Social Identity and Regulatory Focus: Can Collective Orientation Influences Consumers' Message Evaluation?

  • To investigate the interplay between individual and collective self-regulations, the authors propose a dialectic process that describes the changes in the locus of self-regulations between individual self and collective self. The results from three studies display a strong support for the two sets of hypotheses drawn from the proposed process. Our findings demonstrate that consumers can move the locus of self-regulation from individual-self to collective-self when a social identity is activated (preliminary study and study1). Further examination of regulatory swing between individual and collective regulatory orientations revealed group identification as a key variable in determining the locus of self-regulation (study2). While a consumer with a high level of group identification changes her locus of self-regulation from an individual to a collective (a regulatory shift) and evaluated messages and products framed consistent with their group orientation, a consumer with low level of group identification maintains her locus of self-regulation in her personal level of self (a regulatory preservation) and evaluated messages and products framed consistent with their personal regulatory focus.

간호사의 환자확인 행동 관련 요인 및 개인-조직 가치일치 분위기의 상호작용 효과 (Factors related to Nurses' Patient Identification Behavior and the Moderating Effect of Person-organization Value Congruence Climate within Nursing Units)

  • Purpose: This research was an empirical study designed to identify precursors and interaction effects related to nurses' patient identification behavior. A multilevel analysis methodology was used. Methods: A self-report survey was administered to registered nurses (RNs) of a university hospital in South Korea. Of the questionnaires, 1114 were analyzed. Results: The individual-level factors that had a significantly positive association with patient identification behavior were person-organization value congruence, organizational commitment, occupational commitment, tenure at the hospital, and tenure at the unit. Significantly negative group-level precursors of patient identification behavior were burnout climate and the number of RNs. Two interaction effects of the person-organization value congruence climate were identified. The first was a group-level moderating effect in which the negative relationship between the number of RNs and patient identification behavior was weaker when the nursing unit's value congruence climate was high. The second was a cross-level moderating effect in which the positive relationship between tenure at the unit and patient identification behavior was weaker when value congruence climate was high. Conclusion: This study simultaneously tested both individual-level and group-level factors that potentially influence patient identification behavior and identified the moderating role of person-organization value congruence climate. Implications of these results are discussed.

다낭성난소증후군 변증도구와 생체지표 간의 상관성 연구 (A Correlation Study of Pattern Identification Instrument and Biomarkers for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between Pattern identification instrument and biomarkers in polycystic ovary syndrome patients. Methods: Pattern identification instrument questionnaire, Sasang constitutional test, body composition test, pulse analyzing test, laboratory test were performed and the results were analyzed. Correlation analysis was performed between pattern identification and laboratory test results. Results: Testosterone, SHBG, $17{\alpha}$-OH-progesterone, AMH were highest in the Kidney-Yang Deficiency (腎陽虛) group. LH, FSH, LH/FSH ratio were the highest in the Endogenous Heat due to Yin Deficiency (陰虛內熱) group. DHEA-S was the highest in the Dampness-Heat in Liver Meridian (肝經濕熱) group. E2, Prolactin, Cholesterol, Triglyceride, HDL-Cholesterol, LDL-Cholesterol, Glucose (FBS), Insulin, HOMA-IR ratio, HbA1c were the highest in the Phlegm-Dampness (痰濕) group. Conclusions: In this study, we obtained basic data analyzing the correlation between pattern identification instrument and biomarkers in polycystic ovary syndrome patients. If further studies are performed, we expect to be able to obtain clues to study the mechanism of polycystic ovary syndrome.

뇌경색 환자의 경동맥 초음파 검사와 한방 중풍 변증과의 관련성 연구 (Study on the Relationship between Carotid Intima-Media Thickness and Korean Standard of Pattern Identification in Ischemic Stroke Patients)

  • ■ Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation of The Korean Standard Pattern Identification for Stroke and Intima-Media Thickness of common carotid artery(CCA-IMT). ■ Methods 100 subjects with acute ischemic stroke were recruited from the patients admitted to DongEui Medical Center from the June 2011 to January 2014. We assessed 100 patient's Common Carotid Intima Media Thickness data by B Mode ultrasonography. We investigated pattern identification of all subjects based on Korean Standard Pattern Identification for Stroke-III. then, We analyzed their characteristics, risk factor, blood test result, life style. ■ Results We analyzed indicators of Korean Standard Pattern Identification for Stroke-III by Common Carotid Intima Media Thickness difference. As a result, pale complexion, look powerless, drowsiness like to lie, heat vexation and aversion to heat were significantly higher in the CCAIMT ≧ 1.0mm group then in the CCA-IMT < 1.0mm group. ■ Conclusion According to the analysis, the Relationship between Carotid Intima-Media Thickness and The Korean Standard Pattern Identification for Stroke in Ischemic Stroke Patients were founded. To acquire more concrete conclusion on this theme, we need more research.

