OrthoMTA 컴팩터의 크리프피드 CBN 연삭을 위한 드레싱 조건 연구 (Study on Dressing Conditions for Creep-feed in Cubic Boron Nitride Grinding of OrthoMTA Compacters)

  • An OrthoMTA compacter is made by machining a Ni-Ti alloy wire using tapered helix creep-feed grinding machines. This aim of this study is to find the optimal dressing conditions to sharpen the corner of a cubic boron nitride (CBN) wheel. On the basis of the results of various experiments, it is verified that the most important factors in dressing are the dressing depth and feeding method, whereas the feed rate has less importance for producing a smaller corner R value. The study also finds the optimum dressing depth to reduce the dressing time, a feeding speed and method to stabilize the machining, and the mesh grade for the CBN wheel to make the groove of the compacter deeper.

  • The importance of maintenance of rail surface defects is increasing more according to the KTX operation. That is because during high speed operation of rolling stock, rail surface defects may cause shortened fatigue life of rail, acceleration of track degradation and reduced ride comfort. The paper was intended to study the establishment of rail grinding criteria of high-speed railway lines considering the KTX operation circumstances. For this, the specimens of UIC 60 rail on Kyeong-Bu high-speed operation lines were collected and they were analyzed for metallographic structure and tested for the hardness. By analyzing the test results to the factors affecting the RCF causing the defects of rail surface, the study suggested the rail grinding criteria of the domestic high speed railway lines. As the factors affecting RCF, passing tonnage, running speed and track condition are considered.

  • This study has been focused on properties of mirror surface grinding technology by ELID(Electrolytic In-process Dressing) for structural ceramics using in high precision structural parts as like semi-conductor manufacturing processes. The experimental studies have been carried out to get mirror surface for grinding of structural ceramics, SiC, $Al_2O_3$ and AlN. Grinding process of the ceramics is carried out with varying mesh type, depth of cut and feed rate using diamond wheel. The machining result of the surface roughness and condition of ground surface, have been analyzed by use of surface roughness tester, SEM, AFM and three dimensional surface profiler measurement system.

  • A flexible disk grinding system process has been introduced that utilized varying disk orientation with respect to workpiece along with the applied feed speed. Various process conditions including cutting speed, maximum feed speed and orientation angles could applied to observe process outcomes. Even though continuous and constant feed speed has been applied to the process, the results from the trapezoidal input velocity profiles would be observed and compared. Based on the control strategies including neural network methodologies, several output results were compared to find the optimum process condition. Two axis control results were displayed showing better performance with higher trajectory error for larger training epoch.

  • The form accuracy of parts has become an important parameter. Therefore dimensional tolerance and geometric tolerance are used in design to satisfy required quility and functions of parts. But the informations for machining conditions, which can satisfy the assigned geometric tolerance in design, are insufficient. The objectives of this research are to study the effects of the grinding parameters such as traverse speed, work speed, depth of cut, and dwell time on the after-ground workpiece shape, and to find out the major parameters among these parameters. Finally, a methodology is proposed for getting the optimal grinding condition for precision workpiece The results are as follows; The effects of work speed and depth of cut on workpiece shape are ignorable compared to the effect of traverse speed. These is the optimal dwell time depending on the traverse speed. The optimal dwell time is decreasing when the traverse speed is increased.

신경망을 이용한 유연디스크 디버링가공 아크형상구간 인자예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Flexible Disk Deburring Process Arc Zone Parameter Prediction Using Neural Network)

  • Disk grinding was often applied to deburring process in order to enhance the final product quality. Inherent chamfering capability of the flexible disk grinding process in the early stage was analyzed with respect to various process parameters including workpiece length, wheel speed, depth of cut and feed. Initial chamfered edge defined as arc zone was characterized with local radius of curvature. Averaged radius and arc zone ratio was well evaluated using neural network system. Additional neural network analysis adding workpiece length showed enhance performance in predicting arc zone ratio and curvature radius with reduced error rate. A process condition design parameter was estimated using remaining input and output parameters with the prediction error rate lower than 2.0% depending on the relevant input parameter combination and neural network structure composition.

  • Crack of breaking toughness of most Ceramics material is 1-5MPa .root.m but that of Zirconia Ceramics is improved to be 6-8MPa .root.m and its development of machining difficult-to-machine material is on the rise as urgent subject. For general Zirconia Ceramics machining, diamond grinding wheel is generally used by selecting an appropriate one and establishing grinding condition but due to such limitations as economics, grinding efficiency and machining geometry, great interest in machining method being used for diamond tool is emphasized. But it is reported that diamond tool is oxidized by cutting heat in the air and is graphitized in vacuum, which causes bad effects on tool life. In this study, to restraint cutting heat the internal side of tool is cooled, and restraint low temperature cooling system and being experimented. Further, the machinability of diamond tool for Zirconia Ceramics machining is analyzed with respect to tool wear and stress.

초정밀 가공시스템의 염마 가공 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on the Finishing Characteristics of Ultra-precision System)

  • In this study, Ultra-precision finishing system using micro abrasive film experimented using experimental variable film feed speed and grinding speed and structural steel(SM45C) with respect to 12~3{\mu}m$ micro abrasive film. the result are follows; (1) Experimental condition must setup dissimilar about each micro abrasive film. (2) To measurement deviation the smallest machined condition are 20mm/min in 12{\mu}m$, 5mm/min and 15mm/min in 9{\mu}m$ and 5{\mu}m$, 5mm/min in 3{\mu}m$ in film feed speed. (3) To measurement deviation the smallest machined condition are 180m/min in 12{\mu}m$, 84m/min in 9{\mu}m$, 56 and 84m/min in 5{\mu}m$, 104m/min in 3{\mu}m$ in grinding speed.

  • In this study, it is experimented to find factors effecting surface roughness using the system of experiments. in the mirror surface finishing system. (1) The film feed and oscillation frequency in $40{\mu}m$ abrasive film, grinding speed in $30{\mu}m$, and machining time in $15{\mu}m$15 are the main factors effecting the surface roughness. (2) Applying the optimal finishing condition to $40{\mu}m$, $30{\mu}m$, $15{\mu}m$ abrasive finishing film in sequence, it is possible to obtian about Ra 10 nm surface roughness on SM45C workpiece. (3) Application of the system of experments to the micro abrasive grain film finishing was very effective method in the extraction of main factor and optimal condition.

  • Rail is one of major track components for train service, it should be provided in the condition of flat and smooth driving aspect. Therefore, it is inevitable that there would be the field welding to integrate on CWR(Continuous Welded Rail) removing rail joint in these days. It is high chance to be some rail surface irregularity due to the limitation on the status of work condition If a high speed train runs on the rail surface irregularity in the welding part, big impact load comes to pass on that, so track irregularity cycle is reduced, therefore track maintenance cost can be increased. this paper has analyzed wheel load variation according to removing the rail surface irregularity using portable grinding machine in the high speed line. The result measured before and after in the field is decreased about 9.26% on the wheel load variation.
