Quantitative Estimation of Surface Roughness Affecting the Fatigue Limit (피로한도(疲勞限度)에 영향을 미치는 표면(表面)거칠기의 정량적 평가)

  • Fatigue tests were performed to investigate how much vary the fatigue limit under the different surface conditions on Carbon Steel(SM55C). Four types of specimen which have different surface roughness each other, Series A by turning, Series B by grinding, Series C by polishing and Series D by roller finishing showed the fatigue limit of 265, 320, 335 and 365MPa, respectively. Series D show 36% higher than Series A, which is caused by compressive residential stress on the surface. Therefore, roller finishing machining is helpful not only increase the fatigue limit but also improve the surface roughness. Moreover, to predict the fatigue limit under the conditions of knowing surface roughness and hardness of specimen, ${\sqrt{area}}$ area parameter method is very useful.

  • The surface rolling method which is one of the plastic deformation processes increases the surface roughness with reduction of diameter and hardness. In this study, three NACHI 6000 ZZ bearing were used for surface rolling tool on a mild steel The following results have been obtained with the mild steel. 1) The load is major factor in getting fine surface roughness of roller finishing after grinding The optimal surface roughness of SS41 steel can be obtained at the contact pressure of 210 kgf/cm$^{2}$. 2) At the contact pressure range of 200kgf/cm$^{2}$-210kgf/cm$^{2}$ for optimal surface roughness, The surface hardness increased to Hv200-Hv240 from Hv 125 before surface rolling. 3) Within the diameter variation of 13 .mu.m the surface roughness and the surface hardness were increased, but out of variation of 14.mu.m. The surface roughness become worse and the surface hardness was increased.

  • In this study, we carried out the each lines of section, using GC (green silicon carbide) whetstone, the SCM415 material which separated by after and before heat treatments process, in 3+2 axis machining centers for integrated grinding after cutting end mill works, the spindle speed 8000 rpm and feed rate 150 mm/min. For the analysis of the centerline average roughness (Ra), we measured by 10 steps stages. Using Finite element analysis, we found the result of the load analysis effect of the assembly parts, when applied the 11 kg's load on both side of the ATC (Automatic tool change) arm. The result is as follows. For the centerline average roughness (Ra) in the non-heat treatment work pieces, are appeared the most favorable in the tenth section are $0.510{\mu}m$, that were shown in the near the straight line section which is the smallest deformation of curve. In addition, the bad surface roughness appears on the path is to long by changing angle, the more inclined depth of cut, because the chip discharging is not smoothly.

Processing Effects of Feeds in Swine - Review -

  • Processing is generally employed to alter the physical and chemical properties of feeds used in pig diets, using hammer/roller mills, pellet mills and extruders/expanders. The reported optimum particle sizes of corn are approximately $500{\mu}m$, $500-700{\mu}m$, $400-600{\mu}m$, for nursery, growing-finishing, and breeder pigs respectively. Optimum particle size of grains are affected by diet complexity. There was a trend towards reducing particle size in order to increase ADG in pigs fed a simple diet, though such was not the case for pigs fed a complex diet. Uniformity of particle size also affects the nutritional values of swine feeds. Uniform particle sizes would consistently give greater nutrient digestibilities. In terms of pellet quality, it is reported that a higher incidence of fmes in pelleted feeds has a direct correlation with poorer feed conversion ratio in pigs. Particle and pellet sizes are also very important for pelleting in terms of grinding, digestibility, stomach ulceration and pellet durability. A particle size of $600{\mu}m$, or slightly less, seemed optimal for com in fmishing pigs, and the 5/32 in. diameter pellets supported the best efficiencies of gain during nursery and finishing phases. Extruder and/or expander processes would allow the feed industry an increased flexibility to utilize a wider spectrum of feed ingredients, and improve pellet quality of finished feeds. It would appear that extruded or expanded diets containing highly digestible ingredients have little effect on the growth performance of pigs, and the feeding values of the feeds over pelleted diets were not improved as pigs grew. The extruder or expander is much more effective than a pelletizer in salmonella control. Gastric ulcerations and/or keratinizations were consistently reported in pigs fed mash and processed diets containing finely ground grains, whereas carcass quality was not affected by diet processing methods such as pelleting, extruding or expanding. In corn- or sorghum-based diets, the electrical energy consumption is 4-5 times higher in the expanding than in the pelleting process. But the expander's processing cost was half of that shown by an extruder. Finally, the decision of which feed processing technology to adopt would depend on the processing cost, and any potential improvement in growth performance and digestibilities of nutrients should offset the increased operating and capital costs related to the extruder/expander technology over mash or pelleting processes in pigs.

