Background: Telework adoption in Taiwan has surged because of government guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study examined the disclosure practices of Taiwanese-listed companies, assessing their adherence to government telework guidelines and their correlation with corporate governance, focusing on occupational health measures. Methods: We conducted a guideline-adherent cohort analysis of the 2020 and 2021 sustainability reports of 295 Taiwanese-listed companies. We assessed their disclosure of corporate measures for teleworking in alignment with two government guidelines, specifically occupational health measures. Using the McNemar test and general estimating equation analysis, we compared the 2020 and 2021 responses and examined their associations with corporate governance rankings. Results: Telework adoption increased significantly from 2020 to 2021, with 68% of companies reporting new work modes. The mentioning of government guidelines also increased to 67% by 2021. Companies with higher governance rankings were more likely to adopt online occupational health measures, including occupational health services (RR = 2.03; 95% CI = 1.41-2.94; p < 0.001) and mental health promotion activities (RR = 2.01; 95% CI = 1.06-3.82; p = 0.032), than those with low rankings. Although on-site and online occupational health services increased, home workspace assessments did not. Conclusion: Our findings highlight significant upward trends in the disclosure of telework measures following the issuance of government guidelines. Corporate governance is significantly associated with the implementation of occupational health measures. Amid the evolution of teleworking, both government guidelines and corporate governance have become essential for shaping work arrangements and ensuring workforce well-being.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The Seoul Metabolic Syndrome Management (SMESY) program is a 1-yr lifestyle modification program targeting metabolic syndrome (MetS) in Seoul residents. This study investigated the associations between adherence to dietary guidelines and MetS among the SMESY program participants. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Data of 54,385 participants aged 20-64 yrs who completed the SMESY program in 2015, had information on adherence to dietary guidelines, and were not medicated for diabetes, hypertension, or dyslipidemia were analyzed. Participants underwent MetS screening and completed a lifestyle questionnaire including adherence to 10 dietary guidelines before and after participation. Participants were classified according to the number of MetS risk factors at baseline (MetS group, ≥ 3; risk group, 1-2; healthy group, none). Adherence to dietary guidelines was determined from the number of "yes" responses regarding the fulfillment of each guideline on ≥ 5 days/week. Multiple logistic regression was used to evaluate associations between newly diagnosed MetS and changes in adherence to dietary guidelines. RESULTS: In the MetS group, MetS prevalence decreased after the SMESY program (men, -41.9%p; women, -48.7%p), and all risk factors were significantly improved (P < 0.0001). All groups exhibited improved adherence to all dietary guidelines after participation (P < 0.0001). In the MetS group with positively changed adherence scores, the MetS prevalence decreased by -44.1%p for men and -49.5%p for women, whereas the prevalence in those with negative changes decreased by -38.1%p for men and -48.6%p for women. In the risk group, those with positively changed adherence scores had significantly decreased odds ratios (ORs) for newly diagnosed MetS compared with those with negative changes (OR, 0.70; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.61-0.80 for men; OR, 0.88; 95% CI, 0.79-0.99 for women). CONCLUSIONS: The SMESY program may effectively reduce the risk of MetS among adults with risk factors by improving adherence to dietary guidelines.
The KOSHA codes H-31 and H-30 provide general guidelines to establish a prevention program for work-related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSD). Understanding of the components and practitioner needs for a WMSD prevention program is necessary for effective revision and implementation of the KOSHA codes. The present study established a comprehensive structure for a WMSD prevention program and surveyed practitioner needs for the KOSHA codes. The comprehensive prevention program structure, consisting of 7 parts(organization, education, risk management, medical management, program evaluation, and record keeping) and 90 items, was constructed by analyzing WMSD prevention guidelines published by various government agencies such as KOSHA, OSHA and NIOSH. Next, 20 practitioners, from four industry sectors(auto manufacturing, auto part manufacturing, shipbuilding, and machinery), working in a safety and health department or labor union, were interviewed to collect opinions for the KOSHA codes in terms of relevance, government support, and additional information needed. Guidelines of the KOSHA codes requiring modifications and government supports were identified, which can be used to revise the KOSHA codes and to establish a government policy to promote the implementation of the KOSHA codes. Lastly, the survey revealed that integrated, customized, quantitative, and case information for WMSD prevention is additionally needed, which can be used as design guidelines for a WMSD prevention program manual for practitioners.
