Development of Mg-xFe2O3-yNi Hydrogen-Storage Alloys by Reactive Mechanical Grinding

  • Mg-x wt% $Fe_2O_3-y$ wt% Ni samples were prepared by reactive mechanical grinding in a planetary ball mill, and their hydrogen-storage properties were investigated and compared. Activations of $Mg-5Fe_2O_3-5Ni$ was completed after one hydriding (under 12 bar $H_2$) - dehydriding (in vacuum) cycle at 593 K. At n = 2, $Mg-5Fe_2O_3-5Ni$ absorbed 3.43 wt% H for 5 min, 3.57 wt% H for 10 min, 3.76 wt% H for 20 min, and 3.98 wt% H for 60 min. Activated $Mg-10Fe_2O_3$ had the highest hydriding rate, absorbing 2.99 wt% H for 2.5 min, 4.86 wt% H for 10 min, and 5.54 wt% H for 60 min at 593 K under 12 bar $H_2$. Activated $Mg-10Fe_2O_3-5Ni$ had the highest dehydriding rate, desorbing 1.31 wt% H for 10 min, 2.91 wt% H for 30 min, and 3.83 wt% H for 60 min at 593 K under 1.0 bar $H_2$.

선박건조업에서 사용되는 그라인더의 진동평가와 수지진동증후군 예측 모델 개발 (Assessment of Vibration Produced by the Grinder Used in the Shipbuilding Industry and Development of Prospective Prevalence Model of Hand-arm Vibration Syndrome)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the acceleration of vibration by the powered hand tools used in the shipbuilding industry, and to develop the prospective prevalence model for the hand-arm vibration syndrome among the shipbuilding workers.The acceleration levels and frequencies of six types of grinder were measured using the ISO5349 method along with the time of exposure to the vibration from the powered hand tools. Medical examination for 114 workers were performed using the cold provocation test. Comparisons were made between the estimated prevalence of hand-arm vibration syndrome from ISO5349 and the observed values from the medical examinations. By multiple regression, we developed the prospective prevalence model of hand-arm vibration syndrome produced by the hand tools used in the shipbuilding industry. 4 hour-energy-equivalent frequency-weighted accelerations were $6.23m/s^2$ in the grinding job done after welding, and $13.39m/s^2$ in the grinding job done before painting. The mean exposure time while holding powered hand tools was 4.64 hours. Prevalence rates of Raynaud's Phenomenon were 12.04% in the grinding after soldering, and 42.9% in the grinding before painting measured using the ISO5349 method. After exposure to vibration for 10.79 years, about a half of the workers in the grinding after welding could developed Raynaud's Phenomenon. For the workers in the grinding before painting, the latency was 5.02 years. The ISO equation for dose response relationship was not significantly correlated with observed recovery rates of finger skin temperatures, blood flows and amplitudes of nerve conduction velocities. A multiple regression model for dose-response relationship was proposed from the results. Recovery rate of the skin temperatures = -0.668+ 0.337 ${\times}$ 4 hour energy equivalent frequency-weighted accelerations + 0.767 ${\times}$ duration of vibration exposure(years) The validity was proved by multiple regression analysis after correlation transformation and regression results based on model-building data and validation data.

초미세 분쇄한 삼백초(Saururus chinensis) 추출물의 항산화, angiotensinconverting enzyme 및 xanthin oxidase 억제 활성 (Antioxidant, angiotensinconverting enzyme and xanthin oxidase inhibitory activity of extracts from Saururus chinensis leaves by ultrafine grinding)