  • Normal sintering process of producing porous ceramics is not to sinter perfectly, i.e., stop sintering in middle-process. Our porous ceramic materials are a product of complete sintering. For example if one want to make a porous carborundum, raw carborundum powder is sintered at either lower temperatures than normal sintering temperature or shorter sintering periods than normal sintering time to obtain incompletely sintered materials, i.e., porous carborundum. This implies normally sintered porous ceramic materials can mot be used in high vacuum conditions due to dust coming out from uncompleted sintering. We could produce completely sintered porous ceramic materials. For example, we can produce porous carborundum material by using carborundum particles bonded by glassy material. The properties of this material are similar to carborundum. We could make quasi-zero thermal expansion porous material by using carborundum and particles of negative thermal expansion materials bonded by the glassy material. We apply to sinter them also by microwave to sinter quickly. We also use HIP process to introduce closed pores. We could sinter them in large size to produce $2.5m{\times}2.5m$ ceramic plate to use as a precision plate for flat display industries. This flat ceramic plate is the world largest artificial ceramic plate. Precision plates are basic importance to any advanced electronic industries. The produced precision plate has lower density, lower thermal expansivity, higher or similar damping properties added extra properties such as vacuum vise, air sliding capacity. These plates are highly recommended to use in flat display industries. We could produce also cylindrical porous ceramics materials, which can applied to precision roller for polymer film precision motion for also electronic industries.

  • Wheat (Triticum spp.) is an important source of food worldwide and the focus of considerable efforts to identify new combinations of genetic diversity for crop improvement. In particular, wheat starch composition is a major target for changes that could benefit human health. Starches with increased levels of amylose are of interest because of the correlation between high amylose content and elevated levels of resistant starch, which has been shown to have beneficial effects on health for combating obesity and diabetes. In this study, high amylose wheat germplasms from other countries were collected and cultivated in Korea, and then the content of amylose was evaluated, we examined amylose content in 614 wheat germplasm. Furthermore, amylose content was validated using several milling processes such as roller, hammer, and grinding mill. As a result, the amylose content distribution was divided into five groups. The range of the amylose levels in whole wheat flour was 18.3% to 29.6%. In addition, the mutant lines were screened for high amylose, and two mutant lines (WX-1046 and WX-1074) exhibited a comparable amylose content to Keumkang whole wheat (19.6%). It has been established that high amylose indicated SS IIa null and necessitate GBSS. Based on these findings, it may be helpful to develop high amylose wheat germplasm and production techniques, particularly in Korea.

Improvement of Grinding Efficiency in Red-Pepper Milling Using Ceramic Roller mill (고추 분쇄용 세라믹 롤 분쇄기의 분쇄효율 향상)

  • 본 연구는 고추분쇄용 세라믹 롤 분쇄기를 이용하여 고춧가루 생산시, 분쇄효율을 향상시키고자 기존의 롤 분쇄속도 40rpm(0.352m/s)에서 80rpm(0.704%)으로 증가시키고, 기존의 롤 회전비 2:1에서 5:1로 증가시켜 고추분쇄시 전단력 증가로 분쇄능을 향상시켰고, 연구 내용의 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 세라믹치형롤 분쇄속도 40rpm(0.352m/s)에서는 롤 회전비 2:1에서 1,190$\mu\textrm{m}$ 입자가 32.7%, 590$\mu\textrm{m}$ 입자가 19.7%였고, 롤 회전비를 5:1로 증가시 590$\mu\textrm{m}$ 입자가 30.9%, 420$\mu\textrm{m}$ 입자가 17.2%로 중간 미분쇄 영역의 분포가 증가하여 미분쇄 효율이 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 2. 분쇄물의 롤 통과횟수에 따른 분쇄능은 세라믹치형롤 모두 분쇄속도 80rpm(0.704m/s)에서 분쇄물의 미분쇄능이 향상되었고, 분쇄생성물의 임계처리 횟수가 3~4차임을 분석할 수 있었다. 3. 보통 고춧가루를 생산하는데 분쇄속도 40rpm(0.352m/s), 80rpm(0.704m/s), 두 롤의 회전비 2:1, 3:1, 4:1하에서는 생산되지 않았으나, 롤 회전비 5:1에서는 분쇄속도 40rpm(0.352m/s)일 경우 7차 분쇄후에, 분쇄속도 80rpm(0.704m/s)일 경우 5차분쇄후에 생성되어 분쇄처리횟수가 2회정도 단축되어 전단력 증가로 인하여 분쇄능이 향상된 것으로 분석되었다. 4. 기존의 고춧가루 분쇄조건인 분쇄속도 40rpm(0.352m/s), 롤 회전비 2:1보다 본 연구에서 개발한 분쇄속도 80rpm(0.704m/s), 롤 회전비 5:1인 분쇄조건이, 분쇄처리 횟수 단축 등이 분석됨으로서 섬유질이 많이 포함된 고춧가루 등의 재료가공 분쇄기술이 향상된 것으로 분석되었다.. 마늘재배 일관기계화에 의한 노동투하시간과 비용 -종자준비부터 통마늘선별까지의 일관기계화로 투입된 주요작업의 노력은 75∼76%가 절감되고, 재배규모 3ha기준시 비용은 44-53%절감되었음. the annealing texture.
