Rapid urbanization is rapidly progressing around the world, and urban problems such as traffic congestion, environmental pollution, and noise pollution are emerging, due to this urban concentration phenomenon, logistics and transportation costs are increasing. Urban Air Mobility(UAM) is a three-dimensional futuristic urban transportation that is expected to become an important transportation axis of smart cities as a service(MaaS) linked to roads, railways, and personal transportation. However, as of July 2023, research on airspace systems, Bertieport design, navigation, and communication for UAM operation is actively being conducted, but little research has been conducted on the concept of pilot education and training and education and training programs. Therefore, this paper aims to present a suitable plan for the domestic pilot training system through SWOT analysis of vertical takeoff and landing(VTOL) pilot education and training programs in the United States and Europe.

This study examined the impact of geopolitical risk on port throughput in Korea. With a high trade-to-GDP ratio, Korea has an open economy. The vast majority of its exports and imports are serviced by maritime transport. Therefore, cargo volume of Korean seaports is highly likely to be affected by changes in global economy resulting from escalation in geopolitical risk. In this regard, this study investigated the relationship between geopolitical risk and port throughput in Korea during the period of 1995-2022. Results indicated that the impact of geopolitical risk on port throughput was not statistically significant. However, the relationship varied by export, import, and ports. Especially, it was revealed that cargo volume of Korean ports was negatively associated with the level of geopolitical risk. In addition, it was also found that geopolitical risk had a negative impact on the unit price of Korean import..

The COVID-19 pandemic, which began in early 2020, became an opportunity for unprecedented global reflection and change. And it served as an opportunity to promote a new paradigm in all areas of society, including politics, economy, culture, and industry. In the midst of this upheaval, the 2022 IAA exhibition, which was held in four years, was held as an exhibition that even proposed new concepts of smart logistics and mobility services. Among them, various concepts were also proposed in exhibitions related to last mile mobility, the focus of this study.As a result of this study, the main trend of last mile mobility shown in the IAA 2022 exhibition is that the property of physical products with functions as social interfaces is expanding into the PSS (Product-Service System) ecosystem in which products and services are systematically linked. As a result, the need for a methodological approach that can organically link the design planning of social services and the development of products corresponding to it was derived.

Purpose - As ahigher-order ability, improvisational capability is often employed to help a firm cope with unexpected or unanticipated issues. In light of the severe global business challenges and turbulent environmental changes, this study aimed to explore whether home-based network ties could shape the influence of improvisational capability on international entrepreneurship, alongside investigating the boundary conditions of competitive turbulence in their moderating effects. Design/methodology - The sample for the international entrepreneurship sector was obtained from the Industry and Information Technology Department of Jiangsu. In September 2021, the questionnaires were sent to the targeted ventures and required the top managers to complete the survey by email or telephone. The final research sample comprised 113 international new ventures. To test the hypotheses, moderated hierarchical regression analysis was conducted. Findings - Our empirical results suggested that (1) unlike some previous literature, a positive effect of improvisational capability on the performance of international new ventures was not found; (2) home country-based networks (both political ties and business ties) are contingent factors that may partially stimulate the value creation of improvisational capability; and (3) in a highly competitive environment, the moderating role of business ties at home may become much stronger, however, the contingent role of political ties at home was not found. Originality/value - This study mainly concentrates on the two important types of home country-based networks, political and business ties at home, that may help international new ventures access strategic resources necessary for supporting the performance implications of improvisational capability. Thus, it extends the existing improvisational theory to encompass international entrepreneurship.

Recently, ASEAN is not only a new production base but also a consumer market for Korea, and interest in the utilization of production networks in each region is increasing. In particular, urbanization in ASEAN countries is progressing at a relatively fast pace. Each country is promoting smart city projects combined with ICT to improve outdated basic infrastructure facilities such as housing, transportation, logistics, crime prevention, and disaster prevention. The purpose of this study is to develop a web-based smart city export HUB platform so that companies with excellent domestic smart city solutions can participate in smart city construction through networks with ASEAN countries. These platforms can secure the demand for smart city construction in ASEAN countries, and through the establishment of the Korea-ASEAN public-private network, smart cities planned in ASEAN countries can be promoted more innovative. In addition, it is expected to be positioned as a Global smart city platform model by applying to real cities through collaboration with excellent domestic companies.

In line with the low growth trend of the global economy, shipping companies and port companies are experiencing various management difficulties. However, at this time when the growth trend is stagnating, attempts to solve the breakthrough in growth with the technology of the 4th industrial revolution are occurring in various industries and technologies. In this study, in order to facilitate the construction of smart ports in the future, we will look at the current port system in Korea, and in the sense of the need for a basic study to diagnose the direction for more smooth policy introduction and technology introduction, Related exploratory studies were conducted. To achieve the purpose of this study, various previous studies were reviewed, news articles related to ports, reports of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and foreign literature were reviewed in a variety of ways, and based on this, we intend to present smart port introduction tasks and improvement plans.

