족관절 골절 치료에 사용한 금속 내고정물 제거 수술 시 시행한 균 배양 검사의 결과 (Results of Culture Test at the Time of Removal of Metal Implants Used for Ankle Fracture Management)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to report the results of culture test at the time of removal of metal devices used for management of ankle fractures and for analysis of contributing factors. Materials and Methods: We reviewed medical records of 132 patients with lower tibia and ankle fracture who had their metal devices removed during the period from January 2010 to February 2014. Patients with clinical signs of infection were excluded. Culture test was performed by taking the granulation tissue around the metal device at the time of removal. We divided the subjects into two groups, culture positive and negative. We then performed a retrospective review of each medical record of multiple factors that might contribute to the culture results, including laboratory results, medical history, material and size of metal device, indwelling period, and whether or not it was open injury. Results: Among 132 cases, six were culture positive. Enterococcus was detected in two cases and the others were Staphylococcus. No significant difference in medical history of patients and laboratory results, including C-reactive protein level, was observed between the culture positive and negative group. Culture positive rate was 5.4% in titanium and 3.9% in stainless steel. In terms of metal size, culture positive rate was 5.1% in small plates, 6.7% in large plates, and culture negative in intramedullary nails. The average indwelling period of metal device was 61.5 weeks in the culture positive group, and 68.6 weeks in the negative group. Nine cases were open fractures and all were in the culture negative group. Conclusion: Whether or not the culture result was positive, there were no meaningful contributing factors. Presence of bacterium on the metal device could not be screened by any laboratory results or other factors.

Correlation Between Sorangium cellulosum Subgroups and Their Potential for Secondary Metabolite Production

  • Phylogenetic analysis of the groEL1 and xynB1 gene sequences from Sorangium cellulosum strains isolated in Korea previously revealed the existence of at least 5 subgroups (A-E). In the present study, we used sequence analysis of polymerase chain reaction-amplified biosynthetic genes of strains from the 5 subgroups to indicate correlations between S. cellulosum subgroups and their secondary metabolic gene categories. We detected putative biosynthetic genes for disorazol, epothilone, ambruticin, and soraphen in group A, group C, group D, and group E strains, respectively. With the exception of KYC3204, culture extracts from group A, group B, and group C strains exhibited no noticeable antimicrobial inhibitory activities. By contrast, culture extracts from group D strains inhibited the growth of Candida albicans, whereas culture extracts from group E strains inhibited the growth of C. albicans and Staphylococcus aureus. High performance liquid chromatography analysis of the culture extracts from the strains of each subgroup revealed unique peak patterns. Our findings indicate the existence of at least 5 subgroups of S. cellulosum strains, each of which has the potential to produce a unique set of secondary metabolites.

대학병원과 중소병원 간호사의 환자안전문화에 대한인식과 환자안전간호활동의 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on Perception of Patient Safety Culture and Safety Care Activities: Comparing University Hospital Nurses and Small Hospital Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare perception of patient safety culture and safety care activities between university hospital nurses (group A) and small hospital nurses (group B). Methods: Using a structured questionnaire, data were collected from 246 university hospital nurses and 223 small hospital nurses working in Seoul or Gyeonggi Province. Descriptive statistics, $x^2-test$, ANCOVA, t-test, ANOVA with the SPSS package were used for data analysis. Results: Total score for perception of patient safety culture and 3 subcategories of perception of patient safety culture were statistically significantly higher for group B compared to group A. Operation room nursing, falls, and bed sore scores in patient safety care activities were statistically significantly higher for group A than for group B. Conclusion: The study findings suggest that the specific characteristics by size should be considered when developing effective patient safety culture in hospitals.

Glutamine 함유 배양액에 첨가한 에너지원이 마우스의 배 발달에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Energy Sources (Glucose, Pyruvate and Lactate) Added to Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) on the Mouse 2-cell Embryo Development)

  • Objective: Mammalian embryos undergo changes of energy environment for transfer from oviduct to uterus. Also, the human reproductive organ (oviduct, uterus) contains energy sources of different concentration (oviduct - glucose: 0.5 mM, pyruvate: 0.32 mM, lactate: 10.5 mM; uterus - goucose: 3.15 mM, pyruvate: 0.1mM, lactate: 5.87 mM, respectively). This study was conducted to examine the effect of these energy sources added in DMEM with glutamine on the mouse embryo development. Methods: There was used ICR female mouse. Two cell embryos of mouse are collected by method of 'flushing'. Flushing fluid was used Ham's F-10 added to 20% FBS. The collected 2 cell embryos were cultured in media such as Control (only DMEM), group A and B (DMEM supplemented with 0.5 mM and 3.15 mM glucose), and group C and D (DMEM supplemented with 0.1 mM and 0.32 mM pyruvate), and group E and F (DMEM supplemented with 5.87 mM and 10.5 mM lactate). All experimental media supplemented with 20% hFF, respectively. Pattern of embryo development was observed to interval at 24hr during 96hr. Results : The media with glutamine added glucose (group A: 51.0%; group B: 48.4%) was significantly (p<0.05) higher than other experimental group in development into the morula stage after 24 hr in culture, but not significantly different compared with control and the rate of development into the blastocyst was significantly (p<0.05) low in the both of pyruvate (group C: 7.9% group D: 6.8%) and lactate (group E: 7.1%, group F: 7.1%) treatment group after 48 hr in culture. Development into the blastocyst and hatched balstocyst after 72 hr in culture revealed similarly in control (81.9%) and glucose treatment group (group A: 83.3%, group B: 82.8%). However, development into the hatched and attached blastocyst after 96hr in culture revealed significantly (p<0.05) development in the glucose treatment group (group A: 82.3%, group B: 78.5%) than control (63.2%), and its of pyruvate (group C: 34.1%, group D: 34.1%) and lactate (group E: 25.9%, group F: 33.3%) treatment group were significantly (p<0.05) lower than control similar to previous observations. Conclusion : The glucose added to the DMEM with only glutamine, as energy source, was highly to the rate of development compared with control, but the other energy sources were not, synthetically. Above refer to, the human reproductive organ (oviduct, uterus) contains energy sources of different concentration. Thus, further studies are will examine continuously to effects by interaction of different energy sources in the mouse embryo development, and these results will provide to foundation on the human embryo culture.

