Objective : Silent infarct is more common in healthy elderly people and seems associated with risk of future stroke. However, the prevalence and risk factors of silent infarct are unclear. We investigated the prevalence and risk factors of silent infarct. Methods : 56 first-ever cerebral infarct patients were enrolled in this study. CT images were made of all 56 patients. We divided them into two groups according to the presence of silent infarcts and comparedage, sex, education period, WHR, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, smoking, numbness and weakness of thumb and index finger, neck stiffness, facial spasm, and blepherospasm. Result : Silent infarcts were found in 24 patients(43%). Most infarcts(48%) were located in basal ganglia. Age, sex, education period, WHR, numbness and weakness of thumb and index finger, neck stiffness, facial spasm, and blepherospasm were similar between the two groups. Diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, and smoking were higher in the silent infarct group. Hypertension was higher in the non-silent infarct group. Conclusion : The prevalence of silent infarct in first-ever cerebral infarction patients was 43% and diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, and smoking were higher in silent infarct patients.

Background and Purpose : This study was to assess characteristics in acute stroke patients according to obesity and abdominal obesity. Methods : From1 Oct. 2005 to 31 Jul. 2007, 629 patients with a stroke were included. Patients were hospitalized within 30 days after the onset of stroke at Kyungwon University Incheon Oriental Hospital, DongGuk University International Hospital and Department of Cardiovascular and Neurologic Disease (Stroke Center), or Kyung Hee University Oriental Hospital. We investigated general characteristics preferences according to general obesity and abdominal obesity. Results : 629 acute stroke patients were included in the final analysis. Male, young age, hypertension, heart disease in the family history, hypertension in the past history, care of invalids or grandchildren and Taeumin in the Sasang constitution were higher among obese patients. Male, transient ischemic attack in the past history, smoker and Soyangin in the Sasangconstitution were higher among patients with abdominal obesity. The incidence of abdominal obesity corresponded to lower education level. Conclusions : In our study, we observed the general disposition of various characteristic distributions according to obesity and abdominal obesity in acute stroke patients.

The present study concerns uncertainty assessment of powering prediction from towing tank model tests, suggested by the International Towing Tank Conference (ITTC). The systematic uncertainty of towing tank tests was estimated by allowance of test setup and measurement accuracy of ITTC. The random uncertainty was varied from 0 to 8% of the measurement. Randomly generated inputs of test conditions and measurement data sets under systematic and random uncertainty are used to statistically analyze resistance and propulsive performance parameters at the full scale. The error propagation through an extrapolation procedure is investigated in terms of the sensitivity and coefficient of determination. By the uncertainty assessment, it is found that the uncertainty of resultant powering prediction was smaller than the test uncertainty.

A 3-year-old, captive female river cooter was presented with a 4-day history of progressive unilateral swelling of the right side of the head, lethargy, and anorexia. History, physical examination, and radiographic examination revealed an aural abscess. After administration of antibiotics and supportive care, surgical intervention was performed. Swab samples were collected from the tympanic cavity during surgery for cytology and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Molecular analyses of 16S ribosomal RNA gene sequences identified Citrobacter spp. and Morganella morganii. The patient was treated with ciprofloxacin and meloxicam and recovered after 2 months. This report describes the successful correction of a unilateral aural abscess that responded well to surgical intervention and a properly selected antibiotic.

The r-ary number sequences given by $$(b^{(r)}_n)_{n{\geq}0}=\Large{\frac{1}{(r-1)n+1}}(^{rn}_n)$$ are analogs of the sequence of the Catalan numbers ${\frac{1}{n+1}}(^{2n}_n)$. Their history goes back at least to Lambert [8] in 1758 and they are of considerable interest in sequential testing. Usually, the sequences are considered separately and the generalizations can go in several directions. Here we link the various r first by introducing a new combinatorial structure related to GR trees and then algebraically as well. This GR transition generalizes to give r-ary analogs of many sequences of combinatorial interest. It also lets us find infinite numbers of combinatorially defined sequences that lie between the Catalan numbers and the Ternary numbers, or more generally, between $b^{(r)}_n$ and $b^{(r+1)}_n$.

The purpose of this study is to provide a practical guide for optimum residential and useful architectural condition in a regional area. The data has been collected through survey from exist Housing of a Go-sung Gun Toa-Sung Mun area. Those 21 Housing samples are collected, and are analyzed by standard Architectural codes, country Architectural codes and regulations This study has been processed in analysis of the unit planning and codes condition of each housings, and situation analysis through the practical investing. As a results of this study, the Housing floor plan in rural area should reflect user's needs and functional unit plan. Especially, the unit planning have a good residental environments. An instance, laundry and balcony space. These result will become basic data for the future architectural design in the Housing floor plan in rural area.
