혼합잡곡의 항산화 활성 비교 (Antioxidant Activities of Mixed Grains)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the levels of antioxidant activities in some traditional and a few super food mixed rice. Amongst nine chosen samples, traditional five grains were analyzed and results revealed highest content of crude-protein ($8.05{\pm}1.11%$) and lowest crude-fat content ($1.74{\pm}0.29%$); however, the calories was found to be relatively low ($358.05{\pm}0.34kcal$) in the samples. Total polyphenols, flavonoids and tannins were extracted from nine samples with 80% methanol and biochemical activity was measured. The content of total polyphenols, flavonoids and total tannin was $206.5{\sim}452.0{\mu}g/mL$, $0.126{\sim}0.340{\mu}g/mL$, and $548.1{\sim}774.8{\mu}g/mL$, respectively. The traditional five grains showed the highest values except for DPPH radical scavenging activity. DPPH radical scavenging activity was 5 to 40.3% higher in eight samples than the traditional five grains sample. From these results, it is conjectured that a mixture of five grains, might exhibit equal or considerably higher effect as healthy diet when compared to super food. The results from this study would serve as basic data for the use of traditional mixed grains rice diet for good health.

  • Pollinosis usually caused by the airborne pollen grains, is an allergical disease which causes snivel and sneeze. The author has studied on airborne pollen grains collected at Chong-ro district in Seoul about 15m from April 1975 to March 1976. The obtained grains were 4 spp. of Gymnospermae, 19 spp. of Dicotyledoneae and 10 spp. of Monocotyledoneae. The tree season ranged from March to June, Alnus, Pinus and Acer were prevalent. The grass season ranged from May to October, Gramineae were prevalent. The weed season ranged from August, Artemisia were prevalent and ragweed was found.

TIME-DEPENDENT DUST FORMATION IN NOVAE

  • The dust formation processes in novae are investigated with close attention to recent infrared observations. Using mainly the classical nucleation theory, we have calculated the time scales of dust formation and growth in the environments of novas. Those time scales roughly the typical observations. We have classified the dust-forming novae into three classes according to their explosion properties and the thermodynamic properties of dust grains. Oxygen grains form much later than carbon grains because of their thermodynamic properties. The effect of grain formation to the efficiency of stellar winds to drive the material outward is tested with newly obtained Planck mean values of dust grains.

PHOTOSENSITIVITY OF HETEROJUNCTION TYPE GRAINS IN CUBIC SILVER HALIDE MICROCRYSTALS

  • Photosensitivity of silver halide emulsion depends on the properties of the microcrystals. Size, shape, grain distribution and chemical composition as well as the inner structure or the topography of the latent image specks affect on the optical properties and play an important role in the photographic process. In the present paper, a study on the sensitization of emulsion containing AgBrClI core/shell grains showed that for the given size, shape, halide content and crystal habit, under the optimal conditions the photosensitivity of the heterojunction type grains are different from that of the common regular grains. The optimal photosensitivity was obtained at the iodide content of 2.0 mo1%.

Modeling Polarized Dust Emission from Aligned Grains by Radiative Torques

  • We model the polarized dust emission from aligned grains by radiative torques in molecular clouds. We consider various models of molecular clouds and calculate the polarization spectrum from aligned grains by both internal and external radiation fields. We show that some polarization spectrum exhibits the bump at wavelengths ${\lambda}$ < $100{\mu}m$, which can be explained due to the polarized emission from a population of small grains aligned by internal radiation fields. Our polarization spectra can explain the anomalous spectra observed by Hildebrand et al, with the rising polarization toward short wavelengths

Effects of Defaunation on Fermentation Characteristics and Methane Production by Rumen Microbes In vitro When Incubated with Starchy Feed Sources