  • 초미세 분쇄를 하였을 때 입자가 작아질수록 추출수율이 높아져 약 2.5배 높은 추출수율을 나타내었다. 일반 분쇄한 시료 추출물에서 69.8%의 전자공여능 억제효과가 관찰되었고, 미세분쇄와 초미세분쇄 추출물에서는 각각 70.7과 83.8%의 억제효과를 나타내었다. 일반분쇄 추출물과 미세분쇄 및 초미세분쇄 후 추출물 모두 97% 이상의 높은 ABTS 억제효과를 나타내어 분쇄 방법에 따른 항산화력의 차이는 거의 없었다. 일반 분쇄한 시료 추출물 보다 미세분쇄와 초미세분쇄 추출물에서 더 높은 PF값을 확인하였으며, 50% ethanol 초미세분쇄 추출물에서 1.8 PF로 가장 높은 항산화력을 나타내었다. 미세분쇄와 초미세분쇄 추출물에서는 일반분쇄 추출물에 비해 입자크기가 작아질수록 TBARS 억제율이 높아지며, 물 추출물보다 ethanol 추출물의 효과가 더 우수한 것으로 확인되었다. Xanthin oxidase 저해의 경우 초미세분쇄 후 효소억제 증대 효과를 확인할 수 있었다. Angiotensin converting enzyme 억제활성은 일반분쇄 추출의 경우 물 추출물에서는 억제활성이 나타나지 않았고, 50% ethanol 추출물에서 24%의 억제율이 확인되었다. 또한, ethanol 추출물의 억제효과가 물 추출물에 비해 상대적으로 우수하였다. 50% ethanol 초미세분쇄 추출물에서 Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli에 대해서 아주 약한 항균효과를 나타내었을 뿐 나머지 추출물에서의 항균효과는 거의 관찰되지 않았다.

  • Particulate matter exposure leva1 of welders and grinding workers was evaluated in Banwol and Changwon industry complexes. Full period single sample and full period consecutive samples were collected with personal air samplers attached to workers. Compliance difference with 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) was compared by Korean strategy and the classification system recommended by OHSA for employee exposure to particulates. And difference of compliance was compared according to precision of measurement and analysis (total precision). Compliance rate was depended on the total precision, therefore, quality control of measurement and analysis was important.

  • Hard facing overlay welding in high chromium carbide is a representative way of extending the fatigue life or recompensing damage, because workpiece surface is uniformly overlay-welded by alloy material. In general, grinding process is currently used for finish due to hardness of weld material. The development of tool material, such as PCBN, has made it possible to use turning instead of grinding. There are many advantages of hard Owning, as lower equipment costs, shorter setup time, fewer process steps, higher material removal rate, better surface integrity and the elimination of cutting fluid. In this paper, machining characteristics and cutting performance are examined to investigate turning possibility of overly welding in high chromium carbide.

  • The purpose of this work is to establish the basic calibration data for the efficiency of grinding by investigating the Bond's Work Index employing Korean Kaolin as a reference mateial with the laboratory-scale ball mill. A small ordinary ball mill has a dimension of 133 inside diameter and 144mm long. The analysis of the experimental results in this work sets up a equivalent calibration method with the laboratory-scale ball mill to those with special mill. The theoretical expression, derived from the rate equation proposed by Miwa, is obtained to anticipitate the stable revolution number for the next grinding cycle. The proposed equation is more systematic and acurate than lshihara's empirical equation is more systematic and acurate than lshihara's empirical equation for the measurement of gindability of a ball mill.

절삭가공이 알루미늄 경질 아노다이징 피막에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Machining on Hard Anodizing Surface of Aluminum)

  • The Al3003 aluminum plate was cut by grinding, milling, sawing, and shearing, and the hard-anodizing surface of the material was investigated. Large burrs were formed during grinding and milling. The brittle anodized film split and migrated along the deformed aluminum surface. During shearing, the hard-anodized film on the blade entry surface cracks and slides along the deforming aluminum. The cutting heat increased the ductility of the aluminum and further promoted burr formation. The oil-based coolant suppressed burrs and prevented chips from sticking to the endmill. It is better to avoid the high cutting speed and slow material feed rate conditions, which increase the cutting temperature and burr in the band saw.

유연성 디스크 정밀연삭 가공중 평면가공에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Flat Surface Generation Using Flexible Disk Grinding)

  • In this study, a flexible disk grinding process is applied in order to produce high precision product. A new model was developed considering feed motion along horizontal and vertical direction. Different types of feed speed variation was tested with respect to distinct process stages in order to achieve flat surface. It was observed that highest order polynomial form for both horizontal and vertical feed speed variation among the proposed categories produced surface close to flat one. Disk deflection trend during the process was visualized confirming the proposed scheme. Cutting force and VRR(volume removal rate) was observed as an aid to process planning.

