대동작 기능 평가도구, 대동작 수행능력 측정도구, 그리고 시공간적 보행변수와의 상관관계 (Correlations Among GMFM, GMPM, and the Spatiotemporal Gait Parameters)

  • These were two main purposes of this study. The first was to research the relevance between gross motor function measurement (GMFM) and the spatiotemporal parameters of gait in children with cerebral palsy. The second was to research the relevance between gross motor performance measure (GMPM) and the spatiotemporal gait parameters. Twelve children ($6.0{\pm}1.8$ years) with cerebral palsy participated in this study. GMFM and GMPM were performed and the spatiotemporal parameters of gait were measured by using WalkWay MG-1000. There were no significant correlations between the GMFM score and the stride length, step length, step width, cadence, and velocity (p>.05). The GMPM score also had no significant correlation with the spatiotemporal gait parameter (p>.05).

발달장애 아동의 한약치료에 관한 치험 2례 - GMFM과 PEDI 중심으로 (Two Cases of Patients with Developmental Disorder Treated by Herbal Medicine Alone)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report clinical effect of herbal medicine on developmental disorder Methods: The patients were treated with herbal medicine and evaluated by gross motor function measure(GMFM), and pediatric evaluation of disability inventory(PEDI). Results: The patient's gross motor function measure, and pediatric evaluation of disability inventory were significantly improved after six months to nine months of herbal medicine treatment. Conclusions: This study shows that herbal medicine is effective on developmental disorder induced. However, further clinical studies are needed.

양육시설 영유아의 일반적 특성과 기질 및 애착안정성이 발달에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of General Characteristics, Temperament, and Attachment on the Development of Young Children in Institutional Care)

  • Objective: This study examined that general characteristics such as gender, age, period of stay at an institution, size of facility, and temperament and attachment affect young children's development under institutional care. Methods: A total of 94 young children (ages 2-4years), who live in 32 institutions in Seoul were assessed on their development using the Korean-Age & Stage Questionnaire. Pearson productmoment correlation analysis, and multiple regression analyses were used for data analysis. Results: The major findings of this study were as follows: first, a longer period of stay at an institution had more positive effects on the development of communication. Facilities with more than 60 children had lower communication, gross motor, and fine motor development compared to facilities with less than 60 children. Second, social temperament had positive effects on communication, problem solving, and personal-social development. Emotional temperament had no effects on all development areas. Third, attachment had positive effects on all development areas. Lastly, social temperament and attachment had interactive effects on communication, gross motor, problem solving, and personal-social development. Conclusion: These results imply that caretakers in institutions should give developmental mediation services for considering temperament and facilitation of attachment.

대학생들의 예·복습 시간이 Gross Motor Function Measure의 일부 항목평가 능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of The preparation and Review Times on the Some Items of The gross Motor Function Measure evaluation capacity of the College Students)

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the differenceof GMFM evaluationcapacity according to the preparation and review times on the college students. METHODS: 58 subjects among physical therapymajor studentswere recruited. The group was constructed the fourgroupsbypreparation and review times. The firstgroup was less than 1hour, the second group wasmore than 1 hour ~ less than 2 hours, the third group was more than 2 hours ~ less than 3 hours, the fourth group was more than 3 hours that was preparation and reviewtimes. The students were performed GMFM evaluation capacity after they learned the normal motor development for 5 weeks and evaluation method. They continued the preparation and review learning about the lesson during 5 weeks. RESULTS: The group of more than 3 hours was the highest and next order was the group of more than 1 hour ~ less than 2 hours, group of less than 1hour on GMFM evaluation capacity. CONCLUSION: Preparation and review times improved the GMFM evaluation capacity of students. Therefore, Emphasizing the preparation and review of learning is proper way to increase the evaluation capacity. In addition, the professor should create the appropriate teaching strategies using preparation and review times to upgrade a learner's ability.

