  • Recently, automotive companies have invested in vehicle weight reduction and clean car development because of oil price rises and environmental problems. In particular, USA car makers have developed the vehicle spending 1 liter per 34km complying with PNGV(Partnership for a new generation of vehicle) and Europe car makers have developed the vehicle spending 3 liters per 100km. The USA government announced "The green car policy" in order to boost production of more fuel effective cars in 2009. According to the policy, it will be restricted to sell the car which spends more than 1 liter per 14.9km by 2020. To satisfy the current situations on automotive market, hydroforming technology has widely adapted vehicle structures such as engine cradle, chassis frame, A pillar, radiator support, etc. However, automotive companies have to consider formability and performance to improve and maximize the benefit from this technology in advance of detail design. The paper deals with one of the vehicle weight reduction methods using tube hydroforming technology and platform commonality in front suspension. FEA simulation is also introduced to evaluate hydro-formability and NVH performance at the beginning of design stage which is the best way to reduce the failure cost.

중앙제어방식 긴급자동차 우선신호 현장적용성 분석 (Field Application Analysis of Center Control Emergency Vehicle Preemption System)

  • 본 연구에서는 중앙제어방식 긴급자동차 우선신호를 강북소방서 주변 1.782km 구간에 시험하고 그 효과를 분석하였다. 기존 연구를 검토하여 중앙제어방식과 현장제어방식에 대한 장단점을 비교하였고, 소방서 주변 도로 중 평균 통행속도가 높은 상위 지역 중 왕복 4차로에서 6차로에 해당되는 지역을 시험 대상 지역으로 선정하였다. 우선신호는 긴급자동차 속도로 교차로 도착 예정 시각을 산정, 녹색 신호를 연장하는 방식을 적용하였다. 우선신호 적용 효과는 긴급 자동차 GPS 궤적을 분석하여 속도와 이동시간으로 분석하였고, 주변 교통흐름에 미치는 영향은 긴급자동차 주행방향과 다른 방향의 대기행렬 길이조사를 통해 분석하였다. 시범사업 결과 긴급차량의 평균 통행시간이 41.81% 감소하였고 혼잡한 몇 개의 교차로를 제외한 대부분의 교차로에서의 지체 증가는 매우 적었다. 향후 Early Green과 전이과정에서 우선신호에 대한 보상방법에 대한 연구를 한다면 긴급자동차 우선신호 적용지역을 확대할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

부유기 OWC 챔버의 파중 운동해석 (A Study on the Floating OWC Chamber Motion in Waves)

  • The motion of a floating OWC chamber in waves is studied taking account of fluctuating air pressure in the air chamber. An atmospheric pressure drop occurs across the upper opening of the chamber which causes not only hydrodynamic but also pneumatic added mass and damping forces to the floating chamber. A velocity potential in the water due to the free surface oscillating pressure patch is added to the conventional radiation-diffraction potential problem. the potential problem inside the chamber is formulated by making use of the Green integral equation associated with the Rankine Green function wile the outer problem with the Kelvin Green function. The two integral equations are solved simultaneously by making use of a matching boundary condition at the lower opening of the chamber to the outer water region. The chamber motion in the frequency domain is calculated for various values of parameters related to the atmospheric pressure drop. The present methods can also be sued for the analysis of air-cushion vehicle motion as well as for the design of a floating OWC wave energy absorber.

자작형 하이브리드카의 제작 및 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on Manufacture and Control of a Self Manufacturing Hybrid Electric Vehicle)

  • In this paper, Hybrid Electric Vehicle is directly designed and manufactured for base study of HEV's system and Green Car. Foundation design consists of power train design and the frame design. The power train concept includes motor, engine, generator and battery. And the concept of the frame is the single-seat of this self-made HEV. A frame installed in hybrid system contains suspension, steering wheel, seat, accelerating pedal, brake pedal, clutch handle and various chassis parts with bearings. Electromagnetic clutch is equipped to transmit engine power to drive axle. The control algorism make using LabVIEW to control of an engine and a motor depending on drive condition. A parallel type hybrid system is manufactured to control operation of a motor and an engine depending on vehicle speed.

  • The purpose of present study is to analysis the Characteristics of fuel economy and Green house gases due to the driving mode conditions of The hybrid electric vehicle(HEV). HEVs are divided into mild and power types according to the their functions. mild type HEVs are inexpensive because they do not need to implement a pure electric mode. Power type HEVs are more expensive but has also better fuel efficiency. In the present paper, the test results for the gasoline vehicle using FTP-75 mode and HWFET are present.

  • Bimodal tram with the hybrid propulsion and low floor is a new and beneficial vehicle for the public transportation which is good for both the convenience of the weakness and the prevention of the green house effect. Bimodal tram consists of a complicate electrical and mechanical systems. Each system does not operate with independent but with cooperative. So, we need a synthetic control management system for managing all system effectively. This paper has investigated the configuration and functions of VCU(Vehicle Control Unit) installed inside of bimodal tram which plays variable roles including the apparatus control and the condition monitoring.

Robust Automatic Parking without Odometry using an Evolutionary Fuzzy Logic Controller

  • This paper develops a novel automatic parking algorithm based on a fuzzy logic controller with the vehicle pose for the input and the steering rate for the output. It localizes the vehicle by using only external sensors - a vision sensor and ultrasonic sensors. Then it automatically learns an optimal fuzzy if-then rule set from the training data, using an evolutionary fuzzy system. Furthermore, it also finds the green zone for the ready-to-reverse position in which parking is possible just by reversing. It has been tested on a 4-wheeled Pioneer mobile robot which emulates the real vehicle.

  • In the past, when there were few vehicles on the road, the T.O.D.(Time of Day) traffic signal worked very well. The T.O.D. signal operates on a preset signal cycling which cycles on the basis of the average number of average passenger cars in the memory device of an electric signal unit. Today, with increasing traffic and congested roads, the conventional traffic light creates startup-delay time and end lag time so that thirty to forty-five percent efficiency in traffic handling is lost, as well as adding to fuel costs. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new concept of optimal green time algorithm, which reduces average vehicle waiting time while improving average vehicle speed using fuzzy rules and neural networks. Through computer simulation, this method has been proven to be much more efficient than fixed time interval signals. Fuzzy Neural Network will consistanly improve average waiting time, vehicle speed, and fuel consumption.

  • 요즈음에는 GPS 및 GIS을 기반으로, 운전자에게 최단 경로탐색 및 예상도착시간을 인터넷 및 휴대폰으로 검색할 수 있다. 그러나, 아무리 좋은 자동항법 장치도 평균차량속도가 10-20 Km 일 때에는 최단경로를 생성할 수 없다. 그러므로 승용차대기시간과 평균차량속도를 개선하기 위해서, 서로 다른 교차로 길이 및 교차로 차선수 일때에도, 퍼지 적응 규칙을 이용한 최적녹색시간 알고리즘을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 인터넷을 이용해서 위험한 도로, 공사중인 도로 및 목적지 예상도착시간 및 최적의 교통상황을 예보하는 기능을 제공할 수 있도록 하였다.