  • An in vitro experiment was conducted to examine the effects of defaunation (removal of protozoa) on ruminal fermentation characteristics, $CH_4$ production and degradation by rumen microbes when incubated with cereal grains (corn, wheat and rye). Sodium lauryl sulfate as a defaunation reagent was added into the culture solution at a concentration of 0.000375 g/ml, and incubated anaerobically for up to 12 h at $39^{\circ}C$. Following defaunation, live protozoa in the culture solution were rarely observed by microscopic examination. A difference in pH was found among grains regardless of defaunation at all incubation times (p<0.01 to 0.001). Defaunation significantly decreased pH at 12 h (p<0.05) when rumen fluid was incubated with grains. Ammonia-N concentration was increased by defaunation for all grains at 6 h (p<0.05) and 12 h (p<0.05) incubation times. Total VFA concentration was increased by defaunation at 6 h (p<0.05) and 12 h (p<0.01) for all grains. Meanwhile, defaunation decreased acetate and butyrate proportions at 6 h (p<0.05, p<0.01) and 12 h (p<0.01, p<0.001), but increased the propionate proportion at 3 h, 6 h and 12 h incubation (p<0.01 to 0.001) for all grains. Defaunation increased in vitro effective degradability of DM (p<0.05). Production of total gas and $CO_2$ was decreased by defaunation for all grains at 1 h (p<0.05, p<0.05) and then increased at 6 h (p<0.05, p<0.05) and 12 h (p<0.05, p<0.05). $CH_4$ production was higher from faunation than from defaunation at all incubation times (p<0.05).

담자균이 배양된 곡물의 유리당 조성 변화 (Comparison of Free Sugar Content in Grains Fermented with Mycelia of the Basidiomycetes)

  • 약용버섯의 균사체(Ganoderma lucidum 7094, Fomitella fraxinea 81003, Phellinus igniarius 26005)를 곡류와 같은 고체재료에 배양하고 발효된 곡류의 유리당 조성 변화를 관찰함으로써 기능성식품 개발의 가능성을 검토하였다. 담자균사체의 대량배양 조건 실험을 실시한 결과, 냉침에 의해 최대수화에 도달한 곡물을 배양용기에 담고, 액체배양 후 균질화한 담자균사체를 곡물에 접종함으로써 접종초기 짧은 시간에 균사가 완전히 활착되도록 할 수 있었다. 또한 균사 배양중기에 멸균 증류수를 첨가함으로써 균사의 활력을 유지시킬수 있었다. 담자균사체는 종류에 따라 유리당 총량 및 구성비에 있어서 큰 차이를 나타내었다. 또한 담자균사체가 배양된 곡물의 유리당 함량을 측정한 결과, 유리당 총량 및 대부분의 유리당 함량이 곡물 자체에서 보다 증가하였으며, 담자균과 곡물배지의 종류에 따라 당의 이용성에 큰 차이를 나타내었다.

급동 급치식 풋콩 탈협기 개발을 위한 기초 연구 (Development of Vegetable Soybean Thresher with Tooth Type)

  • Worldwide consumption of vegetable soybean bas been increasing recently, hence it is necessary to produce good quality of soybean in our farms. In the process of vegetable soybean production threshing and seperation work accounts for about 80% of overall labor. Therefore, developing of the vegetable soybean thresher is necessary to reduce the cost of labor. The purpose of this study is to acquire the basic informations to design of the vegetable soybeans-thresher. We make the experimental system which measure the physical properties and investigate the detachment forces. Also, We calculated the minimum speed of threshing cylinder. The result are as follows; 1. The average length of soybean stem is 68.2cm. 2. The length of soybean pods are seen as 61.3mm for 3 grain, 52.6mm fer 2 grains and 41.0mm fer 1 grain 3. The widths of soybean pods are seen as 14.1mm fer 3 grain, 13.8mm fer 2 grains and 13.4mm fer 1 grain. 4. The weights of soybean pods are seen as 4.1grams for 3 grains, 2.7grams for 2 grains and 1.4grams for 1 grain. 5. The average detachment forces of pods are seen as 1.5kgf for 3 grains, 1.2kgf for 2 grains and 0.8kgf for 1 grain respectively For 1 grain, the detachment force of pods ranges from 0.2kgf to 1.4kgf. For 2 grains, the minimum detachment force of pods is seen as 0.6kgf and the maximum one is seen as 2.5kgf. For 3 grains, the minimum detachment force of pods is seen as 0.7kgf and the maximum one is seen as 2.7kgf. 6. The minimum speed of threshing cylinder is shown 6.83m/s.