Denver Developmental Screening Test에 의한 전남지역 아동의 발육상태에 대한 연구 (The Developmental Status of the Children in Chonnam Area base on the Denver Developmental Screening Test)

  • The Denver Developmental Screening Test was devised to provide a simple method of evaluating the developmental status of infants and preschool children. To assess the development of Korean children, 667 children (390 boys and 277 girls) between the ages of 2 weeks and 6 years who live in Kwangju city and rural areas in Chonnam were examined according to the DDST. The ages at which 25%, 50%, 75%, and 90% of the children performed each item were calculated for the entire sample. The results of these were compared with the norms of Denver children and other related previous studies in Korea. The development of the boys was also compared with that of the girls, and further the test results of city children and country children were also compared. Girls performed the DDST items in personal-social, fine motor-adaptive and gross motor sectors slightly earlier than boys. In general, however, there were no significant differences in the developmental rate between boys and girls. In all four sectors of the DDST, urban children performed the items significantly earlier than rural children. In comparing Korean children and Denver children, Korean children tended to perform gross motor and personal-social items at a slightly earlier age than Denver children. In the language sector, Denver children tended to perform a little earlier than Korean children. But on the whole there were no significant differences in developmental status between Korean and Denver children. It should be noted that a few items, such as“Uses plurals”, needed to be changed due to the structure of Korean language.

경직성 편마비 아동의 둔부 테이핑 적용이 선 자세에서 자세 및 균형에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Gluteal Taping on Posture and Balance During Standing in Children with Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy)

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of the present study was to examine the effect of gluteal taping on posture and balance during standing in children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy (CP). METHODS: The subjects of this study were 13 children (six females, seven males; mean aged 8.5) with hemiplegic CP who were gross motor function classification system (GMFCS) level I. The change of posture and balance during standing before and after gluteal taping were measured using inclinometer, gross motor function measure, and functional reaching test. The collected data were analyzed using the paired t-test. RESULTS: The results of this study were as follows : 1) There were statistically significant decrease in the ant. tilt angle of pelvis after gluteal taping in children with hemiplegic CP (p<.05). 2) There were statistically significant increase in functional reaching test after gluteal taping (p<.05). 3) There was no statistically significant difference in gross motor function measure, but significant increase in one leg standing was observed (p<.05). CONCLUSION: As the above results, we suggest that gluteal taping could be effective on improving body alignment and dynamic balance ability during standing in children with hemiplegic CP. Further studies will be required for the short and long term effects of gluteal taping on improving postural symmetry and balance.

국제 기능 장애 건강분류의 구성요소에 기반을 둔 자기관리 훈련이 경직성 뇌성마비 아동의 기능적 독립성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Self Care Training(based on International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health) on Functional Independence in the Young Children with Spastic Cerebral Palsy)

  • 본 연구는 국제 기능 장애 건강분류의 구성요소에 기반을 둔 자기관리 훈련이 경직성 뇌성마비 아동의 기능적 독립성에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 K광역시 소재 병원 두 곳의 재활의학과에 내원하는 35개월 이상 72개월 미만인 경직성 뇌성마비 아동(남아=25, 여아=18) 중 GMFCS(Gross Motor Function Classification System) level III-IV인 아동 43명으로 구성하였다. 연구기 간은 2008년 8월 1일부터 2008년 9월 31일까지였고, 자기관리 훈련은 2인의 작업치료사에 의해 회당 30분씩 주 4회 제공되었다. 자기관리 훈련은 먹기, 꾸미기, 목욕하기, 화장실 사용하기의 4개 영역으로 구성하였다. 훈련 후 경직성 뇌성마비 아동의 기능적 독립성 변화는 Wee-FIM(Functional Independence Measure for Children)을 이용하여 측정하였다. 연구결과 자기관리 훈련 후 뇌성마비 아동의 기능적 독립성은 유의한 향상을 보였다. 위의 결과에 근거하여 자기관리 훈련을 경직성 뇌성마비 아동의 기능적 독립성 향상을 위해 효과적인 방법으로서 충분히 활용 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

