In order to investigate the compositions and the emission rates of monoterpenes emitted from coniferous trees, those from Larix leptoleis (Sieb, et Zucc.) Gordon were measured. In spring and summer, the major monoterpenes were ${\alpha}-terpinene,\;{\alpha}-pinene$, myrcene; however, ${\alpha}-pinene\;and\;{\alpha}-terpinene$ were most abundant in fall. The total mean monoterpene emission rates were $0.455\;({\mu}gC/gdw/hr)$ during the whole period. The higher monoterpene emission rates were found in fall compared to those in spring and summer. In addition, the slopes (${\beta}\;value$) between emission rate and temperature were two times lower in fall than those in spring and summer. It was also found that Larix leptoleis (Sieb. et Zucc.) Cordon had lower monoterpene emission rates than P. densiflora and P. rigida.

This article explores the complex modes of experiencing the modern city that are engaging and disengaging by nature, which thus negates any simple ways of understanding what it means by 'the urban' in a Manichean comparison. What follows is an in-depth case study of Gordon Matta-Clark's 1976 film titled City Slivers. Influenced by the countercultural practices prevalent in the 1960s and 1970s, Matta-Clark produced a number of works roughly grouped together under the rubric of "building cuts." Among many others, City Slivers is distinctive among Matta-Clark's extensive cutting projects, in the sense that he actively utilizes film as a primary expressive medium and poetically reassembles fragmentary images of cityscape in order to bring forth an alternative urban scenario where the tension between institution-bound urbanization and dispersed daily urban practices is highlighted. Instead of simply being critical against the changing urban conditions of Manhattan in the 1970s, Matta-Clark aims to actively grasp ambivalent instances of urban life that are at once attractive and alienating, thereby excavating the subconscious terrain of contemporary urbanism that is prevalent but often dismissed over glamorous urban projects.

The main purpose of this study is to measure and compare the state of the art (SOA) of DNA chips of Korea, Japan and the United States using Gordon's scoring model. From the comparison, Korea's SOAs of DNA chip were estimated to be 70% and 62% of those of the United States in terms of functional and technical parameters, whereas Japan's SOAs were 79% and 77%, respectively. The results of this study could be applied to the strategic technology planning for narrowing the technology gap, and used as one of the key criteria for resource allocation in national R&D programs and the fundamental information to formulate the biotechnology policy for the Korean government.

We solve the Klein-Gordon equation with the modified Rosen-Morse potential energy model. The bound state energy equation has been obtained by using the supersymmetric shape invariance approach. The relativistic vibrational transition frequencies for the $6^1{\Pi}_u$ state of the $^7Li_2$ molecule have been computed by using the modified Rosen-Morse potential model. The calculated relativistic vibrational transition frequencies are in good agreement with the experimental RKR values.

Across the world, building energy codes are becoming stricter, demanding higher levels of energy performance with each issuance. Some locations have taken initiatives to eliminate operational emissions altogether by requiring buildings to be carbon neutral. However, while the objectives of carbon neutrality are without doubt statement worthy, we believe that once operational performance has been tackled to a reasonable level of performance the sights should be trained on a different objective-life; cycle carbon. This paper defines what we mean by life cycle carbon neutrality and presents an approach toward reducing it.

Providing trading partners with personal information to establish an e-commerce financial transaction is inevitable. Most e-commerce companies keep personal information and transaction data for user's convenience and develop additional services as their applications. However, keeping personal information increases the likelihood of identity theft causing direct or indirect damage while it may simplify repetitive financial transactions. This study introduces risk management methods based on quantitative and qualitative analysis including demand-supply curve model and Gordon & Loeb model to analyze the risks for security management. The empirical analysis with survey results from KISA (Korea Information Security Agency) shows that the root cause of different statistics of personal information leakage incidents according to core business of internet companies is the difference in their Loss Expectancy caused by them. Also we suggest disciplinary compensation and higher standard for personal information protection as a solution to prevent the variation of investment on it between individual companies.

This study empirically examines the dynamic specification of the ship price model based on a vector autoregressive model and data covering from January 2000 to October 2014. Our results are summarized as follows: first, the relationship between ship price and interest rate shows significantly negative and the relationship between ship price and freight rate shows positive. It provides consistent implication that ship price depends on interest rate and freight rate under the dynamic Gordon model. Second, we apply an impulse response analysis to ship price and find the responses of the ship price from both factors, interest rate and freight rate, which affect during seven periods approximately. Finally, the results of a variance decomposition indicate that freight rate is more important than interest rate on the ship price.
