스팀 절감량 예측을 위한 흑액 다중 효용 증발 공정 모델 개발 (Development of Black Liquor Multiple-effect-evaporation Process Model to Predict Steam Savings)

  • 본 연구에서는 흑액 증발공정에 소비되는 스팀의 절감량을 예측하기 위해 증발기 수에 따른 다중 효용 증발공정 모델을 개발하였다. 개발한 공정 모델은 흑액의 예열 및 증발 과정으로 구성되어 있고, 스팀 사용량을 예측하기 위해 가상의 재비기가 추가되었다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 2중 효용 증발기에서 스팀 사용량은 48.9% 감소하였고, 증발기 수가 증가함에 따라 스팀 사용량이 감소하여 8중 효용 증발기에서 최대 76.5% 감소함을 확인하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 증발기 수에 따른 포화증기의 잠열 회수량, 스팀 사용량, 각 증발기의 포화증기 생산량으로 분석하여 최적의 증발기 수 도출을 위한 방안을 제시하였다.

Effect of Extraction Conditions of Green Tea on Antioxidant Activity and EGCG Content: Optimization using Response Surface Methodology

  • Green tea, the leaves of Camellia sinsneis (Theaceae), is generally acknowledged as the most consumed beverage with multiple pharmacological functions including antioxidant activity. This study was performed to analyze the effect of extraction conditions of green tea on its antioxidant effects using DPPH assay. Three extraction factors such as extraction solvent (EtOH, 0 - 100%), extraction time (3 - 15 min) and extraction temperature ($10-70^{\circ}C$) were analyzed and optimized extraction condition for antioxidant activity of green tea extract (GTE) was determined using response surface methodology with three-level-three-factor Box-Behnken design (BBD). Regression analysis showed a good fit of data and the optimal conditions of extraction were found to be 57.7% EtOH, 15 min and $70^{\circ}C$. Under this condition, antioxidant activity of experimental data was 88.4% which was almost fit to the ideal value of 88.6%. As epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is known for the major ingredient for antioxidant activity of green tea, we investigated the effect of EGCG on antioxidant activity of GTE. EGCG showed antioxidant activity with the $IC_{50}$ value of $4.2{\mu}g/ml$ and a positive correlation was observed between EGCG content and the antioxidant activity of GTE with $R^2=0.7134$. Interestingly, however, GTE with 50 - 70% antioxidant activity contain less than $1.0{\mu}g/ml$ of EGCG, which is much lower than $IC_{50}$ value of EGCG. Therefore, we suppose that EGCG together with other constituents contribute to antioxidant activity of GTE. Taken together, these results suggest that green tea is more beneficial than EGCG alone for antioxidant ability and optimal extraction condition of green tea will be useful for the development of food and pharmaceutical applications

녹차첨가 서리태청국장의 이화학적 특성 및 유리기 소거능 (Radical Scavenging Effects and Physicochemical Properties of Seolitae Chungkukjang Added with Green Tea)

  • 본 연구에서는 청국장의 기능성과 관능적 품질개선을 위한 연구의 일환으로 서리태청국장에 녹차를 0.5%, 2.0%, 5.0% 첨가(w/w)하여 청국장을 제조한 후 특성을 비교하고 항산화능을 검토하였다. 녹차 5% 첨가한 서리태청국장이 in vitro상에서 DPPH와 ${\cdot}OH$ 소거능이 우수하였고 관능검사 결과는 향, 맛, 종합적 기호도가 일반청국장과 유사하게 높게 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 종합하여 볼 때 녹차 5% 첨가 서리태청국장이 청국장의 관능적 품질이 뛰어날 뿐만 아니라 항산화활성이 가장 높은 것으로 평가되었다.

Quantitative Trait Loci Associated with Functional Stay-Green SNU-SG1 in Rice

  • During monocarpic senescence in higher plants, functional stay-green delays leaf yellowing, maintaining photosynthetic competence, whereas nonfunctional stay-green retains leaf greenness without sustaining photosynthetic activity. Thus, functional stay-green is considered a beneficial trait that can increase grain yield in cereal crops. A stay-green japonica rice 'SNU-SG1' had a good seed-setting rate and grain yield, indicating the presence of a functional stay-green genotype. SNU-SG1 was crossed with two regular cultivars to determine the inheritance mode and identify major QTLs conferring stay-green in SNU-SG1. For QTL analysis, linkage maps with 100 and 116 DNA marker loci were constructed using selective genotyping with $F_2$ and RIL (recombinant inbred line) populations, respectively. Molecular marker-based QTL analyses with both populations revealed that the functional stay-green phenotype of SNU-SG1 is regulated by several major QTLs accounting for a large portion of the genetic variation. Three main-effect QTLs located on chromosomes 7 and 9 were detected in both populations and a number of epistatic-effect QTLs were also found. The amount of variation explained by several digenic interactions was larger than that explained by main-effect QTLs. Two main-effect QTLs on chromosome 9 can be considered the target loci that most influence the functional stay-green in SNU-SG1. The functional stay-green QTLs may help develop low-input high-yielding rice cultivars by QTL-marker-assisted breeding with SNU-SG1.