Dietary guidelines are a distillation of dietary advice from health professionals to the general public. They are based upon current scientific knowledge about the relationships between diet and disease, nutrients available in the food supply of a country, and the profile of morbidity and mortality in that country. With two different sets of dietary guidelines used for more than an decade in Korea. the necessity of revising dietary guidelines has been raised continuously from academia and research. Funded by a grant from the Health Technology Planing and Evaluation Board. Dietary guidelines for each age group were drafted as a research project and the one for the Korean elderly is as follows: Dietary Guidelines for the korean elderly(draft) - Have a variety of easily digestible foods on time; at least 3 meals a day and some snakes. - Be physically active to maintain appetite and/or ideal body weight. ; maintain a balance between activity and what you eat. -Increase consumption of bean-and dairy-and dairy-products. - Consume enough amounts of fresh dark-green and yellow vegetables and fresh fruits. - Consume adequate amounts of assorted kind of animal foods including fish, meat and poultry. - If you drink alcoholic beverages, limit your intake and, drink enough water and other averages; alcohol may interact with your medication and affect your appetite. Aforementioned draft and related contents are expected to be utilized as a neat base in formulating(or revising) dietary guidelines for Korean by the Government in near future.

The purpose of this study was to compare the composition of the government guidelines for the educational curriculum of Japan announced in 2016 with the outline of the 2015 revised educational curriculum of Korea. To compare the composition of the national level curricula of the two countries, the composition systems and content details were analyzed along with the trends of emphasis placed on informatics education. The analysis indicated that as for the Japanese government's guidelines, it was suggested that the causes of revisions, and purposes and methods of fulfilling goals be added, and thus the appropriateness of the guidelines was emphasized. As for Korea's revised curriculum, a gap caused by segmental development of the outline and details of the curriculum were found in addition to errors in curricular composition and direction setting which were carried out without consideration to the transition time required or changes of subjects. To ensure sufficiency of the curricular contents and education reflecting the situations of each time phase, the necessity to improve the overall curricular framework was suggested. This study holds significance as it provides the introspective insight that the goals and directions of education cannot be set properly when the curricular framework is established without recognition of the contents.
The purpose of this study was to compare government guidelines and foreign guidelines related to furniture design for elderly. Future elderly will increasingly accustomed to the provisions of improved housing, education and welfare in comparison with our forebears. Also, there will be upgrading and different need for elderly furniture in our market. The results were as follows. The height of bed was based on the height of wheelchair seat, commonly. A adjustable bed was recommended for abled and disabled elderly. A pull-down shelf, drawer, empty space under chest, folding or sliding door in wardrobe and so on were recommended as a elderly furniture. It were good adjustable sink on human scale. There were need the empty space under sink for wheelchair users, one-touch or lever faucet, etc. There have given a little furniture design guidelines for elderly in Korea until now. But those guidelines haven't been considered enough human scale of elderly including wheelchair user. Because the close investigations have not made about abled and disabled elderly for their furniture design. So first of all, the government should be examined elderly physical size more accurately for elderly furniture design. The guideline for elderly furniture design should be for abled elderly and the disabled, too.

