  • In this paper, we discuss optimal design of Fuzzy Polynomial Neural Networks by means of Genetic Algorithms(GAs). Proceeding the layer, this model creates the optimal network architecture through the selection and the elimination of nodes by itself. So, there is characteristic of flexibility. We use a triangle and a Gaussian-like membership function in premise part of rules and design the consequent structure by constant and regression polynomial (linear, quadratic and modified quadratic) function between input and output variables. GAs is applied to improve the performance with optimal input variables and number of input variables and order. To evaluate the performance of the GAs-based FPNNs, the models are experimented with the use of Medical Imaging System(MIS) data.

  • This paper introduces a novel neuro-fuzzy system based on the polynomial fuzzy neural network(PFNN) architecture. The PFNN consists of a set of if-then rules with appropriate membership functions whose parameters are optimized via a hybrid genetic algorithm. A polynomial neural network is employed in the defuzzification scheme to improve output performance and to select appropriate rules. A performance criterion for model selection, based on the Group Method of DAta Handling is defined to overcome the overfitting problem in the modeling procedure. The hybrid genetic optimization method, which combines a genetic algorithm and the Simplex method, is developed to increase performance even if the length of a chromosome is reduced. A novel coding scheme is presented to describe fuzzy systems for a dynamic search rang in th GA. For a performance assessment of the PFNN inference system, three well-known problems are used for comparison with other methods. The results of these comparisons show that the PFNN inference system outperforms the other methods while it exhibits exceptional robustness characteristics.

  • We present galaxy luminosity functions (LFs) of subgroups in the Ursa Major cluster. The membership of galaxies is determined by radial velocities which are compiled from the SDSS and NED. We found that the faint end slope (${\alpha}$) of the LF of all sample galaxies in Ursa Major is ${\alpha}=-1.13$. This is consistent with previous result, but shallower than that of the Virgo cluster. Interestingly, the subgroups in Ursa Major show different slopes in their LFs. The NGC 3992 and NGC 4111, the massive subgroups in the Ursa Major cluster, exhibit steep slopes of their LFs comparable to that of the Virgo cluster. On the other hand, less massive group (NGC 3877) shows a very shallow slope of -0.84. Based on the results, we discuss the evolution of galaxies and the assembly history of the Ursa Major cluster.

  • The recycling cell formation problem means that disposal products are classified into recycling product families using group technology in their end-of-life phase. Disposal products have the uncertainties of product condition usage influences. Recycling cells are formed considering design, process and usage attributes. In this paper, a new approach for the design of cellular recycling system is proposed, which deals with the recycling cell formation and assignment of identical products concurrently. Fuzzy ART neural networks are applied to describe the condition of disposal product with the membership functions and to make recycling cell formation. The approach leads to cluster materials, components, and subassemblies for reuse or recycling and can evaluate the value at each cell of disposal products. Disposal refrigerators are shown as an example.

  • The rapid proliferation of wireless networks and mobile computing applications has changed the landscape of network security. Anomaly detection is a pattern recognition task whose goal is to report the occurrence of abnormal or unknown behavior in a given system being monitored. This paper presents an efficient rough set based anomaly detection method that can effectively identify a group of especially harmful internal attackers - masqueraders in cellular mobile networks. Our scheme uses the trace data of wireless application layer by a user as feature value. Based on this, the used pattern of a mobile's user can be captured by rough sets, and the abnormal behavior of the mobile can be also detected effectively by applying a roughness membership function with the age of the user profile. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated by using a simulation. Simulation results demonstrate that the anomalies are well detected by the proposed scheme that considers the age of user profiles.

  • One of the requirements for autonomous vehicles on off-road is to move stably in unstructured environments. Such capacity of autonomous vehicles is one of the most important abilities in consideration of mobility. So, many researchers use contact and/or non-contact methods to determine a terrain whether the vehicle can move on or not. In this paper we introduce an algorithm to classify terrains using visual information(one of the non-contacting methods). As a pre-processing, a contrast enhancement technique is introduced to improve classification of terrain. Also, for conducting classification algorithm, training images are grouped according to materials of the surface, and then Bayesian classification are applied to new images to determine membership to each group. In addition to the classification, we can build Traversability map specified by friction coefficients on which autonomous vehicles can decide to go or not. Experiments are made with Load-Cell to determine real friction coefficients of various terrains.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose types of joint venturesthat can increase the competitivenessof a company in the marketplace. We examine the characteristics of individual venture enterprises based on technology. We considered 16 TEA in order to categorize companies into four groups. Next, we used a multinomial logistic regression model to identify the significant characteristics of a venture company that successfully predicts group membership. Based on this information, we propose various forms of joint venture which complement each other and produce higher overall competence. Our study can provide important feedback information to academics, Policy-makers.

추후에는 구현된 세션 관리 프로토콜인 SMP(Session Management Protocol)와 함께 세션의 참여자들을 관리하기 위한 프로토콜인 MMP(Membership Management Protocol)를 구현하고 이 세션과 참여자 관리 구조를 바탕으로 세션 전송 프로토콜인 GMP(Group Management Protocol)를 구현할 계획이다.

  • In order to get the practical suggestions concerning the development of the domestic senior facilities in the rural area, a survey was made in the Philippines and Thailand to grip the policies and programs for senior, by visiting the government institute and senior village facilities. As for the Philippines, Philippine Retirement Authority was attracting investment of foreigners and individuals having Philippine citizenship, by issuing SRRV(the Special Resident Retiree's Visa), and as for Thailand, the Thai Longstay Management Company Limited was providing membership system for the abode of foreigners. In case of the domestic residence for seniors, it is suggested that the development of the senior housing community be designed in accordance with the diversified purposes of residence; that is, the prime concern of the community should be reflected on the characteristics of the retiree group (such as the lifestyle, health situation, etc), and at the same time, special concern also be showed on managing the community club house facilities, and keeping the amicable relations between the retiree residents and the local villagers.