Effect of evaporation-induced osmotic changes in culture media in a dry-type incubator on clinical outcomes in in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer cycles

  • Objective: This study investigated whether adding outer-well medium to inhibit osmotic changes in culture media in a dry-type incubator improved the clinical outcomes of in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) cycles. Methods: In culture dishes, the osmotic changes in media (20 µL)-covered oil with or without outer-well medium (humid or dry culture conditions, respectively) were compared after 3 days of incubation in a dry-type incubator. One-step (Origio) and G1/G2 (Vitrolife) media were used. Results: The osmotic changes in the dry culture condition (308 mOsm) were higher than in the humid culture conditions (285-290 mOsm) after 3 days of incubation. In day 3 IVF-ET cycles, although the pregnancy rate did not significantly differ between the dry (46.2%) and humid culture (51.0%) groups, the rates of abortion and ongoing pregnancy were significantly better in the humid culture group (1.5% and 49.5%, respectively) than in the dry culture group (8.3% and 37.8%, respectively, p<0.05). In day 5 IVF-ET cycles, the abortion rate was significantly lower in the humid culture group (2.2%) than in the dry culture group (25.0%, p<0.01), but no statistically significant difference was observed in the rates of clinical and ongoing pregnancy between the dry (50.0% and 25.0%, respectively) and humid culture groups (59.5% and 57.3%, respectively) because of the small number of cycles. Conclusion: Hyperosmotic changes in media occurred in a dry-type incubator by evaporation, although the medium was covered with oil. These osmotic changes were efficiently inhibited by supplementation of outer-well medium, which resulted in improved pregnancy outcomes.

항생제 대체제로서 미생물배양액 및 vitamin-C 급여가 육우의 증체 및 도체형질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Microbial feed Additive and vitamin-C as an Alternative to Antibiotic on Growth Performances and Carcass Characteristics of Meat Cows)

  • 본 연구는 미생물제제의 일종인 yeast culture 및 코팅 처리된 vitamin-C의 첨가 급여를 통해 비육 말기 Holstein 거세우의 증체 및 도체형질에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위한 목적으로 실시하였다. 평균체중이 $714{\pm}13.60kg$인 18개월령 Holstein 거세우 24두를 공시동물로 이용하였으며 각각 8두씩 3개 시험구로(대조구, MC급여구, CVC급여구) 완전임의 배치하여 출하 전 3개월간 사양시험을 실시하였다. MC급여구는 yeast culture를 일일 30 g, 코팅 처리된 vitamin-C는 일일 10 g씩 매일 아침 사료급여 시 top dressing형태로 급여하였다. 일당증체량은 MC급여구가 가장 높았으며 사료요구율은 MC급여구와 CVC급여구에서 가장 낮았다. 등지방두께, 배체장근 및 육량은 시험구간 유의차가 없었다. 지육중량과 성숙도는 MC급여구에서 가장 높았으며, 지방색은 CVC급여구에서 가장 높게 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 보면 출하 3개월 전 Holstein 거세우에게 항생제 대체제로 미생물제제인 yeast culture 또는 코팅 처리된 vitamin-C의 급여는 육질에는 큰 효과가 없으나 육량, 지육중량, 사료요구율 등에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 아울러 미생물제제와 vitamin-C를 함께 급여하면 더욱 좋은 효과가 있을 것으로 예상된다.

