  • Moment-based reliability analysis is the method to calculate reliability using Pearson System with first-four raw moments obtained from simulation model. But it is too expensive to calculate first four moments from complicate simulation model. To overcome this drawback the MD(multiplicative decomposition) method which approximates simulation model to kriging metamodel and calculates first four raw moments explicitly with multiplicative decomposition techniques. In general, kriging metamodel is an interpolation model that is decomposed of global model and local model. The global model, in general, can be used as the constant global model, the 1st order global model, or the 2nd order global model. In this paper, the influences of global models on the accuracy and robustness of raw moments are examined and compared. Finally, we suggest the best global model which can provide exact and robust raw moments using MD method.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze four models of global e-trade implementation which was suggested at the advance research of implementation global e-Trade with major trading countries. The main outcomes of this empirical study are as follows. For realizing global e-trade of G-Networking model country we have to implement e-trade in the field of "import & logistics". And for realizing global e-trade of P-Networking model country, it need to try in "settlement & clearance". Furthermore, for realizing global e-Trade of G-Penetration model country, we have known that the field of "import & logistics" would be implemented. Finally for realizing global e-Trade of P-Penetration model country, "settlement & clearance" could be implemented. Also, this study suggests that we have to do negotiation with China and Japan at first, and to try the area of settlement & clearance to implement the global e-Trade with Korea's 10 major trading countries.

  • It is a very important and fundamental process to know accurately the intensity of the solar energy coming into the installed module considering the tilted angle. Europe and the US commonly use a program called PVsyst to convert the global horizontal irradiation to global irradiation on tilted plane. There are two types of models that PVsyst uses to convert to irradiation on tilted plane. In this paper, Perez model, which is a decomposition model and Perez model, which is a transposition model used in PVsyst, are applied based on global horizontal irradiation and global irradiation on tilted plane measured in a specific area. The comparison of the decomposition model shows the effect of the transpostion model on global irradiation on tilted plane conversion by comparing the ratio of the horizontal diffuse irradiation amount of the Watanabe model which are highly trusted in Asia and the Perez model. The comparison of transposition model confirm the error between the measured data and the calculated value which is applied Perez model to global horizontal irradiation decomposed by Perez model and Watanabe model. Based on the two comparisons, This paper propose a method to confirm the reliability of transposition model and reduce the error when PVsyst is used in Korea.

  • Design analysis and computer experiments (DACE) model is widely used to express efficiently nonlinear responses in the field of engineering design. As a DACE model, kriging model can approximately replace a simulation model that is very expensive or highly nonlinear. The kriging model is composed of the summation of a global model and a local model representing deviation from the global model. The local model is determined by correlation coefficient with the pre-sampled points, where the accuracy and robustness of the kriging model depends on the selection of proper correlation coefficients. Therefore, to achieve the robust kriging model, the range of the correlation coefficients is explored with respect to the degrees of the global model. Based on this study we propose the proper orders of the global model and range of parameters to make accurate and robust kriging model.

  • The objective of this study was to explore a specific method and strategy for 'Global Leadership Program Model' in order to enhance global leadership, which will emphasize the aspect of open mind and attitude toward diversity, cross-culture, communication, and global manner. This research explored the concept and characteristics of global leadership and competency based education, and analyzed effectiveness of satisfaction and participation on global leadership programs implemented in K University and analyzed the learners' recognition on the experience. Also, the research integrated the values of global leadership with the strategies of competency-based education, and finally developed 'Global Leadership Program Model'. As a result, 'Global Leadership Program Model' might be able to help students use knowledge and skill in various contexts, and serve in the community with responsibility. It is expected that students could be facilitated to perform task and role communicating with others, and they might know exactly what learning outcome they are required to establish and what standard is used to evaluate the performance, so that this environment might motivate them and encourage them to follow the learning process more effectively.

The kriging model is composed of the summation of a global model and a local model representing deviation from global model. Therefore, robustness of the correlation coefficient is explored with respect to degrees of the global model. Then we propose the range of correlation coefficient to make correct and robust kriging model and the influence of the correlation coefficients on the degrees of global model with respect to the nonlinearity of the pre-sampled responses.

  • Although Korean apparel companies have transformed dramatically from contractors to sourcing companies thanks to the rapid growth of local market, relatively little work has been done identifying the determinants and the patterns of global sourcing activities of Korean companies. The purpose of this study was to outline a conceptual model that may be used to organize and guide global sourcing activities of Korean apparel manufacturers and retailers. The conceptual model identified four important factors, cost factor, strategic non-cost factor, firm's internal factor, and global factor, which affect global sourcing strategies and help predict how companies conduct various sourcing activities. The model also identified two sourcing patterns, outsourcing and intra-firm sourcing. In developing the model, literature review on how manufacturers and retailers in diverse areas including global apparel sourcing was conducted. Managerial implications and directions far future study were offered as well.

  • In general, the vibration and structural analyses have been carried out by using each finite element model separately because of different size of finite element mesh and different focusing area of each analysis. In some cases, however, it is required to perform both global vibration and structural analyses at the same time using a finite element model for global structural analysis, which asks for a special treatment for a vibration analysis. In this study, a technique to perform a global vibration analysis using a finite element model for a global structural analysis has been developed and its effectiveness has been verified by its application to a whole ship.

  • Using GIS and socio-economical data the relationship between human activities and global environmental change Is Analysed from the view point of food productivity and CO2 emission. Under the assumption that the population problem, the food problem and global warming due to energy consumption can be stabilized through managing land use, impacts of human activities such as consumption of food, energy and timber on global environment changes, and global population capacity are Analysed using developed system dynamics model in the research. In the model the world is divided into two groups: OECD countries and the others. Used global land use data set Is land cover map derived from satellite data, and potential distribution of arable land is estimated by the method of Clamor and Solomon which takes into consideration spatial distribution of climate data such as precipitation and evapotranspiration. In addition, impacts of CO2 emission from human activities on food production through global warming are included in the model as a feedback. The results of the analysis for BaU scenario and Toronto Conference scenario are similar to the results of existing models. From the result of this study, the human habitability in 2020 is 8 billion people, and CO2 emission in 2020 based on BaU Scenario and on Toronto Scenario is 1.7 and 1.2 times more than the 1986's respectively. Improving spatial resolution of the model by using global data to distribute the environmental variables and sauce-economical indices is left for further studies.

  • In computer vision, salient object is important to extract the useful information of foreground. With active contour analysis acting as the core in this paper, we propose a bottom-up saliency detection algorithm combining with the Bayesian model and the global color distribution. Under the supports of active contour model, a more accurate foreground can be obtained as a foundation for the Bayesian model and the global color distribution. Furthermore, we establish a contour-based selection mechanism to optimize the global-color distribution, which is an effective revising approach for the Bayesian model as well. To obtain an excellent object contour, we firstly intensify the object region in the source gray-scale image by a seed-based method. The final saliency map can be detected after weighting the color distribution to the Bayesian saliency map, after both of the two components are available. The contribution of this paper is that, comparing the Harris-based convex hull algorithm, the active contour can extract a more accurate and non-convex foreground. Moreover, the global color distribution can solve the saliency-scattered drawback of Bayesian model, by the mutual complementation. According to the detected results, the final saliency maps generated with considering the global color distribution and active contour are much-improved.