신선초 녹즙이 사염화탄소 투여에 의한 흰쥐의 간 손상에 미치는 영향 (Inhibitory Effect of Angelica keiskei Koidz Green Juice on the Liver Damage in CCl4-Treated Rats)

  • To investigate effects of Angelica keiskei Koidz green juice on the liver damage of CCl4-treated tats, Sprague-Dawley male rats weighing 80~100g were divided into 4 groups of control group(CON), Angelica keiskei Koidz green juice-treated group(ANJ), CCl4-treated group(CCL) and Angelica keiskei Kodiz green juice and CCl4-treated group(ACL). Each group was sacrified after feeding for 4 weeks and examined the activities of transminase (sGOT, sGPT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px), and contents of lipid peroxide and glutathione in liver. The activities of sGOT and sGPT, and content of lipid peroxide after CCl4 treatment were markedly increased, compared to CON, but those levels were significantly decreased by the pretreatment of Angelica keiskei Koidz green juice as compared to CCL. The activities of SOD, catalase and GSH-Px were elevated by CCl4-treatment as compared to control group, and concomitant treatment of Angelical keiskei Koidz and CCl4 decreased those levels significantly except the activity of catalase. The hepatic content of glutathione was decreased by CCl4 and increased more abundant by Angelica keiskei Koidz administration than CCl4 treated group. These results suggest that Angelica keiskei Koidz green juice is believed to have a possible protective effect for the carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatotoxicity in rats.

원적외선 처리가 녹차의 항산화능과 카테킨 함량에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Far-Infrared Irradiation on the Antioxidant Activity and Catechin of Green Tea)

  • 본 연구에서는 녹차 완제품에 원적외선을 처리한 후 물 추출물을 제조하여 항산화능 및 catechin류의 변화를 조사하였다. 녹차 물 추출물의 flavanol 함량은 무처리구(145 mg/g)에 비하여 원적외선을 10분간 처리한 경우 160 mg/g로 증가하였으나, 20분간 처리하였을 경우에는 90 mg/g으로 감소하였다. 또한, DPPH 라디칼 소거능의 경우 원적외선을 10분간 처리한 녹차 추출물의 경우 62.57%로서 무처리구의 61.58%에 비해 약간의 증가를 나타내었지만, 원적외선을 20분간 처리한 경우에는 59.98%로서 감소하였다. 한편, 녹차 추출물의 epicatechin류(EGC, EGCG, EC, ECG)의 함량은 원적 외선의 처리 시간이 증가할수록 감소하였으며, catechin류(GC, C, GCG, CG) 함량은 원적외선을 10분간 처리하였을 때 가장 높게 관찰되었다.

  • Green strength is an important property of powders since high green strength guarantees easy and safe handling before sintering. The green strength of a powder compact is related to mainly mechanical and surface characters, governed by interlocking of the particles. In this study, the effect of powder surface roughness on the green strength of iron powders was investigated using a transverse rupture test. Three-dimensional laser profiler was employed for quantitative analyses of the surface roughness. Two different surface conditions, i.e. surface roughness, of powders were compared. The powders having rough surfaces show higher green strength than the round surface powders since higher roughness leads increasing interlocked area between the contacting powders.

  • Co-incorporation of Leguminosae with Gramineae could reduce the risk of nitrogen starvation phenomena caused by appling green manure of Gramineae alone. The objective of the study was to examine the effect of mixed sowing of hairy vetch and rye seeds on soil quality in mountainous highland. Mixed sowing of hairy vetch and rye increased the yield of green manure and nutrients compared with those for sowing of hairy vetch or rye alone. The yield of green manure from row seeding was $5.3Mg\;ha^{-1}$ compared with $4.8Mg\;ha^{-1}$ for broadcast seeding. Incorporation of the two green manure crops increased yield of red-bean by 58~92% as compared with yield for incorporation of rye alone. The results obtained in the study imply that mixed sowing of hairy vetch and rye can solve the problem of low emergence of hairy vetch in spring and high C/N ratio and rough incorporation of rye, in addition to increase in yield of green manure.

  • 요즈음 환경에 대한 교육적 의미와 그린제품의 보다 많은 확산과 환경보호의 차원에서 그린광고의 필요성과 중요성이 증가되고 있음에도 불구하고 광고 전략상의 문제로서 특히 그린광고에 대한 연구가 거의 이루어지지 않은 점에 착안하여 소비자들의 환경에 대한 인식을 북돋우고 그린제품 구매자뿐만 아니라 비그린제품 구매자의 그린제품 구매를 유도한다는 차원에서 그린광고에 대한 연구를 하였다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 그린광고가 소비자태도에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구로서 특히 메시지구조(결론생략/제시)측면과 관여를 고려한 상황에서 그린광고가 어떠한 메시지구조로 이루어져 있을 때 효과적인가를 알아보기 위해 그린/비그린제품 광고가 소비자의 인지/감정/행도에 대한 태도에 따라 어떠한 차이를 보이는지를 알아보고, 그린/비그린제품 광고의 경우 메시지구조(결론생략/제시)에 따라 어떠한 차이를 보이며 어떠한 메시지구조를 취할 때 광고의 효과가 나타나는지를 살펴본다. 그리고 그린/비그린제품 광고의 관여(고/저)에 따라 차이를 보이는지를 분석하고 어떤 상황에서 어떠한 메시지구조를 선택하는 것이 효과적인지를 살펴본다. 즉, 수많은 광고에 노출되고 있는 소비자들이 그린광고에 대해서는 어떠한 시각을 갖고 있으며 그린광고의 형태에 메시지의 결론을 제시해서 설득적인 의도를 표현하는 것이 효과적인지 메시지의 결론을 생략해서 설득적인 의도를 숨기고 소비자들이 스스로 추론하고 정보탐색을 하도록 하는 메시지구조가 그린광고의 형태에 효과적인지를 밝혀서 앞으로의 그린광고의 제작 및 메시지구조 측면에 있어서 그린광고의 효과와 개선에 도움을 주고 그럼으로써 많은 그린제품 확산에도 기여하고자한다.