어린이집 일과유형에 따른 보육실 흥미영역구성 특성 (The Characteristics of Spatial Configuration of Activity Areas in Classrooms According to the Types of Daily Routine in Child-Care Centers in South Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the characteristics between the type of daily routine and spatial configuration of activity areas in classroom and provide alternatives for space planning of activity areas in classroom of child-care centers. This study used the content analysis on daily activity plan and floor plans through field survey. Analysis on floor plans was conducted for 35 classrooms in 9 child-care centers which allowed field survey. The results of this study were as follows; There was no significant difference for classroom size according to the type of daily routine in 3 to 5-year-old classrooms. The average size of classrooms was $61.6m^2$ for care oriented type, $41.4m^2$ for indoor activity oriented type and $48.8m^2$ for group activity oriented type. There was no significant difference in composition of activity areas in classrooms according to the type of daily routine. In case of 0 to 2-year-old classrooms, they were composed of 6 activity areas including gross-motor, role play, block building, language, creative expression, exploration/manipulation. Activity area of the most low frequency was gross-motor area. In case of 3 to 5-year-old classrooms, most classrooms were composed of all the 7 activity areas including art, tone and rhythmic, block building, role play, language, math and science. Most accessible and central areas in 0 to 2-year-old classrooms were gross-motor and role play. Also, most separate areas were exploration/manipulation and block building. Most accessible and central areas in 3 to 5-year-old classroom were art and math. Also, most separate areas were tone and rhythmic and science.

뇌성마비아동의 실제생활에서의 기능에 관한 연구 (The Study of Function about Real Life in Children with Cerebral Palsy)

  • 본 연구는 뇌성마비아동의 신체적 기능과 기능적인 능력에 관한 기존의 연구에서 벗어나 아동의 사회적 능력, 의사소통 능력, 일상생활활동, 대근육활동 간의 상관관계를 연구하였다. 뇌성마비 진단을 받은 아동 43명을 대상으로 평가를 실시한 결과 사회적 기능, 일상생활활동, 의사소통능력, 대동작활동과의 상관관계에서 네영역 모두 유의미한 상관관계를 보였다. 특히 사회적 기능과 일상생활활동과 하부항목 간의 상관관계에서 높은 상관관계를 보였다. 또한 사회적 능력의 하부항목들과 의사소통능력과의 상관관계가 높은 반면 대근육활동과의 상관관계에서는 낮은 상관관계를 보였다. 이러한 연구결과는 재활영역에서 뇌성마비 아동들의 실제 생활에서의 문제에 초점을 맞추기 위해 기능의 사회적인 측면을 고려해야 함을 시사한다.

뇌성마비 아동의 대동작 수행평가(GMPM)와 아동용 균형척도(PBS) 사이의 상관성 연구 (The study on Correlation between Gross Motor Performance Measure and Pediatric Balance Scale in Children with Cerebral palsy)

  • Background : This study verified a correlation between gross motor performance measure (GMPM) and pediatric balance scale (PBS) for children, which are most widely used for assessment of children with cerebral palsy. Methods : The study subjects are 20 children aged between five and 13 who were diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Their mean age was $8.15{\pm}2.96years$ and consists of 15 males and 5 females. The subjects were divided into three groups according to muscle tone and motility disorders and then GMPM and PBS were assessed. In the assessment items in the GMPM, alignment, coordination, dissociated movement, stability, and weight shift were measured. The PBS consists of sitting to standing, standing to sitting, moving between chairs, standing without using hands, standing with one foot, turning 360 degrees, turning to look behind, retrieving object from floor, and reaching forward with outstretched arm while standing. A correlation of the collected data was analyzed using SPSS 18.0 for windows. Results : From Significant correlations were shown between items of GMPM and PBS as well as total scores of GMPM and PBS. Among them, coordination and weight transfer in the GMPM items had a high correlation with the PBS. In addition, the higher the GMPM total score was, the higher the PBS score was. Conclusion : This study result showed a significant correlation between GMPM and PBS, and this relation can be used to pediatric physical examination.
