Development of Real-time Control System for White bBamline and Microprobe Beamline (백색광 및 X선 미세탐침 빔라인용 실시간 제어시스템 개발)

  • The White Beamline of the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory(PAL) consists of main and second slits, a microprobe system, two ion chambers, a video-microscope, and a Si(Li) detector. These machine components must be controlled remotely through computer system to make user experiments precise and speedy. A real-time computer control system was developed to control and monitor these machine components. A VNIEbus computer with OS-9 real-time operating system was used for low-level data acquisition and control. VME I/O modules were used for step motor control and scaler control. The software has modular structure for maximum performance and easy maintenance. We developed database, I/O driver, and control software. We used PC/Window95 for data logging and operator interface. Visual C++ was used graphical user interface programming. RS232C was used for communication between VME and PC.

  • 높아지는 Graphic Processing Unit (GPU)의 연산 성능과 GPU에서의 범용 프로그래밍을 위한 개발 환경의 개발, 보급으로 인해 GPU를 일반연산에 활용하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이와같이 일반 연산에 활용되고 있는 GPU로 nVidia Tesla와 AMD/ATI의 FireStream 들이 있다. 특수목적 연산 장치인 GPU를 일반 연산을 위해 프로그래밍하기 위해서는 그에 맞는 프로그램 개발 환경이 필요한데 nVidia에서 개발한 CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) 환경은 자사의 GPU 프로그램 개발을 위해 제공되는 개발 환경이다. CUDA 개발 환경은 nVidia GPU 프로그래밍 뿐만 아니라 차세대 이종 병렬 프로그램 개발 환경의 공개 표준으로 논의되고 있는 OpenCL (Open Computing Language) 와 유사한 특징을 보일 것으로 예상되기 때문에 그 중요성은 특정 GPU 에만 국한되지 않는다. 본 논문에서는 경로 적분 몬테 카를로 (Path Integral Monte Carlo) 방법을 CUDA 개발 환경을 사용하여 nVidia GPU 상에서 병렬화한 결과를 제시하였다.

  • This paper presents a fault diagnosis expert system for 765kV substation. The proposed system includes the topology processor and intelligent alarm processing subsystems. This expert system estimates the fault section through the inference process using heuristic knowledge and the output of topology processor and intelligent alarm processing system. The rule-base of this expert system is composed of basic rules suggested by Korea Electric Power Corporation and heuristic rules. This expert system is developed using PROLOG language. Also, user friendly Graphic User Interface is developed using visual basic programming in the windows XP environment. The proposed expert system showed a promising performance through the several case studies.

  • Recently, the system of the industry demands quick and accurate measurement for the mass production and high quality. Also, we need to improve the accuracy to decrease the failure rate in automatic assembly processing and improve the confidence, durability and the compatibility of parts. To answer this tendency and requirement, we have developed many accrate measuring instruments and methods. In this paper, we develop the whidows program using the DSP board(TMS320C25) which is used the data acquisition and the Visual C $^{++}$ , a windows programming language. We perform the measurement, analysis and output process in GUI(Graphic User Interface)environment. By using system, we will save the time required for the hand-worked measurement and avoid the useless iterative measurement. Furthermore, we expect to improve the productivity through automotive quality control in manufacturing process.s.

  • With the increase of sensitive data and their secure transmission and storage, the use of encryption techniques has become widespread. The performance of encoding majorly depends on the computational time, so a system with less computational time suits more appropriate as compared to its contrary part. Double Random Phase Encoding (DRPE) is an algorithm with many sub functions which consumes more time when executed serially; the computation time can be significantly reduced by implementing important functions in a parallel fashion on Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). Computing convolution using Fast Fourier transform in DRPE is the most important part of the algorithm and it is shown in the paper that by performing this portion in GPU reduced the execution time of the process by substantial amount and can be compared with MATALB for performance analysis. NVIDIA graphic card GeForce 310 is used with CUDA C as a programming language.

  • 특정 제조사의 단말 또는 운영체제에 의존성이 없는 플랫폼 독립적인 웹은 높은 이식성, 소프트웨어의 재활용, 개발 생산성, 풍부한 개발자 존재, 유지 보수 면에서 장점을 가지나, 화려한 UI/UX를 제공하는 네이티브 응용에 비해 낮은 성능으로 웹 기반의 응용 개발 및 보급이 크게 활성화되지 못했다. 한편 데스크톱은 물론 모바일 단말의 멀티코어 기반 Graphic Processing Unit(GPU), CPU 탑재 등 HW 고사양화와 웹 응용에서도 HW 가속 기능을 활용할 수 있는 표준 제공으로 성능 제약을 극복할 수 있게 되었다. 본고에서는 GPU 발전동향을 살펴보고, 고속 렌더링 및 병렬 연산처리를 요구하는 웹 응용이 GPU기반 HW 가속 기능을 활용할 수 있는 크로노스 그룹의 그래픽 가속(Web Graphics Library: WebGL) 및 컴퓨팅(Web Computing Language: WebCL) 지원 표준 규격을 정리한다. 또한, 최근 차세대 GPU Application Programming Interface(API)로 발표된 Vulkan에 대해 알아보고, 웹 고속화 기술에 적용 가능성에 대해 전망한다.

  • The role of a robot becomes more important as factory automation is widely spread in the manufacturing industry. An off-line program system has been required for uninterruption of production lines because it can save cost and time spent in adjusting a robot to a new workcell. The objective of this paper is to develop our own OLP system for a SCARA type FARA robot with four axes. Three-dimensional graphic results are presented for the case when the robot is simulated using the computed torque method with a PD controller and the continuous path trajectory planning.

  • This paper designs a CDU(Control Disaply Unit) for commercial high precision INS(Inertial Navigation System). The CDU is designed using GUI(Graphic User Interface) programming running on Windows operating system. Since the designed CDU provides standard functions of the Windows operating systems and has a modular structure, it is easy to modify and extend. The CDU has been interfaced to the H-726 INS, from which it's usefulness can be seen.

  • 최근 임베디드 환경에서 2차인 Vector Graphics에 대한 요구는 크게 증가하고 있으며, Flash Lite, SVG등의 응용이 이미 널리 사용되고 있다. 반면 이러한 응용을 지원하기 위한 API의 표준은 전무한 실정이었다. OpenVG 1.0은 임베디드 시스템을 위한 미디어 표준 제정 기관인 Khronos Group에서 제정한 2차원 벡터 그래픽스를 위한 API (Application Programming Interface)로 2005년 8월 발표되었다. 본 논문에서는 OpenVG 표준에 대해 간략히 소개하고 (주)휴원에서 세계최초로 상용화 개발에 성공한 AlexVG Engine의 개발과정과 결과에 대하여 설명한다.

Modified Delaunay Triangulation Based on Data Structure of Geometric Modeller (형상 모델러의 자료구조에 의한 수정 Delaunay 삼각화)

  • A modified Delaunay triangulation technique is tested for complicated computational domain. While a simple geometry. both in topology and geometry, has been well discretized into triangular elements, a complex geometry having difficulty in triangulation had to be divided into small sub-domains of simpler shape. The present study presents a modified Delaunay triangulation method based on the data structure of geometric modeller. This approach greatly enhances the reliability of triangulation, especially in complicated computational domain. We have shown that efficiency of Delaunay triangulation can be much improved by using both the GUI (Graphic User Interface) and OOP (Object-Oriented Programming).