Caffe Bene, one of the most notable coffeehouse chain brands in Republic of Korea, gives us some thought-provoking issues in terms of sustainable success. Despite harsh competition among various coffeehouse brands, Caffe Bene has been accomplished astonishing outcomes in domestic market and now ranked 2^nd place in sales among the global coffeehouse franchise in 2010 and 2011. These achievements were possible mainly because Caffe Bene adopted distinctive shop design, maintained aggressive marketing strategy, developed new menu, and combined the unique Korean culture with ordinary concept of café to make its place attractive. However, since Korean coffeehouse market is getting saturated and consumers are becoming savvy about coffee, Caffe Bene needs to find a new solution to overcome growth stagnation. Besides, many experts pointed out that irrational increase in the number of stores might hurt its business in the aspect of managing distribution channel and providing consistent services. Also, customers of Caffe Bene have shown that it has to complement its critical weaknesses: inferior coffee taste and relatively high price for a cup of coffee. Especially, some people view that the company is shifting its high rental fee, interior cost and PPL marketing cost to consumers by charging high price for coffee. To get over the problems, Caffe Bene is currently using C/S Consumer Management System though experts are questioning about the efficacy because of the conflict between purpose of the system and the headquarters' plan. Present CEO Kim also announced that the company will complete its logistics system in the latter half of 2012 to provide stores with more high quality coffee beans to improve taste of coffee. Thus, in this case, we describe how Caffe Bene succeeded in Korean market and enumerate its key success factors. Also, we specify the long-term goals of Caffe Bene and introduce the current policies and strategies to show how the company is working on to achieve its ultimate goal. By reading and analyzing this business case, students could get useful insights regarding franchise management and think about issues on competing in a saturated market. Also, it would be worthwhile to generate creative solutions for the problems that Caffe Bene is now facing to broaden the practical perspective.

The automation of container terminals is an important factor that determines port competitiveness, and global advanced ports tend to strengthen their competitiveness through container terminal automation. The operational efficiency of the AGV, which is an essential transport equipment of the automated terminal, can improve the productivity of the automated terminal. The operation of AGVs in automated container terminals differs from that of conventional container terminals, as it is based on an automated system in which AGVs travel along designated paths and operate according to assigned tasks, requiring consideration of factors such as workload, congestion, and collisions. To prevent such problems and improve the efficiency of AGV operations, a more sophisticated model is necessary. Thus, this paper proposes an AGV scheduling model that takes into account the AGV travel path and task assignment within the terminal The model prevent the problem of deadlock and. various cases are generated by changing AGV algebra and number of tasks to create AGV driving situations and evaluate the proposed algorithm through algorithm and optimization analysis.

In recent decades, product variety has increased dramatically in most industries. Rapidly evolving technologies, global competition, and sophisticated customers have contributed to an increase in product variety in many industries. In this paper, I study the impact of product variety on several businesses in the supply chain through literature review. By study of literature. this paper presents the benefits and drawbacks of increasing product variety on functions performed in several departments, such as engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, logistics and marketing. It provides a brief overview of the various techniques like modularity, component sharing, and platform-based development, which are helpful in reducing the costs, when designing for variety. It also provides a brief overview of order processing, purchased component/part variety, which are helpful in reducing the purchasing costs, and customer satisfaction, market advantage, market share, competitive advantage and demand forecast, which are useful in impact of product variety on marketing. Future research directions are discussed.

The probability of T/S cargo volume to decrease is the most notable problem associated with inappropriate mix of terminal operators in Busan port. Other problems include, the deterioration of the national carriers' competitiveness from non-operation of own terminal, excessively high proportion of financial operators in the engagement of operation which may result in their passiveness in timely investment, additional cost burden to carriers' in the handling inter-terminal T/S cargo transportation and inefficiency in terminal operation by the multiplicity of operators proved to be same recognized as so through the analysis. Therefore, in order to provide solutions for the problems and to strengthen Busan port's competitiveness, this research suggests the restructuring of operators mix as follows. To achieve sustainable growth of T/S cargo, global carriers' participation in terminal operation should be of utmost priority. To enhance the operational efficiency, the operators should be integrated. Similarly, the integration of operators will play a key role in verifying that national carriers' own terminal operation is an important factor in raising its competence. Finally, BPA's active engagement in the entire operation of port is also critical in public-oriented operation of the port. Whereas in the interactive analysis by taking the merits of Busan port into consideraion, global carrier's participation in operation, integration of operators and BPA's engagement in operation proved to contribute to the increase of T/S cargo and strengthening of operational efficiencies of Busan port.
