On-Grid Hybrid PCS Control considering the Momentary Voltage Sag (순간전압강하를 고려한 계통연계형 하이브리드 PCS 제어)

  • The on-grid distributed power system operated antiislanding due to the momently voltage sag of the power system, fault and etc. According to the 'Dispersed Generations in Distribution Systems Connection Technology Standard', the utilizable time ratio of PCS is low because of being put into in the steady state of the power system after 5 minutes. In this paper, the output characteristic is optimized with the hybrid system consisting of the wind system and PV system. And energy of hybrid system is supplied to the power system. Also, DVR function was applied to PCS to compensate the voltage sag frequently happening for a power system. The control performance of the proposed hybrid PCS is analyzed and simulated using PSIM to validate the system performace.

  • The purpose of smart grid is the low $CO_2$ through expansion of renewable energy. To achieve the purpose of smart grid, typical radial power distribution system will be changed to loop power distribution system. The loop power distribution system have many advantages such as low power loss, low voltage drop, and increase of connection of renewable energy. In this paper, the algorithm for minimization of interrupted section of power distribution system is proposed through communication between circuit breaker and recloser in loop power distribution system. The proposed algorithm is proved through case studies about reliability evaluation

Operating Characteristic Analysis of the Induction Generator by the Reactor Starting (리액터 기동 유도발전기의 동작 특성 해석)

  • In general, the voltage stability of induction generator is lower than synchronous generator. However, induction generator has many advantages rather than a synchronous generator in terms of price and maintenance. So Induction generator is used little by little in small hydroelectric power station rather than 1000kW recently. Squirrel cage induction generator generates a high inrush current at the grid-connection. This high inrush current causes a voltage drop on the grid. In order to increase the penetration of the induction generator, it is necessary to present a method of reducing inrush current. In this study, we suggested that it is possible to present a reactor startup method, by applying the parameter to reduce the voltage drop.

  • 본 논문에서는 태양광발전이 본격적으로 보급 활성화 되기 전인 1999년 4월에 50 kVA 계통연계형 태양광 발전시스템 개발과제로 구축된 50kWp급 중규모의 계통연계 태양광 발전시스템의 약 10년간의 장기 실증운전을 통하여 취득한 자료를 기반으로 장기운전에 따른 운전특성 변화를 분석하였다. 본 설비는 50kVA급 PCS, 3kVA급 PCS 및 모듈 50kWp의 용량으로 1999년도에 한전 전력연구원 구내에서 실증시험용으로 구축되었으며, 장기운전에 따른 출력감소율은 10년간 전년도 대비 연 2.73% 이며, 발전설비 이용율은 11.04% 로 분석되었다

  • The induction generator has many advantages compared to the synchronous generator in terms of cost and maintenance. So squirrel cage induction generator has been recently supplied in small hydroelectric power station. Squirrel cage induction generator generates a high inrush current at the grid-connection. This high inrush current causes a voltage drop on the grid. In order to increase the supply of the induction generator, it is very important to find the method of reducing inrush current and voltage drop.

  • This paper presents a 3kW grid-connection photovoltaic power generation system and its topology. Photovoltaic system must provide the sinusoidal output voltage wave for unity power factor High frequency switching converters are becoming more popular because of several benefits which are essential in power conversion system. This paper introduces a high speed digital controller using TMS320F2812 DSP chip which can be used for high frequency switching converters. The experimental results of the proposed PWM Inverter demonstrates its high performance with unity input power factor having very low distorsion in input current waveforms and good dynamic characteristics at full load.

Parallel PCS Interconnection Current Surge Elimination Technique Using a Coupled Inductor

  • This study proposes a coupled inductor method for the parallel operation of a power conditioning system (PCS). When primary and secondary currents flow in the same direction in a coupled inductor, total flux and inductance are cancelled; when currents flow in opposite directions, each flux becomes an individual inductor. These characteristics are applied in the parallel operation of a PCS. To connect at a grid code, abnormal current, which is barred under the grid connection code, is blocked by using a coupled inductor. A design based on the capacity and current duration time of a PCS is verified through hardware implementation. Experiment results show the effectiveness of variance reduction.

  • Recently, the development of renewable energy using solar energy is drawing attention. One of these PV systems, the Dual buck Inverter, is one of the topologies used in conjunction with the system, characterized by high efficiency and shoot-through reduction. However, current distortion appears severely in grid connection. So, in this paper, the method of compensation through PR controller was verified through simulation as an analysis of current distortion components and a control method to improve them.

  • This paper suggests a 6-pulse-shift converter with PWM current-source inverter based on buck-boost configuration to improve the efficiency and to reduce the switching frequency of inverter for photovoltaic generation system, the device can be operated as interface system between solar module system and power system grid without energy storage cell. the circuit has six current-source buck-boost converter which operate chopper part has one full bridge inverter which make a decision the polarity of AC output. Therefore, the proposed PWM power inverter has advantages such as the reduction of witching loss and realization of unity power factor operation. the theoretical backgrounds are discussed and the input-output characteristics for the implemented prototype inverter using TMS320F2812 are verified experimentally in this paper.

  • In this paper, doubly-fed induction-type wind power generation system simulation model for grid connection is developed. The simulation model is based on PSCAD/EMTDC and consists of rotor-blade, generator, power converter and controller. Simulation results are shown for the variable wind speed conditions. The simulation model can be utilized for study of actual interaction between wind turbine and grid for reliable operation and protection of power system.
