  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of real-time visual feedback weight shift training during golf swinging on golf performance. Design: Repeated-measures crossover design. Methods: Twenty-sixth amateur golfers were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups: The golf swing training with real-time feedback on weight shift (experimental group) swing training on the Wii balance board (WBB) by viewing the center of pressure (COP) trajectory on the WBB. All participants were assigned to the experimental group and the control group. The general golf swing training group (control group) performed on the ground. The golf performance was measured using a high-speed 3-dimensional camera sensor which analyses the shot distance, ball velocity, vertical launch angle, horizontal launch angle, back spin velocity and side spin velocity. The COP trajectory was assessed during 10 practice sessions and the mean was used. The golf performance measurement was repeated three times and its mean value was used. The assessment and training were performed at 24-hour intervals. Results: After training sessions, the change in shot distance, ball velocity, and horizontal launch angle pre- and post-training were significantly different when using the driver and iron clubs in the experimental group (p<0.05). The interaction time${\times}$group and time${\times}$club were not significant for all variables. Conclusions: In this study, real-time feedback training using real-time feedback on weight shifting improves golf shot distance and accuracy, which will be effective in increasing golf performance. In addition, it can be used as an index for golf player ability.

  • Avulsion of spinous process, also called Clay-shoveler's fracture, is most prevalent among those engaged in hard physical labor. To the best of the author's knowledge, only one case of multiple spinous process fractures of the upper thoracic spine in a novice golfer has been reported. A 45-year-old female presented with intractable posterior neck pain. The patient experienced a sharp, sudden pain on the neck while swinging a golf club, immediately after the club head struck the ground. Dynamic cervical radiographic findings were C6 and C7 spinous process fractures. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed C6 and C7 spinous process fractures without spinal cord pathology. The patient was treated with pain medications and cervical bracing. The patient's pain gradually improved. The injury mechanism was speculated to be similar to Clay-shoveler's fracture. Lower cervical spinous process fractures can be associated with a golf swing. If the patient complains of long lasting neck pain and has a history of golf activity, further study should be conducted to rule out lower cervical spinous fracture.

  • The purpose of this study was to perform a kinematic analysis of Harai-goshi(hip throw) in superior female judo players. From our analysis, it appeared desirable for the player to shorten the duration of the technique for maximum results. It was also desirable for the player to draw the opponent backward while simultaneously maneuvering her close to her own body. A turning movement of the body toward the left side was found to be required for the technique, during which the player must lower the position of the center of gravity. During the subsequent angular change of the elbow, the player winds the elbow and, by moving the left shoulder, pulls the opponent toward her. The player lowers the body center by bending the left knee and letting the right knee extend, while turning the upper body and bending the hip joint. The player then draws the opponent in, contacts the opponent closely, turns, and stretches the right knee and hip joint rapidly and concisely, completing the move; it was also found to be desirable for the angular velocity to be increased for maximum efficacy.

  • This study aims to discover whether there are other factors, such as the ball position and address that will increase the percentage of holed putts from different angles of surface. In this study, we selected five male tour professional golfers that has been of 15 years or longer on the Korea Golf Association. As a research tool, after installing a video camera at an artificial site that's similar with the real green, and with the player's own putter, motion analysis was carried out using a Titleist V1x, which is commonly used by golfers. We use SPSS programs, significance level a=.05. According to the ball movement during the ball movement during the ball position putt by section, it is confirmed that the ball speed and angular velocity increase as the ball position changes from left to right. If the uphill putt, ball movement was found to be increased same change flat putt and There is no significance deviation. In this study, we investigate how the clubface and ball move during impact by varying the position of the address ball according to the slope during the ascent putt, which should increase the success rate among the various slopes. This study was conducted to present scientific data.