Simultaneous Detection and Identification of Bacillus cereus Group Bacteria Using Multiplex PCR

  • Bacillus cereus group bacteria share a significant degree of genetic similarity. Thus, to differentiate and identify the Bacillus cereus group efficiently, a multiplex PCR method using the gyrB and groEL genes as diagnostic markers is suggested for simultaneous detection. The assay yielded a 400 bp amplicon for the groEL gene from all the B. cereus group bacteria, and a 253 bp amplicon from B. anthracis, 475 bp amplicon from B. cereus, 299 bp amplicon from B. thuringiensis, and 604 bp amplicon from B. mycoides for the gyrB gene. No nonspecific amplicons were observed with the DNA from 29 other pathogenic bacteria. The specificity and sensitivity of the B. cereus group identification using this multiplex PCR assay were evaluated with different kinds of food samples. In conclusion, the proposed multiplex PCR is a reliable, simple, rapid, and efficient method for the simultaneous identification of B. cereus group bacteria from food samples in a single tube.

  • Unification of neural network with a hierarchical pattern recognition is presented for recognizing large set of objects. A two-step identification procedure is developed for pattern recognition: coarse and fine identification. The coarse identification is designed for finding a class of object while the fine identification procedure is to identify a specific object. During the training phase a course neural network is trained for clustering larger set of reference objects into a number of groups. For training a fine neural network, expert neural network is also trained to identify a specific object within a group. The presented idea can be interpreted as two step identification. Experimental results are given to verify the proposed methodology.

물리적 섬유감별방법에 대한 중학교 의복재료 단원 탐구활동지 개발 (Development of Instructional Materials about Physical Fiber Identification Method in Home Economics Lesson of the Middle School)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 중학교 기술 가정교과 의복재료 단원에서 실물 교육자료집을 좀 더 적극적으로 활용하여 의복재료에 대한 학습자의 흥미와 이해를 높이고자 물리적 섬유감별방법이 들어간 탐구활동지를 개발하는데 있다. 이를 위해 중학교 2학년 수준에 적합한 물리적 섬유감별 방법을 개발하였으며, 이를 실제 수업에 적용하고 그 효과를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 양모와 아크릴, 견과 폴리에스터를 비교하는 물리적 섬유감별방법을 개발하였으며, 이를 활용하여 탐구활동지를 개발하였다. 탐구활동지를 수업에 활용한 실험 집단과 사용하지 않은 통제 집단의 학습흥미도, 학습수용태도, 학업성취도를 비교 분석한 결과, 탐구활동지를 사용한실험집단이 통제 집단보다 모두 높은 점수를 보였으며, 유의미한 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 제작된 섬유감별방법과 탐구활동지는 의복재료에 대한 학습자의 이해를 촉진시켜줄 뿐 아니라, 의복재료에 대한 정보를 학습자에게 제공함으로써 학습자가 실생활에 적용할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 학습자의 자기 주도적 학습을 촉진할 수 있는 것으로 생각된다.

A riboprinting scheme for identification of unknown Acanthamoeba isolates at species level

  • We describe a riboprinting scheme for identification of unknown Acanthamoeba isolates at the species level. It involved the use of PCR-RFLP of small subunit ribosomal RNA gene (riboprint) of 24 reference strains by 4 kinds of restriction enzymes. Seven strains in morphological group I and III were identified at species level with their unique sizes of PCR product and riboprint type by Rsa 1. Unique RFCP of 17 strains in group II by Dde I. Taq I and Hae III were classified into: (1) four taxa that were identifiable at the species level. (2) a subgroup of 4 taxa and a pair of 2 taxi that were identical with each other. and (3) a species complex of 7 taxa assigned to A. castellanii complex that were closely related. These results were consistent with those obtained by 18s rDNA sequence analysis. This approach provides an alternative to the rDNA sequencing for rapid identification of a new clinical isolate or a large number of environmental isolates of Acanthamoeba.

  • Characterization and numerical identification were carried out for an actinomycetes SL20209. Morphological, cultural and physiological perperties of SL20209 which porduced valistatin and des-$asp^4$-amastatin as inhibitors of aminopeptidase M were evaluated. The isolate was identified to be the genus of Streptomyces. Fourty-three taxonomic units were analysed by using a TAXON program. The isolate was classified into the major cluster 29 of Streptomyces and best-matched to Streptomyces griseoplanus.