  • Injection rate shape control is one feature of a diesel fuel injection system that is strongly desired at this time. In the conventional common rail system, it is difficult to control the injection rate since the fuel pressure is constant during the injection period, resulting in a nearly rectangular rate shape. In order to look into possible injection modulations, injectors equipped with standard and geometrically modified control valves were investigated in detail by means of computer modelling and simulation. Experiments were carried out to validate the feasibility of such a shaping. The results of this study show a noteworthy dependence of the fuel rate on geometrical modifications in the piloting stage of the injector.

반응 조건에 따른 규산마그네슘의 입도 변화 및 폴리올 정제 능력평가 (Change of Particle Size of Magnesium Silicate According to Reaction Conditions and Evaluation of Its Polyol Purification Ability)

  • 염기성 폴리올 및 식용유 정제에 사용하는 합성 규산마그네슘의 효율성은 정제능력과 여과속도를 통해 평가되며, 규산마그네슘의 입도 및 표면적에 따라 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 합성변수인 반응온도, 주입속도, 주입순서(Si, Mg), Mg/Si의 반응몰비가 규산마그네슘의 입도에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 합성된 규산마그네슘은 합성공정, 분쇄공정, 정제공정으로 비교 분석되었다. 합성공정에서 반응 온도와 주입 속도는 규산마그네슘의 평균입도 변화에 영향을 주지않는 반면, Mg/Si의 반응몰비와 주입 순서는 평균입도 변화에 주된 요인으로 작용하였다. 합성 후 규산마그네슘의 평균입도는 반응몰비가 0.125에서 0.500로 증가할 때 Mg 주입 시 약 54.4 ㎛에서 63.1 ㎛로 약 8.7 ㎛ 증가하였고, Si 주입 시 47.3 ㎛에서 52.1 ㎛로 약 4.8 ㎛ 증가하였다. 주입 순서 별 평균입도를 비교해보면 Mg 주입 시 59.1 ㎛, Si 주입 시 48.4 ㎛로 약 10.7 ㎛의 평균입도 차이를 보였으며 Mg을 주입하는 조건에서 약 2배 빠른 수세여과속도가 관찰되었다. 즉, 입도가 증가함에 따라 여과 시간이 단축되고 수세여과속도 증가로 생산성 향상에 기여할 수 있었다. 여과 후 분리된 cake형태의 규산마그네슘은 건조과정을 통해 단단한 고형체가 되고 분쇄공정을 통해 분말형태의 흡착제로 사용된다. 건조된 규산마그네슘의 물리적 강도가 감소함에 따라 분말의 평균입도가 감소하고, 이 강도는 반응몰비에 영향을 받는 것을 확인하였다. Mg주입 시 Mg/Si의 반응몰비가 증가함에 따라 규산마그네슘의 물리적 강도가 감소하여 분쇄 후 평균입도가 합성 후 평균입도에 비해 약 40% 감소하는 것을 관찰하였다. 이러한 강도감소는 평균입도 감소와 분쇄 후 미분량의 증가로 정제능력의 향상을 가져왔지만 정제여과속도 감소를 가져왔다. Mg 주입 시 반응몰비가 0.125에서 0.5로 증가할 동안 정제능력은 약 1.3 배가 증가하였으나 정제여과속도는 약 1.5 배가 감소하였다. 따라서 규산마그네슘의 생산성 향상을 위해서는 Mg/Si의 반응몰비를 증가시켜야 하지만, 폴리올의 정제여과속도를 증가시키기 위해선 반응몰비를 감소시켜야 한다. 규산마그네슘의 합성변수 중 주입순서와 Mg/Si의 반응몰비는 합성 후 평균입도와 분쇄 후 평균입도 및 미분량 변화에 영향을 주는 주요인자로 생산성 및 정제능력을 결정짓는 중요한 합성변수이다.
