationship perceived by university students on value of marriage and partner selection criteria. Questionnaires were distributed to 467 university students with questions covering topics including general personal information and characteristics, parent-child relationship, value of marriage and partner selection criteria. To analysis the data, t-test, ANOVA, and two step cluster analysis was used. The female group A with passive parent-child relationship had high level of negative value of marriage, male group D with active parent-child relationship had high level of romantic and instrumental value of marriage. The male and female passive group considered external condition as a partner selection criteria more than male and female active group does. As a partner selection criteria, passive male group recognized internal condition more than passive and active female group does. and active female group recognized situational condition more than passive male group does. This study reveals that university students' parent-child relationship does have an effect on their value of marriage and partner selection criteria. It is therefore proposed that diversify objectives and education content of family life education should relate not only to individuals' value of marriage but also to their parent-child relationship.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the ramen selection attributes of consumers. This research assigned taste, price, quantity, design, and brand as selection attributes, all of which have already been verified by previous studies as selection attributes when purchasing processed foods. A total of 500 questionnaires were issued, and the survey results were analysed to ensure validity and reliability. A Structural Equation Model was used to test the hypotheses of the study. Based on the analysis, taste, price, quantity, design, and brand had a statistically significant effect on satisfaction. Furthermore, satisfaction had a statistically significant effect on repurchase intention. Among the selection attributes (taste, price, quantity, design, and brand), only price had a statistically significant effect on repurchase intention. However, the influence of the selection attributes on satisfaction varied depending on the consumer's consumption value. In order to analyse the moderating effect of consumption value, the respondent group was divided into a hedonism group and pragmatism group, and analysed. It empirically proved that the hedonistic value-oriented group valued taste, and the practical value-oriented group valued price the most. This study empirically verified the relationship between ramen selection attributes and consumption value, and provided corresponding theoretical and practical implications.

In order to understand the relationship between consumer's personal characteristics and purchase behavior, the study investigated the effect of consumers' personality trait on the clothing selection criteria and preferred clothing image. Survey was utilized to collect the data and subjects were 333 high school students. Measures consisted of three main constructs: Consumer's extroversion and openness based on the Big-Five personality trait, clothing selection criteria, and preferred clothing image. The data were analyzed using PRELIS 2, LISREL 8.8, and SAS 9.2. The subjects was classified into three groups; Group 1 was a group of intermediate-level in openness and extroversion while Group 2 was a group of high-level in both personality traits. Group 3 was a group of high-level in openness but of low-level in extroversion. Clothing selection criteria were confirmed to have five constructs: other-directed, aesthetic, fashion & conformity-oriented, brand-oriented, and practical. In the buying situation, Group 1 prioritized fashion & conformity-oriented and brand-oriented criteria but regarded other-directed and aesthetic as less important than other groups did. Group 2 considered that all of the clothing selection criteria were important except practical. "The were six factors in the clothing image: elegance, simple, ethnic, masculine, active, and modem. The result showed a significant difference between groups in preferred clothing images. Group 2 liked most of the clothing images but group 3 did not. Group 3 preferred simple clothing image more than masculine or ethnic ones. Overall, the study concluded that the openness and extroversion of Big-Five personality traits could serve as a predictor of clothing selection criteria and preferred clothing image.
