Extraordinary properties of nanocomposites make them a primary replacement for many conventional materials. Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, which is a frequent surgery in sport activities, is one of the fields in which nanocomposites could be utilized. In the present study, the mechanical properties of different porous scaffolds made from graphene nano-composites are presented ad load bearing capacity of these materials is calculated using finite element method. The numerical results are further compared with experimental published data. In addition, several geometrical and material parameters are analyzed to find the best configuration of nanocomposite scaffolds in reconstruction of ACL. Moreover, coating of detoxification chemicals are extremely easier on the nano-structured materials than conventional one. Detoxification potential of nano-composites in the injured body are also discussed in detail. The results indicated that nano-composite could be successfully used in place of auto- and allografts and also instead of conventional metallic screws in reconstruction of ACL.
Resently, the use of smart structures has been heightened up rapidly. For this issue, vibration analysis related to a graphene nanoplatelet composite (GPLRC) nanodisk which is attached to a piezoelectric layer and is subjected to thermal loads is explored in the current paper. The formulation of this study is obtained through the energy method and nonlocal strain gradient theory, and then it is solved employing generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM). Halpin-Tsai model in addition to the mixture's rule are utilized to capture the material properties related to the reinforced composite layer. The compatibility conditions are presented for exhibiting the perfect bounding between two layers. The results of this study are validated by employing the other published articles. The impact of such parameters as external voltage, the radius ratio, temperature difference, and nonlocality on the vibrational frequency of the system is investigated in detail.

Dynamic deflection analysis of sandwich beams with cellular core under thermal and pulse loads has been performed in the present article. The cellular core sandwich beam has two layers fortified by graphene oxide powder (GOP) which are micromechanically modeled by Halpin-Tsai formulation. The pulse load has blast type and is applied on the top side of sandwich beam. The system of equations has been developed based on higher-order beam theory and Ritz method. Then, they are solved in Laplace domain to derive the dynamic deflections. The dependency of beam deflection on temperature variation, GOP content, pulse load duration/location and core relative density has been studied in detail.
In the present research, dynamic deflections of a sandwich beam having functionally graded (FG) porous core have been investigated assuming that the sandwich beam is exposed to a pulse load of blast type. The two layers of sandwich beam have been made of a polymeric matrix reinforced by graphene oxide powder (GOP). The micromechanical formulation of the layers has been done via Halpin-Tsai model. The solution method is chosen to be Ritz method which is an efficient method to solve the system of equations of beams modeled based on a higher-order theory. To derive the time history of sandwich beam under pulse load, Laplace method has been used. The porosity content of the core, the GOP content of the layers, thickness of the layer and also duration of the applied load have great influences of the responses of sandwich beam.
In the present study, we aim to use nanotechnology sensors/actuators to capture pressure and frequency of voice singers and to send signals for improving breathing pressure. In this regard, a circular composite structure having 3 different layers are used. The core layer is nano-composite material reinforced with graphene nanoplatelets. The face sheets are piezo electric materials connected to electrical circuit capable of measuring and applying voltage to the piezoelectric layers. This sensors have extremely smaller size than conventional sensors attached to the neck of singer and, hence, minimizes the influences on the output voice of the singer. A brief theoretical framework are presented for nonlocal strain gradient theory and geometry of the sensor is described in detail. The controlling procedure along with experimental results on 20 amateur and professional singer participants are also presented. The results of the study indicate that the participants could gain benefit from the device for improving their ability in phonation and keeping their frequency at a constant level although they have difficulty in the beginning of the experiment getting used to the device.

Transient dynamic behavior of a sandwich beam under thermal and impulsive loads has been researched in the context of higher-order beam theory. The impulse load of blast type has been enforced on the top exponent of the sandwich beam while it is in a thermal environment. The core of the sandwich beam is cellular with auxetic rectangular pattern, whereas the layers have been built with the incorporation of graphene oxide powder (GOP) and are micromechanically introduced through Halpin-Tsai formulization. Governing equations for the sandwich beam have been solved through inverse Laplace transform style for obtaining the dynamical deflections. The connection of beam deflections on temperature variability, GOP quantity, pulse load situation and core relative density has been surveyed in detail.