Even though attempts are made to transform from 2D CAD to BIM representation for building design and construction, it were not so successful for practical implementation until recently in construction industry in Korea. However, there is a dramatic change for the use of BIM by collaboration among government, independent organizations as well as industry itself. Government reckons that BIM is an important tool for environment friendly construction and industry competitiveness. The government not only makes national BIM standards and push policies in order to make market environment. Independent organizations such as BuildingSMART Korea does active role to stimulate the transformation process successfully. They act as opinion leaders for the Government to consider BIM implementation for industry competitiveness issue. They make roadmap as well as technical standards and guidelines. It also leads technical developments and supports for its implementation. Government supports researches for the implementation of BIM. The research includes BIM standards, guidelines, linking with existing Architectural Administrative Information Systems, making libraries as well as education. Government makes policy for BIM as a compulsory data for bidding process of newly designed government buildings. Private sector not only agrees BIM as a tool to adapt but also essential methods for its survival in domestic and foreign construction market. Architectural design companies and constructions companies currently develop technical skills and implement BIM for new projects such as Dongdaemoon Plaza that cannot be successfully drawn by conventional methods.
Social media, also known as the 'revolution of communication', has become a major means of communication and service in contemporary society. Unlike existing media, the advantage of being able to deliver interactive information is already beyond the level of use between individuals and government efforts to use it. In fact, local governments in Korea operate one or more social media services for various purposes, which promotes policies of local governments or provides prompt information to local residents. These social media records are based on public business and should be managed as records. However, the legal basis for managing records of social media in the area of public records management is currently small, and each local government does not recognize the need for records management. Social media operate by local governments are not only of different types but also difficult to manage as standardized guidelines. Nevertheless, minimal guidance is needed to manage and preserve social media records. The purpose of this study is to draw out the least common elements in the preparation of guidelines for social media record management. For this purpose, the guidelines and policies established by advanced countries that already systematically manage social media were analyzed and the items and characteristics were derived. In addition, the guidelines were checked for application by comparing actual social media records with social media archives. This study is meaningful in that it proposed components that should be included in the development of guidelines for the management of social media records in local governments through the actual status of social media archive operations.

The purpose of this study is to examine the circumstances of repair works after enacting "Low for Conservation of Joseon Treasure, Historic Site, Scenic Beauty & Natural Monument (朝鮮寶物古跡名勝天然記念物保存令)". For this purpose, the official documents produced by the Government-general Museum of Joseon were analyzed. They included the contents of repair works of Hwaumsa Kakhwangjeon(華嚴寺 覺皇 殿). As a result, this study reveals that the repair work of Hwaumsa Kakhwangjeon had become a momentum of introducing specific guidelines such as "Guidelines for Architectural Treasure's Repair 寶物建造物修理施行準則", "Regulations for administration of Hwaumsa Kakhwangjeon's repair work 華嚴寺覺皇殿修理工事取扱手續)". The guidelines and regulations systematized the planning phase of the repair works and provided to organize the field office formed by experts. In spite of these positive changes, the repair works were controlled by the central government to the certain extent, and the Japanese repair techniques were mingled with traditional techniques recklessly.
The remarkable achievements of the artificial intelligence in recent years are also raising awareness about its potential risks. Several governments and public organizations have been proposing the artificial intelligence ethics for sustainable development of artificial intelligence by minimizing potential risks. However, most existing proposals are focused on the developer-centered ethics, which is not sufficient for the comprehensive ethics required for ongoing intelligent information society. In addition, they have chosen a number of principles as the starting point of artificial intelligence ethics, so it is not easy to derive the guideline flexibly for a specific member reflecting its own situation. In this paper, we classify primitive members who need artificial intelligence ethics in intelligent information society into three : Developer, Supplier and User. We suggest a new artificial intelligence ethics, Seoul PACT, with minimal principles through publicness (P), accountability (A), controllability (C), and transparency (T). In addition, we provide 38 canonical guidelines based on these four principles, which are applicable to each primitive members. It is possible for a specific member to duplicate the roles of primitive members, so that the flexible derivation of the artificial intelligence ethics guidelines can be made according to the characteristics of the member reflecting its own situation. As an application example, in preparation for applying artificial intelligence to e-government service, we derive a full set of artificial intelligence ethics guideline from Seoul PACT, which can be adopted by the special member named Korean Government.
