  • The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of workplace harassment in foodservice industry culinary staff's on organizational silence, counterproductive work behavior and turnover intent. Based on total 234 samples obtained from empirical research, this study tested the reliability and fitness of the research model and verified a total of 5 hypotheses using the AMOS program. Using a structural equation model (SEM), hypothesized relationships in the model were tested simultaneously. The proposed model provided an adequate fit the data, $x^2=75.936$ (p<.001), df=41, CMIN/DF=1.852, GFI=.946, AGFI=.913, NFI=.914, TLI=.944, CFI=.958, RMSEA=.060. The model's fit, as indicated by these indexes, was deemed satisfactory, thus providing a good basis for testing the hypothesized paths. The SEM showed that the relational workplace harassment (${\beta}=.957$) had a positive significant influence on organizational silence, organizational silence (${\beta}=.934$) had a positive significant influence on counterproductive work behavior. Also, counterproductive work behavior (${\beta}=.815$) had a positive significant influence on turnover intention. The moderating effects on gender and job status did not show significant effect. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.

  • Investigating ship motion under real conditions is vital for evaluating the seakeeping performance, particularly in the design process stage. This study examined the influence of the principal particulars of a trawler on its seakeeping performance. The wave conditions in the Bering Sea are investigated using available data. The length-to-beam (L/B) and beam-to-draft (B/T) ratios of the ship are changed by 10% for the numerical simulation. The response amplitude operator (RAO) motion, root mean square (RMS) value and sensitivity analysis are calculated to evaluate the influence of the trawler dimensions on ship motions. The peak RAO motion affected the ship motions noticeably because of the resonance at the natural frequency. The L/B and B/T ratios are important geometric parameters of a ship that significantly influence its RMS motion, particularly in the case of roll and pitch. The change in the B/T ratio has a good seakeeping performance based on a comparison of the roll and pitch with the seakeeping criteria. The present results provide insights into the seakeeping performance of ships due to the influence of the principal dimensions in the design stage.

  • This paper presents a preliminary study of the influence of roughness due to marine propeller blades machining on their performance. A blade surface finish that has been roughened by corrosion, cavitation and other phenomena, leads to a power penalty. Thus propellers manufacturers tend to propose blades of great surface finish, even mirror-polished. However achieving such surface finish increases manufacturing costs. With modem manufacturing means, propellers can now be machined while preserving a good surface finish. We have studied the influence of manufacturing strategy on an aspect of hydrodynamic performance, cavitation.

  • In general, manual calibration is commonly used for the stream water quality modelling. Because the manual calibration depends upon the subjectivity and experience of the researcher, it has a problem with the objectivity of the modelling. Thus, the interest about the automatic calibration by the optimization technique is deeply increased. In this study, Influence coefficient algorithm and Genetic algorithm are introduced to develop an automatic calibration model for the QUAL2K that are the latest version of the QUAL2E. Genetic algorithm, used in this study, is very simple and easy to understand but also applicable to any complicated mathematical problem, and it can find out the global optimum solution effectively. The developed automatic calibration model is applied to the Gangneung Namdaecheon. The calibration results about the 11 water quality variables show the good correspondence between the calculated and observed water quality values.

  • In this paper, a redesign of an existing computer case is Proposed by applying some guide lines of assembly and disassembly which have positive effects on environment. Some problems such as Increase of number of disassembly and vibration, and unfittable difficulty in assembly and disassembly of coy-ers are recognized through analysis of geometrical structure in view of both assembly and disassembly. A solution of these problems is proposed by ideas of positive environmental influence through ease of assembly and disassembly. Design for Environment Software is used to evaluate both redesigned and existing products. Time of assembly and disassemb]y and MET-point are especially calculated by the software, and these data give us a good guide for analysis of ease of assembly, ease of disassembly and environmental influence in both products.

  • The purpose of this study is to research and analyze the influence of ISO 9001 QMS(Quality Management System) certification on the employer's financial goal and the employee' satisfaction. In this study, we could find that ISO 9001 QMS certification influenced eight factors which contribute to employee's satisfaction, and the purpose and background of ISO 9001 QMS certification was analyzed to have a good influence on the employee's satisfaction. In the future, the implementation strategy of ISO 9001 QMS needs to be studied to make the employees satisfied more with their duties and to pursue the employer's financial goals at the same time.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate if recommendation selling (methods of recommendation selling, a key word used for recommendation, and employee attitude) influences the customers' menu decision. The results of the study are as follows: 'Menu picture' and 'explanation by word' among the tools used by employees for recommendation were found to influence customers' menu decision. The words such as 'new menu' and 'special only today' used by employees for recommendation were found to influence customers' menu decision. Employees' attitude elements such as 'interesting explanation', 'dressed up tidy', 'strong intention', and 'patience' were found to influence customer's menu decision. 'Recommendation selling' in the food and beverage industry means 'employees help customers make a good decision on food and beverage service'. This study makes an important contribution to the food industry in terms of providing substantial marketing strategies.

  • The present study is devoted to the influence of a superposed radial inflow in a rotor-stator cavity with a peripheral opening. The flow regime is turbulent, the two boundary layers being separated by a core region. An original theoretical solution is obtained for the core region, explaining the reason why a weak radial inflow has no major influence near the periphery of the cavity but strongly affects the flow behavior near the axis. The validity of the theory is tested with the help of a new set of experimental data including the radial and tangential mean velocity components, as well as three components of the Reynolds stress tensor measured by hot-wire anemometry. The theoretical results are also in good agreement with numerical results obtained with the Fluent code and experimental data from the literature.

  • The earlier studies which are related to conflict management for urban regeneration project were based on limited case-studies on a specific phase. In addition, those studies did not considered a multidisciplinary approach for critical factor of conflict occurrence. In this reason, to establish a practical management or a policy is limited. In this paper, 'Good communication and information sharing' and 'Cooperativeness of stakeholders on project' are defined by critical factors for minimization of conflict between stakeholders. Furthermore we analysis the influence of those factors to minimization of conflict using path-analysis. This paper contributes to increase the efficiency of conflict management through understanding influence of each factors.

  • This paper proposes a novel direct power control (DPC) strategy for neutral-point-clamped (NPC) three-level rectifiers, to directly control the active power, the reactive power and the neutral point potential of the rectifiers by referring to three pre-calculated vector influence tables and minimizing an objective function. In the three vector influence tables, the influences of different voltage vectors on the active power, the reactive power and the neutral-point potential are shown explicitly. A conceptual description and control algorithm of the proposed controller are presented in this paper. Then, numerical simulations and experiments are carried out to validate the proposed method. Both the simulation and experimental results show that good performances during both the steady-state and transient operating conditions are achieved. As a result, the proposed strategy has been proven to be effective for NPC three-level rectifiers.
