Video fingerprints generated from global features are usually vulnerable against general geometric transformations. In this paper, a novel video fingerprinting algorithm is proposed, in which a new spatio-temporal gradient is designed to represent the spatial and temporal information for each frame, and a new partition scheme, based on concentric circle and rings, is developed to resist the attacks efficiently. The centroids of spatio-temporal gradient orientations (CSTGO) within the circle and rings are then calculated to generate a robust fingerprint. Our experiments with different attacks have demonstrated that the proposed approach outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in terms of robustness and discrimination.
In this paper, we construct a new approach of affine scaling interior algorithm using the affine scaling conjugate gradient and Lanczos methods for bound constrained nonlinear optimization. We get the iterative direction by solving quadratic model via affine scaling conjugate gradient and Lanczos methods. By using the line search backtracking technique, we will find an acceptable trial step length along this direction which makes the iterate point strictly feasible and the objective function nonmonotonically decreasing. Global convergence and local superlinear convergence rate of the proposed algorithm are established under some reasonable conditions. Finally, we present some numerical results to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
A Galerkin meshfree method is presented for analyzing shear deformable cylindrical panels. Based upon the analogy between the cylindrical panel and the curved beam a pure bending mode for cylindrical panel is rationally constructed. The meshfree approximation employed herein is characterized by an enhanced moving least square or reproducing kernel basis function that can exactly represent the pure bending mode and thus meets the requirement of Kirchhoff mode reproducing condition. The variational form is discretized using the efficient stabilized conforming nodal integration with a smoothed nodal gradient based curvature. The resulting meshfree formulation satisfies the integration constraint for bending exactness. Moreover, it is shown here that the smoothed gradient preserves several desired properties which are valid for the standard gradient obtained by direct differentiation, such as partition of nullity and reproduction of a constant strain field. The efficacy of the proposed approach is demonstrated by two benchmark cylindrical panel examples.

This paper investigates the vibration characteristics of flexoelectric nanobeams resting on viscoelastic foundation and subjected to magneto-electro-viscoelastic-hygro-thermal (MEVHT) loading. In this regard, the Nonlocal strain gradient elasticity theory (NSGET) is employed. The proposed formulation accommodates the nonlocal stress and strain gradient parameter along with the flexoelectric coefficient to accurately predict the frequencies. Further, with the aid of Hamilton's principle the governing differential equations are derived which are then solved through Galerkin-based approach. The variation of the natural frequency of MEVHT nanobeams under the influence of various parameters such as the nonlocal strain gradient parameter, different field loads, power-law exponent and slenderness ratio are also investigated.

Recently, the neutron irradiation for large diameter silicon (Si)-ingots of more than 8" diameter is requested to satisfy the demand for the neutron transmutation doping silicon (NTD-Si). By increasing the Si-ingot diameter, the radial non-uniformity becomes larger due to the neutron attenuation effect, which results in a limit of the feasible diameter of the Si-ingot. The current evaluation method has a certain limit to precisely evaluate the radial uniformity of Si-ingot because the current evaluation method does not consider the effect of the Si-ingot diameter on the radial uniformity. The objective of this study is to propose a new evaluation method of radial uniformity by improving the conventional evaluation approach. To precisely predict the radial uniformity of a Si-ingot with large diameter, numerical verification is conducted through comparison with the measured data and introducing the new evaluation method. A new concept of a gradient is introduced as an alternative approach of radial uniformity evaluation instead of the radial resistivity gradient (RRG) interpretation. Using the new concept of gradient, the normalized reaction rate gradient (NRG) and the surface normalized reaction rate gradient (SNRG) are described. By introducing NRG, the radial uniformity can be evaluated with one certain standard regardless of the ingot diameter and irradiation condition. Furthermore, by introducing SNRG, the uniformity on the Si-ingot surface, which is ignored by RRG and NRG, can be evaluated successfully. Finally, the radial uniformity flattening methods are installed by the stainless steel thermal neutron filter and additional Si-pipe to reduce SNRG.
We present microfluidic method to rapidly analyze the effect of temperature on the change of morphologies of Antarctic bacteria (Pseudoalteromonas sp., Shewanella vesiculosa, Shewanella sp., and Cellulophaga sp.). The microfluidic device is able to generate stable temperature gradient from 7 to$40^{\circ}C$ and dramatically reduce the number of experiments, experimental cost and labor, and amount of sample. Based on this approach, we found that specific bacteria transforming morphology into filament or elongated body strongly depends on cultivation temperature. Interestingly, we found that the morphologies of Pseudoalteromonas sp., Shewanella vesiculosa, Shewanella sp., and Cellulophaga sp. are elongated at below $25^{\circ}C$, above $20^{\circ}C$, above $15^{\circ}C$ and above $35^{\circ}C$, respectively. We envision the microfluidic device is a useful approach to analyze biological events with a high throughput manner.

The paper presents a method for location of subsurface UXOs. The approach utilities gradient interpretation techniques (analytic signal, horizontal gradient and Euler methods) to locate the objects. Then, linear least-squares technique, we obtain the magnetization location of the sources. We demonstrate the practical utility of the method using marine magnetic field data.

A study that primarily focuses on nonlocal strain gradient plate model for the sole purpose of vibration examination, for graphene sheets under linearly variable in-plane mechanical loads. To study a better or more precise examination on graphene sheets, a new advance model was conducted which carries two scale parameters that happen to be related to the nonlocal as well as the strain gradient influences. Through the usage of two-variable shear deformation plate approach, that does not require the inclusion of shear correction factors, the graphene sheet is designed. Based on Hamilton's principle, fundamental expressions in regard to a nonlocal strain gradient graphene sheet on elastic half-space is originated. A Galerkin's technique is applied to resolve the fundamental expressions for distinct boundary conditions. Influence of distinct factors which can be in-plane loading, length scale parameter, load factor, elastic foundation, boundary conditions, and nonlocal parameter on vibration properties of the graphene sheets then undergo investigation.
The objective of this study is to reveal the sufficiency of neural networks (NN) as a securer, quicker, more robust and reliable method to be used in seismic assessment of existing reinforced concrete buildings. The NN based approach is applied as an alternative method to determine the seismic performance of each existing RC buildings, in terms of damage level. In the application of the NN, a multilayer perceptron (MLP) with a back-propagation (BP) algorithm is employed using a scaled conjugate gradient. NN based model wasd eveloped, trained and tested through a based MATLAB program. The database of this model was developed by using a statistical procedure called P25 method. The NN based model was also proved by verification set constituting of real existing RC buildings exposed to 2003 Bingol earthquake. It is demonstrated that the NN based approach is highly successful and can be used as an alternative method to determine the seismic performance of each existing RC buildings.
A method of width adaptation in the radial basis function network (RBFN) using stochastic gradient (SG) algorithm is introduced. Using Taylor's expansion of error signal and differentiating the error with respect to the step-size, the optimal time-varying step-size of the width in RBFN is derived. The proposed approach to adjusting widths in RBFN achieves superior learning speed and the steady-state mean square error (MSE) performance in nonlinear channel environment. The proposed method has shown enhanced steady-state MSE performance by more than 3 dB in both nonlinear channel environments. The results confirm that controlling over step-size of the width in RBFN by the proposed algorithm can be an effective approach to enhancement of convergence speed and the steady-state value of MSE.
