신 국제물류환경과 인적관리의 중요성 (The Importance of Human Resource Management in New International Logistics Environment)

  • The modem world has brought a wave of changes, not the least of which is globalization or what is often referred to as the "borderless society." In recent times, changes in the global business environment, such as trade deregulation and advances in technology, are challenging us to find new ways of thinking about and coping with these new forces. The field of global logistics has encountered a host of paradigm shifts as well. Therefore, it is critical that managers involved in international logistics take into account perceptional swift or at least understand the value of fully utilizing information. The appropriate management of human resources is a key factor in dealing with not only new information technology, but also shifts in the business environment. In particular, it will be important for Korea's logistics managers at international logistics companies to continually work to develop themselves, as they must carry out a critical role in global supply chain management. If they fail to take heed of the demand's of the new environment, the competitiveness of Korean enterprises in international logistics will suffer severely.

  • 글로벌 생산네트워크의 변화로 인해 광양항은 새로운 전략의 수립이 요구된다. 특히, 무역의 패턴이 중국, 일본, 한국을 포함한 아시아의 경제적 성장에 따라 동북아지역 집중됨에 따라 가격과 서비스 경쟁력을 가진 광양항은 동북아 포트얼라이언스의 요구에 대처해야하며, 변화하는 무역환경에서 다른 국가들과 경쟁해야 한다. 그러므로 본 연구의 목적은 광양항의 성장을 촉진하기 위한 포트얼라이언스 전략을 제안하는 것이다. 광양항의 물류비즈니스 모델에 대한 목적에 맞도록 동북아 포트얼라이언스의 진행방향과 중국과 일본의 대상 항만을 제공하였다.

한국물류기업의 국제네트워크 구축요인 및 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Determining Factors and Strategies to the Globalization of Logistics Service Providers in Korea)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 한국물류기업이 국제 네트워크를 구축하려는 동기요인에 대해서 살펴보고 현 상황에서 가장 적합한 국제 네트워크 구축 방안을 모색하여 한국물류기업의 국제경쟁력을 제고시키는데 있다. 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 물류기업의 국제 네트워크 구축요인 중 네트워크요인이 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 둘째, 물류기업의 국제 네트워크 구축방안에 관한 분석결과 구축방안은 인수합병, 전략적 제휴, 합작법인 형태의 투자방식이 적합한 방안으로 압축되었으며, 전략적 제휴 방식이 가장 선호되는 것으로 분석되었다. 연구결과는 국제화를 준비하는 물류기업과 이를 지원하는 정부에 시사점을 제공한다. 국제화를 준비하는 물류기업들은 현지 기업과의 협력을 통해 현지 네트워크를 활용하는 방안을 모색하여야 할 것이며, 성공적인 국제화를 달성할 수 있는 파트너를 선정하여 전략적 제휴를 체결하는 노력을 경주해야할 것이다. 정부도 물류기업들의 네트워크 구축 및 전략적 제휴 체결이 보다 용이하도록 정책적인 지원을 해야 할 것이다.

Who are the Beneficiaries and Stakeholders of Blockchain Commercialization in the Shipping Industry?

  • In the field of logistics, the maritime shipping industry plays a critical role as the backbone of global trade activities. Nevertheless, previous studies on the commercialization and benefits of blockchain technology are limited in the field of marine logistics. Thus, the purpose of this study was to predict the benefit for each group involved in marine logistics when blockchain technology is applied. As such, 21 factors of benefits were selected for seven major logistics groups (financial institutions, freight forwarders, inland transportation, ocean carriers, port operators, port-related government authorities, and shippers) to study the benefit expected for each through the commercialization of blockchain technology. Based on the results, a different benefit level is expected for each group when blockchain technology is used. In order, ocean carriers (0.155), inland transportation (0.150), financial institutions (0.153), port operators (0.145), freight forwarders (0.142), port-related government authorities (0.129), and shippers (0.126) were found to benefit most from the use of blockchain technology. This study has industrial implications in that it presents the benefits expected when blockchain technology is realized and used in marine logistics by groups involved in logistics transactions.

The efficiency of national maritime logistics for 29 ocean countries: using super-efficiency DEA

  • With the expansion of the global supply chain, the efficiency of maritime logistics is considered a crucial factor for countries' trade and competitiveness. Nevertheless, prior research has not thoroughly evaluated the efficiency of maritime logistics, including countries' ports and shipping capacities. Accordingly, this study examines integrated maritime logistics efficiency at the national level using DEA-CCR, BCC, and super-efficiency DEA. Furthermore, this study identifies a difference between the selected countries' maritime logistics efficiency and LPI (Logistics Performance Index) through Spearman's correlation test as an ad-hoc analysis. From this, Asian countries showed higher efficiency and European countries showed higher LPI scores. These results might be derived from this difference in port-city development patterns. Additionally, the main cause of inefficiency in Europe and Japan might be attributed to high fleet capacity of control. Consequently, this study can provide valuable implications for coastal countries to set more efficient directions for maritime logistics investment and policy.