대맥 F2집단의 조합능력과 상관관계 (Combining Ability and Correlation for Some Quantitative Characters of F2 Hybrids in Barley)

  • This study was conducted to estimate the genetic parameters such as combining ability, heritabilities and correlation coefficients forsome agronomic characters by 6$\times$6 dialled crosses of barley. The results obtained were summarized as follows. Mean squares of general combining ability(GCA) and specific combining ability(SCA) were significant for all characters observed. Mean squares of general combining ability for all characters were expressed as higher values than those of specific combining ability. Jecheon #5 showed the high general combining ability effects for culm length, and Waegwanpimack #1 showed the highest general combining ability effects for tiller number. Cygne also showed the high general combining ability effects for spike length and 1,000 grains weight. Furthermore, Plumage was expressed with the highest general combining ability effects for spike length and 1,000 grains weight. Furthermore, Plumage was expressed with the highest general combining ability effects for number of grains per spike. In specific combining ability effects, Samdugjeonbug # 45$\times$Plumage showed the high value for culm length, and Suwon #6 $\times$Waegwanpimack #1$\times$ was expressed with the highest specific combining ability effects for tiller number. Jecheon #5$\times$Plumage also showed the high specific combining ability effects for spike length and number of grains per spike. Suwon #6$\times$Cygne showed the high specific combining ability effects for 1,000 grains weight. The heritabilities of spike length an number of grains per spike were over 90%. In correlation coefficients among characters, relationships between culm length and tiller number, culm length and spike length, culm length and 1,000 grains weight, and spike length and 1,000 grains weight showed highly positively correlation.

전라북도 지역 당뇨환자의 잡곡밥 섭취 실태 및 혼합비를 달리한 잡곡밥의 관능검사 (Status of Mixed Grain Diet by People with Diabetes in Jeollabuk-do and Sensory Evaluation of Different Composition of Mixed Grains)

  • 본 연구에서는 전라북도 지역에 거주하는 68명의 당뇨환자들을 대상으로 잡곡밥 섭취 실태를 조사하였고 이를 바탕으로 관능성을 개선하기 위하여 잡곡의 혼합비를 달리한 잡곡밥을 대상으로 관능검사를 실시하였다. 조사대상자의 BMI를 측정한 결과 전체 대상자 중 61.7%가 과체중 이상이었다. 잡곡밥 섭취실태를 조사한 결과 94.1%가 잡곡밥을 섭취하였고, 성별에 따른 섭취율은 여성이 남성에 비해 더 자주 섭취하였으며(p<0.05), 섭취이유에 대해서 알아본 결과 남녀 모두 건강에 좋아서 섭취한다고 응답한 대상자가 가장 많았다. 잡곡밥에 혼합하는 잡곡의 수는 여성이 남성에 비하여 더 많은 잡곡을 혼합하였으며(p<0.01), 지속적인 섭취 여부를 알아본 결과 '지속적으로 먹겠다'라고 응답한 여성이(47.1%) 남성(36.8%)보다 많았다(p<0.05). 잡곡밥 섭취 기간은 3년 이상 섭취 59%, 잡곡의 구입 장소는 집주변 소형마트 46.0%로 가장 많았으며, 흰밥에 가장 많이 혼합하는 잡곡은 검정콩(76.5%)으로 조사되었다. 멥쌀을 제외하고 보리, 현미 등 6가지 잡곡의 혼합비율을 50%로 만든 RMGD-50과 40%로 만든 RMGD-40의 비교 관능검사 결과 겉모양과 색깔에 있어 잡곡의 함량이 많은 RMGD-50이 상대적으로 잡곡의 함량이 적은 RMGD-40보다 낮은 점수를 받았으며($3.33{\pm}0.68$, $3.50{\pm}0.81$), 당뇨환자들은 잡곡의 혼합비율이 보다 낮은 잡곡밥을 더 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. RMGD-40과 찰성 곡물 함량이 많은 Control 1, 백미인 Control 2를 비교 평가한 결과 Control 1에 비해 RMGD-40은 겉모양, 냄새, 색깔에서는 낮은 점수를 받았으나 유의적인 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 잡곡밥에 익숙한 입맛을 가진 당뇨환자들에게 백미는 질기, 씹힘성, 맛 항목에서 가장 낮은 점수를 보였으며($3.26{\pm}0.82$, $3.48{\pm}0.85$, $3.19{\pm}0.70$), 이는 RMGD-40 및 Control 1과 유의적인 차이를 나타냈다(p<0.01). 결론적으로 당뇨환자들은 잡곡의 비율이 보다 낮고 찰성 곡물의 함량이 많은 잡곡밥을 선호하였다. 따라서 바람직한 혈당 관리를 위하여 당뇨환자들에게 곡류의 섭취에 대한 교육이 반드시 필요하며 당뇨환자들을 위하여 혈당관리에 도움이 되는 잡곡밥의 개발에 대한 연구가 지속적으로 이루어져야 할 것이다.