BMNO dielectric materials with a pyrochlore structure have been chosen and they have quite high dielectric constants about 210 for the bulk material. In the case of thin films, 200-nm-thick BMNO films deposited at room temperature showed a low leakage current density of about $10^{-8}\;A/cm^2$ at 3 V and a dielectric constant of about 45 at 100 kHz. Because high dielectric constant BMNO thin films kept an amorphous phase at a high temperature above $900^{\circ}C$. High dielectric constant BMNO thin films grown at room temperature have many applications for flexible electronic devices. However, because the dielectric constant of the BMNO films deposited at room temperature is still low, percolative BMNO films (i.e., those were grown in a pure argon atmosphere) sandwiched between ultra-thin BMNO films grown in an oxygen and argon mixture have greater dielectric constants than standard BMNO films. However, they still showed a leakage problem at a high voltage application. Accordingly, a new nano-structure that uses BMNO was required to construct the films with a dielectric constant higher than that of its bulk material. The fundamental reason that the BMNO-Bi nano-composite films grown by RF-Sputtering deposition had a dielectric constant higher than that of the bulk material was addressed in the present study. Also we used the graphene as bottom electrode instead of the Cu bottom electrode. At first, we got the high leakage current density value relatively. but through this experiment, we could get improved leakage current density value.
In this study, graphene oxide(GO) was synthesized by using Hummer's method. Then, GO was used as a additive for epoxy resin nanocomposites that were prepared by mixing Tetraglycidyl diamino diphenyl methane(TGDDM) and hardner(MDEA+M-MIPA). Thermal and mechanical properties of epoxy resin nanocomposites were confirmed by analytical methods such as TG-DTA, DMA, fracture toughness, tensile strength, and flexural strength. The fracture surfaces of epoxy resin nanocomposites with different content of the GO were observed by a Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM). The mechanism for mechanical properties of epoxy resin nanocomposites was analyzed by modeling of nanocomposites with different GO weight. Due to the GO, both the heat resistance and the glass transition temperature of the epoxy resin nanocomposites were improved. Interestingly, when 0.1wt.% of GO was added to the epoxy resin/hardner mixture, the properties of mechanical increased compared with the neat epoxy resin. This results were caused by an aggregation between the GO.

Forward osmosis (FO) desalination system has been highlighted to improve the energy efficiency and drive down the carbon footprint of current reverse osmosis (RO) desalination technology. To improve the trade-off between water flux and salt rejection of thin film composite (TFC) desalination membrane, thin film nanocomposite membranes (TFN), in which nanomaterials as a filler are embeded within a polymeric matrix, are being explored to tailor the separation performance and add new functionality to membranes for water purification applications. The objective of this article is to develop a graphene nanocomposite membrane with high performance of water selective permeability (high water flux, high salt rejection, and low reverse solute diffusion) as a next-generation FO desalination membrane. For advances in fabrication of graphene oxide (GO) membranes, layer-by-layer (LBL) technique was used to control the desirable structure, alignment, and chemical functionality that can lead to ultrahigh-permeability membranes due to highly selective transport of water molecules. In this study, the GO nanocomposite membrane fabricated by LBL dip coating method showed high water flux ($J_w/{\Delta}{\pi}=2.51LMH/bar$), water selectivity ($J_w/J_s=8.3L/g$), and salt rejection (99.5%) as well as high stability in aqueous solution and under FO operation condition.
Even among gas separation methods, CO2 capture and separation via membranes is an ever-growing field, with many different membrane compositions continually being developed. Ionic liquid (IL) based composite membranes show excellent performance values in separating CO2. Similarly, various copolymer/IL composite membranes also display improved performance. The addition of fillers such as graphene oxide to these copolymer/IL composite membranes shows a further enhanced version of these fillers, most likely due to the strong interactions that occur between ILs and organic fillers, which consequently improves factors such as the affinity, selectivity, and adsorption of CO2. Copolymer/IL composite membranes utilizing a metal-organic framework (MOF) showed improved CO2 permeability. This review discusses the study of various combinations of ionic liquid and copolymer composite membranes for carbon dioxide separation.