산서 분주그룹 기업문화연구 (A Study on Corporate Culture of Shanxi Fenjiu Group)

  • 중국에서 술은 단순한 음료를 넘어서, 일종의 문화를 이루고 있다. 중국의 술문화는 매우 오랜 역사를 지니고 있고, 중국에서 주류회사는 엄청난 규모와 이익을 보여주고 있다. 각 지역별로 많은 회사들이 있는데, 분주는 산서성의 장수기업이며, 중국주류시장에서 상당한 영향력과 지명도를 보유하고 있다. 이러한 분주그룹이 지니는 중요성에도 불구하고, 분주그룹에 대한 연구는 한국에 아직 나타나지 않았다. 이에 본 연구는 분주그룹 기업의 발전과정과 기업 문화를 분석하고자 한다. 분주그룹은 약 100여년의 기업역사를 갖고 있으며, 초창기부터 지금까지 주류시장에서 상당한 시장점유율을 보여 왔다. 분주그룹의 이러한 발전은 우수한 기업 문화에서 기인한 것으로 분석되었다. 분주그룹은 핵심이념, 품질 및 품격 지향성, 성실과 신용경영을 근본으로 기업 문화를 형성 및 발전시켜 왔다. 이러한 기업문화를 바탕으로 조직구조를 발전시키고, 좋은 제품을 만들어서 높은 지명도와 시장점유율을 자랑하고 있다. 본 연구를 통하여 중국 유명주류회사 및 전통기업에 대한 이해도를 높이고, 한국 주류회사에 대한 시사점을 제시하고자 한다.

ICT 기업의 조직문화가 조직구성원 직무만족과 조직몰입에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Effect of Organizational Culture on Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment In ICT Enterprises)

  • 기업 고유의 조직문화는 조직구성원의 직무관련 행동을 통하여 직무만족을 가져오게 만들며, 조직에 더 충성하려는 조직몰입을 증가시키는 역할로 작용하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 ICT 기업들을 대상으로 조직문화유형에 따른 조직구성원의 직무만족과 조직몰입에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 하는데 연구의 목적을 두었다. 한국직업능력개발원의 제6차 인적자본기업패널 자료를 활용하여 ICT 기업의 조직문화가 조직구성원의 직무만족과 조직몰입에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위하여 선행연구들을 바탕으로 실증분석을 위한 가설의 설정과 검증을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 실증분석 결과는 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, ICT 기업의 조직문화가 조직구성원의 직무만족에 미치는 영향에 있어서는 조직문화유형 중 관계문화, 합리문화, 혁신문화, 위계문화가 조직구성원의 직무만족에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 조직문화가 조직몰입에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 합리문화, 관계문화, 혁신문화는 조직몰입에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 위계문화는 조직몰입에 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. ICT 기업의 조직문화유형 중 관계문화가 조직구성원의 직무만족과 조직몰입에 높은 영향력을 나타내었다. 마지막으로 ICT 기업의 조직구성들의 직무만족은 조직몰입에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 직무만족이 높은 조직구성원은 조직몰입에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 ICT 기업의 성과제고를 위하여 조직구성원들간의 긍정적인 작업환경의 조성과 정보공유를 통한 협력이 중요함을 제시하고 있다.

Effect of Osmolarity of Culture Medium on the Preimplantation Development of Porcine NT and IVF Embryos

  • In vitro development of porcine embryo is affected by culture condition. One possible factor is osmolarity of culture medium. 1his study examined whether high osmolarity of culture medium at the early culture stage improves development of preimplantation porcine in vitro fertilization (IVF) and nuclear transfer (NT) embryos. NT and IVF embryos were divided into three groups and the basic medium was PZM-3 ($250{\sim}270$ mOsmol, control group). The control group of embryos was cultured in PZM-3 for whole culture period. Other two groups of embryos were cultured in a modified PZM-3 with 0.05 M sorbitol or 0.05 M sucrose ($300{\sim}320$ mOsmol, sorbitol or sucrose group) for the first 2 days, and then cultured in PZM-3 for further culture. NT embryos cultured in sucrose group showed a significantly higher developmental rate to the blastocyst stage with a decreased apoptosis rate compared to the sorbitol (p<0.05). For IVF, sucrose group showed a significantly increased the blastocyst formation rate with a decreased apoptosis rate compared to the control (p<0.05). This study represents that the high osmolarity in the early embryo culture stage can enhance the in vitro development of porcine NT and IVF embryos to the blastocyst stage with reduced apoptosis of cells.

Varietal Difference Based on Efficiency of Rice Anther Floating Culture

  • To evaluate the efficiency of anther floating culture according to the maturing group, the varietal difference and classification of fifty varieties was conducted in N6 liquid medium containing 1mg $l^{-1}$ NAA, 0.25 mg $l^{-1}$ kinetin. The efficiency of callus induction was widely ranged from 0 to 113.4%, but the mean callus induction was not significantly different among maturing groups. The efficiency of anther floating culture showed the highest variation in early-maturing group among three maturing groups. The varieties with the best callus induction were Sambaegbyeo and Jinbuolbyeo, while the recalcitrant variety was Obongbyeo in early-maturing group. The efficiency of plant regeneration showed the highest trends in late-maturing group among three maturing groups. The fifty varieties were classified into three groups (distance=0.78) by cluster analysis based on the callus formation and plant regeneration. Group including only two varieties, Shinunbongbyeo and Sambaegbyeo had the excellent androgenic efficiency, and the medium efficiency of Group was included thirty-six varieties. Whereas twelve varieties, including three Tongil varieties were fell into the bad efficiency of Group. Especially, Tongil varieties containing Japonica rice, Obongbyeo were the recalcitrant genotypes for the anther floating culture.