  • East Asia has played an important role in the economic and social development in the Asian pacific region and in the global arena. In the region the impact of companies centralizing their logistics activities around a few distribution centers has already led some leading ports such as Singapore, Hong Kong to transform and expand their functions and business activities to provide port users with value added logistics services. Other ports in the region also have an important part to play in the total logistics Chain. In these environments, the maritime activities of Jang BoGo, who was the maritime king of the commercial maritime empire in East Asia in the 9th century, give many implications to the international logistics network strategy that Korea has to take in order to become a power of International Logistics. Though the trading and economic environments at that time may be quite different from today, the super-national maritime management pattern that Jang Bo-go, founder of the Northeast Asian maritime trading kingdom devised, gives us many implications in the global trading and economic environments, in the respects of overseas direct investment and international logistics. Accordingly, the paper aims to examine the establishment of hub port in Northeast Asia, modelled after the maritime network management strategy of Jang BoGo.

광양항 물류산업 인프라 우선순위 분석 (A Priority Analysis of the Infrastructure for the Logistics Industry in Gwangyang Port)

  • 광양항은 항만 활성화와 물동량 증가를 위하여 2004년부터 항만물류산업 인프라 관련 사업을 실시하고 있다. 이러한 개발 사업계획은 광양항의 개발 축소, 물동량증가 둔화, 터미널 운영사 감소 등으로 인하여 많은 변화에 직면하고 있다. 광양항의 안정적 성장기반 확보와 자립항만의 달성을 위해서는 현 시점에서 인프라에 대한 계획 및 방향에 대한 재검토 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 광양항의 하드웨어적인 인프라보다는 소프트웨어적인 인프라 개선의 대안에 중점을 두었다. 이러한 대안의 우선순위를 분석하기 위하여 연구방법론으로 AHP 기법을 적용하였다. 본 연구에서는 의사결정을 위한 측정요소로 수익성, 용이성, 시급성, 장래성이 선정되었으며, 대안으로는 글로벌 네트워킹 구축, 물류전문인력 양성, 친환경저비용항만 운영, 전문물류기업 육성이 선정되었다. 설문조사는 광양항을 이용하는 해운선사, 항만 운영사, 배후물류기업, 화주의 물류전문가를 대상으로 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 측정 영역의 중요도는 해운선사, 항만운영사, 화주, 배후물류기업 순서로 나타났다. 측정요소는 수익성, 장래성, 시급성, 용이성 순서로 중요도가 분석되었다. 대안의 우선순위는 글로벌네트워킹 구축, 친환경저비용항만 운영, 전문물류기업 육성, 물류전문인력 양성 순서로 나타났다.

  • 해외 해운항만물류시장의 확대 및 진출에 따라 우리나라 선진 해운항만물류분야의 기술 이전을 위한 연수프로그램 수요가 증가하고 있다. 그러나 현재 시행되고 있는 해운항만물류분야 연수프로그램은 단기적인 성과는 있지만 국내 물류기업이 해외시장에 진출하는데 활용도가 매우 낮다. 따라서, 본 연구는 국내 물류기업의 해외진출 현황을 살펴보고 현재 추진중인 연수프로그램의 운영 실태와 문제점을 분석하여 국내 해운항만물류기업이 성공적으로 해외시장에 진출할 수 있는 연수프로그램 활용 방안을 제안하고자 한다.

  • Recently, the role of container ports is radically changing. These changes are largely driven by the innovation process of Logistics such as Supply Chain Logistics and Global Logistics due to the international expansion of industry. Under this environment, It is required that the container port should act as a integral part of a Supply Logistics Chain especially to provide the customer-oriented logistics service. This paper deals with the development strategy of container ports coping with these changes in the view point of container ports as a Logistics infrastructure to provide customer-response services and necessary to the economic promotion of hinterlands. Strategy is suggested in the phases of the customers desire, the pattern of container cargo, the economic promotion of hinterlands, and interrelation of container ports in north-east Asia and also domestics through the analysis of competiveness of container ports.

중국 천진항의 경쟁력 강화 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Strengthening Competitiveness for China TianJin Port)

  • With the rapid development of global economic and trade, the ports in the North-east Asia region have developed rapidly. Ocean shipping plays an irreplaceable role in China's foreign trade. Improvement of China's economy and continuous increase of trade in North-East Asia have made China as the number one in the world in container transport. Tianjin port which is the biggest international trade port in North-east China. Tianjin Binhai New District has incorporated in (CPC Central Committee on the outline of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan for national economic and social development proposals) which had adopted by The Fifth Plenary Session of the 16th CPC Central Committee. However, the competitions between ports are getting intense, the construction of Northeast Asia shipping center is in the ascendant, which bring new opportunity and challenge to the development of Tianjin port logistics. Therefore, Tianjin should according to its characteristics, integrating port resources, exert great efforts in developing port logistics, thus promoting regional economic development. Therefore, it is necessary to make the main study on the development strategy of Tianjin port logistics.
