  • When designing protective clothing, there are something to be considered such as physiological feature of human body, acting range not to restrict physical activity, and effectiveness of material. Because the primary objective of protective clothing is to protect human body from danger and it is designed through complex designing process not likely general clothing design. However, current evaluation techniques-such as the ISO, the ASTM and the CEN, and KS-provide only the standard to evaluate the primary feature of material (testing, performance requirements, material specification, selection and application, test and care, and so on). There are no standard to evaluate influence for the human body while protective clothing put on. Especially, in Korea, there is KS to evaluate protective clothing, but it is partially translated version from ISO because of lack of core technology about this field. However, developed countries recognize it is new competitive means in the time of Global Standards and they are competing to make their own standard to global standard for the protective clothing. Therefore, it can be great opportunity for Korean clothing and textile industry to revitalize if focusing on research and development for protective clothing design based on physical activity of human body, fit evaluation technique and sizing which is currently no global standard for it and developing our standard to global standard.

  • A concrete cask is an option for spent nuclear fuel interim storage. A concrete cask usually consists of a metallic canister which confines the spent nuclear fuel assemblies and a concrete overpack. When the overpack undergoes a missile impact, which might be caused by a tornado or an aircraft crash, it should sustain an acceptable level of structural integrity so that its radiation shielding capability and the retrievability of the canister are maintained. A missile impact against a concrete overpack produces two damage modes, local damage and global damage. In conventional approaches [1], those two damage modes are decoupled and evaluated separately. The local damage of concrete is usually evaluated by empirical formulas, while the global damage is evaluated by finite element analysis. However, this decoupled approach may lead to a very conservative estimation of both damages. In this research, finite element analysis with material failure models and element erosion is applied to the evaluation of local and global damage of concrete overpacks under high speed missile impacts. Two types of concrete overpacks with different configurations are considered. The numerical simulation results are compared with test results, and it is shown that the finite element analysis predicts both local and global damage qualitatively well, but the quantitative accuracy of the results are highly dependent on the fine-tuning of material and failure parameters.

  • Over the last two decades, national R&D projects have been increased rapidly. The government has tried to improve the success of national R&D projects. But the weakness of the evaluation process for national R&D projects, there remains some problems. In order to solve those problems this study proposed an advanced evaluation process of national R&D projects on the basis of ISO/IEC15288, ISO/IEC12207 and ISO/IEC14598. The evaluation process consists of preparing evaluation, establishing evaluation requirements, specifying evaluation, designing evaluation, executing evaluation and reporting evaluation. The evaluation process is an artifact-oriented process. The results of this study can be used for reforming the evaluation process of national R&D projects.

  • For the degradation of severe noise and ill-conditioned blur the optimization function has the solution spaces which have many local optima around global solution. General restoration methods such as inverse filtering or gradient methods are mainly dependent on the properties of degradation model and tend to be isolated into a local optima because their convergences are determined in the convex space. Hence we introduce genetic algorithm as a searching method which will search solutions beyond the convex spaces including local solutins. In this paper we introudce improved evaluation square error) and fitness value for gray scaled images. Finally we also proposed the local fine tunign of window size and visit number for delicate searching mechanism in the vicinity of th global solution. Through the experiental results we verified the effectiveness of the proposed genetic operators and evaluation function on noise reduction over the conventional ones, as well as the improved performance of local fine tuning.

  • Korea has been took the top ranking in the global shipbuilding industry in terms of new orders, order backlogs and the volume of vessels for several years. However, the domestic small- and medium-scale shipbuilders currently face imminent threat from China and new challenge to focus on development of high value-added ships. So far, the marine leisure industry of Korea has been showed weak global competitiveness and there were few attempts to design and develop leisure boats and yachts. We describe the digital design process of leisure boat exterior that could reflect user's sensibilities and feelings of entire forms of the products. This design process contains stepwise sensibility evaluation via web and provides designers with various and fast feedbacks about their design outputs in each design stage.

  • In the $21^{st}$ century of digital information society, design is changing from an analog era that focuses on logical and rational knowledge to a new paradigm of an era focused on sensible communications that can react fast. Design becomes to fulfill sensible needs; moreover, full efforts are being made in the academic research of sensibility evaluation for the conceptualization, quantization, and visualization of design sensibilities based on the measurement and evaluation of sensibility. This study provides insight into a sensibility evaluation method to understand the global user's sensibility in the fashion design field. As for research methods, first, measurement methods of physical, psychological, and physiological reactions to design sensibility were examined through written research on sensibility evaluation in both domestic and overseas research. Next, studies on sensibility during the past 15 years from 2000 to 2014 in the field of domestic fashion design were analyzed to grasp research trends in sensibility evaluation methods; subsequently, suitable sensibility evaluation methods for current fashion design were discussed. As a result of the study, it was shown that most sensibility evaluation studies in the field of domestic fashion design are based on surveys using sensibility terms. However, it requires the process of translating among different terms in different lingual cultures and within the limits of a uniformed evaluation. In this regard, recent cases of overseas design studies have been applying new methods to measure physiological reactions such as eye tracking methods combined with IT. The analysis of multilateral sensibility evaluation methods in this study have significant meaning for use as basic data to establish a planning for an evaluation scale to measure the sensibility of global consumers towards modern fashion design more quantitatively.

  • Objectives: Korea has a unique history of being both a recipient and a donor of Official Development Assistance (ODA), and the international community expects Korea to contribute to the development of developing countries by utilizing this experience. Traditional Korean medicine (TKM) seeks to contribute to global health, however the concept of ODA has been unclear and there has been no clear strategy and sustainable initiatives. Methods: This study examines the concept of ODA and its application in global health, including business objectives, scale, evaluation principles, and development strategies. Additionally, we reviewed the current status of Traditional Korean medicine globalization projects and conducted a SWOT analysis of the internal and external environment of the TKM sector. Based on these findings, we redefined the concept of ODA for TKM and proposed suggestions for its development. Results: The current study identified key ideas for TKM ODA. It should prioritize the improvement of primary healthcare in recipient countries, aligning with the international evaluation criteria of the SDGs. Secondly, TKM's 70 years of experience can be leveraged to enhance both the competence and economic benefits of recipient countries' medical systems. Based on these concepts, a TKM ODA development model was proposed, comprising two core visions, three development strategies and goals, and six core values. Conclusion: This study systematically examined the TKM in global health and suggested sustainable development strategies for TKM ODA. Through its expansion, TKM could contribute to the advancement of global traditional medicine and its overall engagement in healthcare.
